I use Square regularly in NYC and have never experienced this kind of confusion before. What made the situation especially frustrating was the complete lack of accommodation or understanding when I arrived. I was simply told the issue was noted somewhere on the website, but if this is a known problem, it should be made extremely clear and impossible to miss -- especially for out-of-town clients visiting Napa. They also stated they called me around noon, but I never received a phone call or missed call notification. The experience felt disappointing and unprofessional from start to finish. Napa is known for hospitality and customer service, and sadly this business did not reflect that at all. I hope they improve both their booking communication and their willingness to work with customers when issues like this happen.

I spent over $350 on a balayage here recently with Kait and unfortunately had a really…read moredisappointing experience. I went in wanting to replicate the sun-kissed strawberry blonde with copper undertones that I got here last year. The consultation felt super rushed, but she acted like she totally remembered and had it handled, so I trusted her and didn't think I needed to pull out a reference photo. When she was done, she gave me a sleek blowout that looked great in the salon chair and completely hid the actual color placement. Once I washed it at home and saw it air-dried in normal indoor lighting, it was a totally different story. The color is way darker and redder than my natural base shade, and there's a heavy, solid block of copper right at the top & one side of my head with no blending. Four days later, I messaged her with an inspiration picture to politely figure out a fix. Her response was honestly pretty rude and defensive. She told me she had "0 recollection" of my hair from last year, and instead of offering to brighten it back up to what I actually paid for, she basically said it would cost me another full fee for a brand-new partial color. She did offer a quick root smudge at the sink, but putting a dark gloss over an already muddy, dark base would have just made it look worse. When I reached out to the salon owner to ask for a partial refund so I could go get this fixed somewhere else, she completely washed her hands of it. She said the stylists are just independent contractors and she's basically just their landlord, so the salon takes zero responsibility for their work or client payments. If you are going to charge premium luxury prices, you should provide a proper consultation and some basic professional accountability when a mistake like this happens. I am now stuck with a botched hair color. I definitely won't be back.
