I have been going to Dolce Vita for a couple years. I am very picky and finally found someone who listened and could do what I wanted with my color and cut. While she was recently on maternity leave they put me with someone else. This person didn't do what I wanted at all-but it wasn't that bad. I hemmed and hawed and finally decided to reach out to them. Not only did I feel heard, but they salon owner re did my color and was nothing but lovely and nailed it! I am so happy that I found this place. I have very long, thick, stick-straight hair that many stylists struggle to cut correctly. I usually just want a simple trim and some long layers, but it often ends up getting messed up. I've been searching for a go-to salon for a while, and I've finally found it. After a disappointing trim at another salon, I was desperate to find a place to fix it. I called around frantically, and luckily, Dolce Vita had an opening for me that day. They initially told me haircuts start at $70, but when I explained I just wanted a dry trim without any shampoo, blow-dry, or styling, they adjusted the price to a very reasonable $39. The woman who assisted me over the phone was very kind and accommodating. The salon itself is beautiful, and they have the cutest little salon dog named Dexter, who I was so excited to meet. Alley, my stylist, did an amazing job fixing my hair. She communicated with me every step of the way to ensure it turned out exactly how I wanted it. She also answered all my questions and offered great advice. I loved the extra touch of offering water, tea, or wine during the appointment. Everyone was leaving their appointments with gorgeous hair and looking very happy with their service. I've been seeing all these cool scalp treatments online and thought I'd give it a try. So I found a great this salon in the heart of Sonoma County. I booked with Natalie. I booked the Crown Renewal. Super easy booking system. I got there and there was plenty of street parking. I walk up and see they have a fun welcome sign and it had my name on it. Really nice touch I thought. The salon itself was is so pretty. Very clean and lots of fun energy. Natalie was absolutely lovely. The owner Kim was there as well and very kind and welcoming. She took me into her room and wow from atmosphere to the smell it was totally relaxing. I could have slept there for hours! She took time to explain the whole experience so we could then have a quiet service time for full relaxation. Before the service Natalie has a device that shows your scalp at quite the magnification so it shows all the build up and wow that was an eyeful. She took so much time answering all my questions. The service it self was so relaxing omg literally felt like I was floating. I never wanted it to end. There was steam, washing, full exfoliation ( which was heaven on earth) and conditioning. Also shoulder, arm and hand massage. I mean this service was EVERYTHING! After the service itself she uses her device to show you your clean scalp and WOW is all I can say!!! The service ends with an amazing blowout. They use insanely high end product lines. I left there literally feeling brand new!! I highly recommend Natalie as well as this epic service. I can NOT wait to go back!!! I'd give her and this service 1000 stars if I could. As well as a treat for youself this would make an incredible gift. read more

Since 2018 all hair care has been done at an Aveda salon in Carmel-by-the-Sea. This year I missed my post-Xmas visit to Carmel--hence no hair care. (Might sound like a crazy arrangement, but I tell my stylist, "Okay, Letty, I'll be back in April so this needs to be a four month cut" based upon my next scheduled return. Well past my four month mandate, I didn't feel like making a 7 hour round trip for a wash-cut-blow dry. Tired of "combing" the reviews, I decided to take the plunge with La Dolce Vita. Lucky for me, the pool had been filled prior to my arrival. Ann Marie is, first and foremost, an artist that is highly skilled at her craft. She is also well-informed, capable of engaging with intelligence on topics well beyond the cocktail-party type of idle prattle characteristic of so many stylists while being held captive in their chairs. AND SOME WORDS ARE DESERVED ABOUT HER GENTLENESS: Having osteoporosis, getting my head over a sink for shampooing can be challenging and painful. She was immensely considerate and patient in making this process as pain-free and comfortable as possible. As well, measures were taken to ensure that no water would be running down my back during the shampoo process. Also much appreciated (a dead give-away of my septuagenarian status): an obvious lack of visual tattoos. So, granted, my comments are based on one experience, but an experience that was worthy of a review. And I most certainly will return and update my review(s). I have been waiting a while to write this, but I think y'all should know how I was treated. TLDR: Don't take your money here, they don't deserve it. I had an appointment scheduled for a vivid colour with my regular stylist. I arrived only to find out my stylist had left that salon. Natalie said it was no problem, Alina could take me on. I was very appreciative that they had space for me. At least that's what I thought was the case. It turns out that they did not have me on the books, and they squeezed me in between other clients. Instead of doing the adult thing and telling me they didn't have room for me, Natalie stressed out the stylists who had to scramble to work on me, and wasted my time. I was there for 6 hours. I'm usually only there for 2 hours. Natalie did ask me if I had anywhere to be, which I didn't, but that doesn't mean I wanted to spend all day at the salon. I was hungry, I was bored, and it was disrespectful of my personal time. Credit where credit is due, Alina was so sweet to me, as were the other stylists who were forced to work on me. I think they did the best they could with a bad situation. But nothing turned out right. I asked for a bright blue, I got a dark blue. They left the bleach on my head so long that I got a gnarly chemical burn. I let Natalie know that one side of my head was a little warm and itchy, and she said it was fine. To make up for all of this, Natalie gave me a complimentary hair mask. Not something I wanted, but she tried in her own way to make it right. A few days later I got an automated email that was a "How did we do?" survey. I took the survey and was honest. I did not have a great experience. Let me be clear, this survey was not a public review, as this is now. This was internal feedback, and I was kind but firm. Natalie calls me after seeing that review and the conversation that followed on the phone was the ugliest blame fest I have ever experienced. Natalie tells me it is my fault for not saying the bleach was burning me, it was the stylist's fault who left and didn't tell me to cancel my appointment, and for God's sake I got a free hair mask out of it, I should be grateful! She shouted over me, negated everything issue I had, and basically made me feel like I was in the wrong. Never once apologized for the trouble I went through. Never offered to refund all or any of the $450 I spent. I had to end the call by saying "This conversation is going nowhere, I'm going to have to end the call here." Immediately when I walked through the door I felt jubilance from every staff member and was so warmly welcomed. They all love what they do and it shows! I was even offered an amazingly chilled bubbly water for a really hot summery day. Such care and thoughtfulness to provide in this heat. Natalie took great care of me!! I was so relaxed I took a nap in the chair! I've never had that before. Completely trust in her and her expertise. I was reluctant to get a hair trim because I'm always anxious the hair stylist won't listen (they might cut more off when my hair is already a turtle at growing ) or I'll be upset about no longer being used to my mane (even if it needed some pampering) and I worry about still being able to tie it up neatly. Natalie is so considerate and always made sure I was comfortable. She gave me hair looking healthy, long and luxurious. I saw Jene' and am blown away by how talented and awesome she is! I just moved to the area and had one haircut by someone locally. It was consistent with the haircuts I have been getting for the last 10 years. I gave up on liking my hair. I went to get it cut trying to have zero expectations but it's hard when you are spending ~$100. I inevitably ended up cutting it myself once I got home to try and fix it. It was beyond disappointing and I have been tired of tying my hair up every day of my life. I went here based on the Google reviews. The receptionist was patient and helpful after I told her about my challenging hair (half gray and straight/ half dark and curly/ thinning on top). She recommended Jene' and I could not be happier. Seriously. Despite my taking photos to all my previous hairstylists I still walked away with cuts that were nothing like them at all! Jene' did exactly what I asked for.
