We did a trial a few weeks in advance to go over all of the details and locked in what I wanted from my hair & makeup services (I booked a photo shoot for that same day to not let the hair & makeup go to waste and my pictures came out amazing!). At the end of my trial I was able to sign our contract and leave a deposit with her to lock in my wedding date. The day of, she made me feel so beautiful, everything held up through a slightly windy ceremony and an evening of dancing, I couldn't have been happier! Brides beware!!! I have been coordinating with Casey (owner) since November to book a hair and makeup trial for my wedding as I live across the country. I flew across the country for the trial and was pleased with the result. I confirmed multiple times with Casey that she was available on the date of my wedding and was told by her that the deposit could be paid to her at a later date. I was extremely surprised when I received an email a few days later that she was no longer available for my wedding date as she was booked due to the contract not being signed and deposit not being paid. I was never presented with a contract during my trial and was specifically told that the deposit did not need to be paid that day. I am writing this review as a warning to other brides as it was confirmed multiple times that she was available and would be doing my hair / makeup without any mention of a contract or deposit. I was also refused a refund after flying to CA specifically for this trial. I hope they improve their business practices moving forward and another bride does not have to go through the same experience. read more

We were super excited to use crush for hair and make up for an event. The reviews were great & we liked the images online. We didn't however have a great experience. The salon seemed to send out independent contractors last minute instead of employees. The make up done was probably four star, with the only complaint being that the make up artist wasn't able to properly put on our fake lashes. For one of us she put on singles that wouldn't stay put, we're in all directions and started to fall off working about ten minutes. She couldn't correct it so she switched to a full lash line but it wasn't centered & had a pretty big gap on the end. She said that was normal. i was told later it was not. A second of us, she couldn't get the lashes to stay on at all. The third looked ok. I'm not sure if it was the glue being bad which she said or inexperience but iI was told by a make up artist friend from photos i showed her that it wasn't good. The hair was not what we asked for. We each asked for different styles but all looked fairly the same. None had any body which i think was due to whatever she put in our hair ( she told one of us that it was leave in conditioner to stop frizz). It was heavy and flattening. One of us had two different styles on each side of the head. She tried to fix it but didn't seem to know how. Eventually we decided we would just do it ourselves so she took payment and left. We ended up redoing hair after the appointment to try to make it right, but with the limpness it was still not they way we desired. All together, super frustrating because once we realized it wasn't going well, it was too late to do much, so we paid, fixed what we could & moved on. I will say that the artists were super nice so I debated reviewing but I spoke with a make up artist friend recently who thought it off that the salon never followed up to see how their contractors did. She urged me to review. I tried to reach the salon to give feedback directly to them but have gotten no response yet, so am leaving this here. I would not use this service again and if you do I'd suggest being very clear up front on expectations of who is doing your services, what experience they have etc. read more

I elected to go to Crush on the Friday morning before my wedding with my three bridesmaids and the two mothers for a regular mani/pedi girl day since I didn't really get a chance to have a bridal shower. I picked Crush because of the 4-Star review and because I also wanted to get a blow out for my rehearsal dinner. Setting up the appointment wasn't too difficult. Because we were a party of 6, we needed to go through the owner, Jerica, who drafted up a contract of services and required a credit card authorization form. This was done over a couple days and they were even accommodating since I said I needed to be out of the salon by a certain time for my rehearsal. I was a little unsure of why we were scheduled for a total of 5 hours even though the 6 of us were just getting regular mani pedis with two stylists. I had called and asked if there would be more people and they assured me there would be. Nonetheless, I assumed it would be a fun morning spending time with my bridal party. We showed up at 9:30am to leave for a 2:30pm rehearsal. Judging from the previous poor reviews a lot of them stem from poor customer service with the occasional complaint about quality. Unfortunately I had both. The other manicurist seemed pretty good, but the one that I got seemed to be pretty inexperienced and I was not very happy with the result (cuticle cleaning and filing was kind of half-assed and my feet did not feel any nicer than before). Not to mention the regular mani-pedi took over an hour. I'm not really sure why it should've taken so long, it seemed like my stylist especially was not very efficient or skilled. Needless to say the appointment started to drag on and I was not very happy with the result, but didn't say anything because at that point it was too late to redo everything. Over the appointment we realized things were taking an exceptionally long time. One of my sisters elected to just go for a pedicure since 2 hours in she still wasn't done and needed to leave. I asked to move up my blow out so I wouldn't be late for my rehearsal and to my disappointment was also done by the inexperienced stylist who again did a mediocre job. The worst part is, my other sister and maid of honor never got any of her services. 30 minutes from when we needed to leave, the manicurist started packing up and we then pointed out that nobody had helped my sister who had been sitting there for the past 5 hours. They seemed surprised and said that there was no time to do a full manicure and pedicure and could maybe do a quick "buffing" which for the price $55 would not have been worth it. All of this maybe would've been acceptable, but as reported in other reviews their customer service was severely lacking. When confronted about doing 3 fewer services in a scheduled about of time that was laid out in a contract, the stylist became very rude to my sister, blamed our group for messing up the scheduling, and basically left to have lunch. No one in the salon apologized and when I would complain everyone literally acted like absolutely nothing happened. I also think part of this whole debacle was contributed by the fact that there was another bridal party in the salon getting their hair and make up done so we were kind of forgotten about and got the lowest tier stylist. I wouldn't be so upset if this hadn't been my special day with my bridal party as well and the total disregard for our time spent and lack of any accountability for any of the events. My sister left without anything done to her nails and everyone else left with mediocre services and wasted time. A few days later, Jerica emailed me with an apology about what happened, but honestly it was kind of too late. I'm sure other people have had great experiences with good stylists at this place, but our appointment really left a sour taste in my mouth. read more

They do an amazing job for blowouts, updo's and make up!!! I even had my daughter get her hair done before the father daughter school dance and her and her friends had the best time!!!! Couldn't have asked for a better experience! Had a fabulous mani pedi service here!! After moving to Sonoma from LA, adjusting to the country has been difficult, to say the least. I tried every single nail salon in town except for a couple of the higher priced ones ($80 for a mani pedi is way too steep for me) and have had the WORST luck. I've not been able to get a decent mani pedi in Sonoma to save my life. I'd driven by Crush Beauty Bar several times and thought it was just a hair salon, but thank goodness I met Steph- who does a perfect job from start to finish. They're about $10 more than the other nail salons but worth every penny! You absolutely get what you pay for. I'll definitely be back. read more

The atmosphere is super clean with a fabulous Sonoma chic styled interior decor and fittingly named blowout packages. Parking was easy breezy too! All the stylists looked the part with finished nails, makeup and hair which is what I expect from a business in the beauty industry but don't often find.The gorgeous staff of Danielle, Haley and Karime took great care of me! I was looking forward to trying out this place. I really wanted to love this place and make it my new go to beauty salon. Unfortunately their customer service skills are not good or at least not with me they must have not like me. I don't know why it was my first time there. I wasn't welcome nor offered water, tea, etc like the other clients that walked in for a blow out ( which I guess its their speciality). The place decor is beautiful, tasteful and inviting but not so much the staff. I am very disappointed. The nail polish options are beautiful but limited. I asked her several times to clean the cuticles and extra skin in both my nails and toes and she ignored me or told me she didn't feel comfortable doing it. She did not buff my dry heels and when I showed her how they looked and to buff them more she said I don't feel comfortable doing it and instead handed me the file to do it my self. I attached pictures. I intend to speak to the owner about this hopefully she is receptive. And I will not be coming back nor recommending it to any of my friends. The Girl that did my mani -pedi was Karime and I was trying to be friendly by engaging in a conversation I guess she wasn't interested. When I was leaving She didn't see me and I over heard her telling her coworker I was chatty! anyway she was rude and ignored my requests as a client. Last year I went here to get my makeup done for prom and I have never had a more awful experience. When I came in I told the artist that I had very light skin and that I didn't like too much coverage because it looks too Cake-y. She piled on the foundation and concealer and I didn't even look like myself. The makeup cracked around my nose and on my forehead and they let me leave the salon like that! I couldn't believe it. I didn't want to go back in to have them fix it but my mom insisted. They blamed ME for it looking bad because I didn't exfoliate. I went home and redid my whole face. I don't know how they could look at my face and think it looks good. I looked like a sick porcelain doll with a cracked face. Such a waste of money. I did not have a very positive experience when I went to Crush for a blowout and style. I scheduled using the app but never got a confirmation email so I had to contact them to make sure my appointment request was accepted. When I arrived, I was not offered a beverage although I did hear other clients being offered a beverage. I showed the stylist a few photos and described what I wanted. I wish she had asked some clarifying questions and gotten a better idea because I ended up with a style that I felt did not match my description or the photos. When I saw it at the end I showed her the photos again and asked her to fix one part. She got an attitude but did try to make it more of what I wanted. I scheduled appointments by email for my niece and myself for updo's and full make up as we were attending my son's wedding. Stupid me - I completely underestimated the driving time on a Saturday in September so we arrived 20 minutes late - my fault entirely. The staff at Crush were amazing - both ladies worked at full speed to get our hair done and makeup too and they couldn't have been nicer. As for the makeup and hair - they gave us exactly what we asked for. I asked for a smokey eye and the result was lovely. My neice asked for lashes and looked lovely. I was particularly pleased with my hair - it stayed in place beautifully and I got many, many compliments. On a funny sidenote - when I slipped next door for a quick manicure, someone stopped me to ask if I knew I looked like Celine Dion. When you get taken for star, it can't be bad! Have been here a couple times for an eyebrow wax. First time they started nearly 30mins after my appointment time, but did give me a 50% discount for waiting. Everything is very clean, staff is professional, and for my second appointment it started on time and I was again pleased with how they shaped my brows. Waiting area is nice with tea, coffee, comfy couches. I have a very unpredictable schedule, so I like that they seem to have a lot of flexibility in their appointment schedule whenever I call. read more

The only, and I mean only, complaint I have is that one of the gel lights is quite fickle, turns off while in use.
