I really enjoyed the service that I received at Beauty Zone. Lisa did my manicure and I loved it! I will definitely go back to her. I have gone to other nail salons in Petaluma. She took her time and wasn't rough. I t was very relaxing. I liked the music they were playing - current pop hits. The decor was nice, and with the lights gave it a modern feel. I stopped in here on a whim while in the parking lot trying to get threading done a couple doors down and I didn't realize they were closed. Thankfully Beauty Zone was open and I made an appointment for a brow wax ($19) and two pedicures ($33 each +$8 nail art) for the next day so i could bring hubby along with me. When we arrived, they were expecting us and showed us to our chairs. The ambiance is interesting, they have a lot of detail they worked on for relaxation, but also allow there to be damaged ceiling hanging and also sort of a chaotic vibe between the folks working there which was curious. We were able to be seated together and had a basic pedicure, and I was happy with the overall experience, along with a very good foot massage and pretty good looking artwork on the nails. I did notice, our two pedicurists talked to each other literally the entire time and did not try to engage us at all. I was overall ok with it since I'm more of a relax and hang out kind of person, but for those near us who were there alone, I did note they were trying to engage but the pedicurists were deep in convo with each other. After the pedicures, I had a brow wax which was good, and I overall was happy with the outcome, although they did rip off some of my skin which I didn't notice until later. I thought the prices were good, the place other than the ceiling was pretty clean, and although they weren't overtly friendly, they were professional and their product was what we were hoping for. Hello my friends. Please, never ever ever go there unless you prefer horrible customer service! Wanted to share my story from yesterday as they have lost a years long customer in me. Been going there since the day they opened in 2005 and have probably spent thousands over the years, but no more. Here it goes.... Received a gift card last month, enough for 2 pedicures. I used it for a basic pedicure 2 weeks ago. At check out, the younger gal at reception wrote the $ amount that was left on the gift certificate and I was on my way. Not paying attention to what she wrote. Yesterday at my appointment I noticed on the gift certificate that I was charged the incorrect amount for the previous pedicure ($42 instead of $37). Honest mistake. I simply brought it up to the owner while I was checking in. The owner came out swinging!!! I was beyond stunned by her behavior. She was so incredibly rude and immediately came at me like I was trying to scam her out of $5 then said "I'll deal with you later, go pick out a color." Yes, you're reading that right. As I'm in the chair, she then proceeds to talk s#!t about me to her coworkers. One of the girls told her to stop because she could see the look on my face. She then comes back at me AGAIN while I'm in the chair, OVER $5!! I was done. Most of my friends have stopped going there because of how terrible they are to their customers and needless to say, I'm now joining them. I've always come here sporadically for events, but recently started going more consistently for builder gel manicure and regular pedicure. Each time I've had someone different but I'm always impressed. The builder gel manicure takes time and they do a wonderful job, paying close attention to detail. The young man who must be new removed my gel with the edge of cuticle cutters! This removed part of my natural nail and im left with paper thin nails. Hello Facebook friends! Happy holidays. I just experienced a very disappointing interaction with beauty zone Nail Salon here in Petaluma. My daughter who is visiting for the holidays had an appointment on Tuesday the 23rd for gel X nails. By Christmas Day seven of the 10 nails had come off. I got a pedicure at the same time that she got her nails done and my pedicure was fine. We returned to Beauty Zone this morning and were told that they cannot give us a credit but they could redo her nails sometime later this afternoon. Unfortunately, my daughter is traveling back home today so didn't have time to stick around to get her nails redone. We asked for a credit and they refused so we are out the very expensive price attached to the Gel x nail original appointment because they refused to provide any any type of store credit. There are many nail salons here in Petaluma and I definitely will not be visiting this one ever again. I encourage you all to avoid them as well. Their customer service is very poor and in fact, the the young woman at the register lied to us repeatedly about who she was talking to so I feel that they are shady and disreputable. Rolled the dice and went to Beauty Zone for a gel manicure (Tracy) and pedicure (Katie) the week of my wedding. I'm pleased with the results! The salon is clean and sanitary, and the ladies did a great job on both mani and pedi. Both ladies were great, but I appreciated the extra attention Tracy paid while filing my nails. Loved the little massages too. The one con is also a pro -- they work REALLY fast and got me out of there in an hour, start to finish. One note: I do think you need to advocate for exactly what you what, and speak up if something isn't what you expected. For example, ask for that extra coat or say the color isn't right. Also maybe hang around a few extras minutes to make sure your polish is dried so you don't smudge. They seemed very accommodating when I communicated! read more

I went in for a mani pedi after having my baby 4 months ago, as a gift from my husband. I was very excited to have some time to myself and relax. The in salon experience left much to be desired but I was so excited to have alone time that I wasn't going to let myself get too disappointed. I was in about two weeks ago and I had an acrylic set taken off and a gel manicure. I asked for an appointment with Tom because I remember he was one of the better techs here. He cut open my finger and I probably bled for 20-25 minutes.. even with the disgusting "stop bleed" liquid he kept putting on it. Which by the way turns black.. so that looked just great. He cut me during my manicure after the acrylics were off. Said sorry, but was not sincere about it. I understand accidents happen so I decided to go back for a regular pedicure and gel polish change. I didn't want a full manicure because I did not want to be cut again and I did not request anyone specific this time. This is the WORST gel polish I have EVER had. At least 5 fingers are not fully painted, there is polish in the sides of my nails, the gel polish was so thin she kept layering it on that there are huge raises at the end of my nails. She got clear coat all over her hands and therefore all over my hands. She kept digging her nail into the sides of my nails to clean them up.. It just looks horrible. I had not had a pedicure in about 2+ months and had barely any gel polish left on my toes, I had cut my nails down myself and had picked at it. I was charged $5 to have the remnants filed off with an electric filer. The woman cut two toes so short I bled and it hurts to wear shoes. She didn't not say sorry. I had to pay $62 for this HORRIBLE service. I have never been so disappointed. $30 for a gel polish change is just ridiculous, it's a polish change! $27 for a pedicure is pretty fair.. but $5 to file off barely any gel polish is RIDICULOUS. I told the woman ringing my up there was barely any gel and she cut me twice she said, "Sorry, thank you, have a great night." This is the first time in my life I have not left a tip.. I am just so upset I had to pay $62 for this. I have to go tonight to get a gel polish change somewhere else, because I can't deal with how bad this looks. Some of these yelp reviews seem fake/exaggerated. I had an amazing experience here and will definitely be coming back. My color is DND536 gel on my nails and DND530 polish on my feet. The price was fair; you just have to be firm on what you want. I told my hand nail tech I wanted thick gel so she did multiple layers (about 5 layers). I told my feet nail tech I wanted my nails short and square and she did exactly that. I would definitely recommend the paraffin wax for dry hands. 10/10 would come here again! read more

This place has really gone down hill. They talk to each other the entire time. The girl was on her phone when we got a pedicure last time. She kept texting while working on our feet. They rub your feet for like 1 minute. They don't use the pumice stone for more than 5 seconds. Today I brought my daughter there and we stood there waiting for a good 2 minutes. No one looked up. So we walked to the counter. Another 2 minutes went by. One girl looked at me and just kept talking to the other employee. Completely ignored us. So we walked out. I believe that most good review for this place come from long time clients of theirs. From what I've seen they choose who they welcome and who they don't. For example, I walked in with an appointment for gel manicure. My massage at the end was rushed I counted (15 seconds on one hand and 9 on the other !!!). The older women next to seemed to be getting massaged the entire time I was getting my manicure. Then this couple walks in and the entire staff stops to welcome them. They rushed me out of my seat bc the man requested the nail artist who was working on me...I most definitely spoke up and said something but they did NOT care at all. The foot spa jets are standard jets, unlike the bowls that I prefer. The facility is clean which eases my concerns around jets. Beauty zone used to be my go to nail salon until recently. I went two weeks ago and got a full new set of gel acrylic nails. Three days later two nails break off as I'm pulling my jeans on. I went back and got them fixed and then the day after TWO more nails broke off. Then that night another nail broke off when I was picking up my school bag. I decided to come try this place since I live close by and being a new mom, I needed some Me Time. I booked a last minute gel manicure and pedicure and both of the ladies were super sweet, took their time and made sure I was happy with everything! Absolutely love going to see Tom. I give him a color, or a theme and I just let him work his magic! Beautiful nails, fun conversation, always happy to have my manicure appointments with my mom! I have had several pedicures here and overall have been satisfied. My sister and I had appointments today that were booked together for the same time. We were seated together and my pedicure was started on time. 20 minutes later my sister was still waiting. We finally said something and my sister said she was going to cancel and all of a sudden some one was right there to start her pedicure. They do a good job but there definitely needs to be improvement in scheduling and communication with customers. read more
