I'm giving WHITNEY MILLSTONE 1 because 1st appointment I made with her she missed and I had to reschedule for a later date. Also, her business skills leave much to be desired. I came to her as a new client to get a head of baby lights for $150, which was the price I could afford. When I came back just for the touch up, (no more than 1/4 of my hair), she did exactly the same service, which naturally was much much faster, while also working on another woman at the same time. I kept wondering if the foils were in too long, as my hair processes very quickly. Finally, I said something, and I got a smart response back about how I only needed to wait one more minute and then she would be there. This made me feel like I was on the edge of my seat, and I was paying to be there! Then, when it came time to pay my $150, she gave me a bill for $285, justifying it by saying I only come in once a year. I come in twice a year, and regardless of my frequency, that does not give her the right to nearly double her rate for the same service. I paid the bill, although I realize now that I should not have. I feel I was scammed. A quicker service should cost less money, and I did not ask for a blow out, which she charged me for. I needed to get out of there and get to work, which I was late for after how long the blowout took....and of course that was $30. The first time, it was free, and she made no indication that this would be changing. Save yourself the frustration (and deep digging into your personal life with many questions), and go somewhere that has honest business practices and upfront pricing. Update for Twyla: Yes, I happily have found another salon to take my business to and all of those that follow my recommendations. Trying to twist the scenario by saying the rates were old is ridiculous. I was quoted $150 on Nov 23, 2024 and never told the price was changing when I came back in the spring. When calling around to multiple salons the last few months asking if this experience was normal, ALL of them said I was scammed, and that I should ask for my money back. They all said I was way overcharged when I came back and that $285 made no sense for a touch up without a base break or any other treatment. My appt was just over a month ago - i have cried every day since-/ the owner cut my hair -i paid $250 plus a $50 tip ( cuz thats polite ) i bought $250plus in hair products The hair cut was free with the color i had my grey roots done - they dont match the color of my brown hair I have yet to see the highlights that she said would appear after 2-3 shampoos - i went in wanting my long hair to have some long layers . She chopped the top part of my hair and left me with a joan jett look - at first i said oh looks great love it because i needed her to stop cutting my hair - i messaged her letting her know i was so upset she offered to fix it i went back asking her to try and blend what she did she started cutting more and more i said i loved it so i could go - she was saying how she didnt take much off the length and how she could see the red highlights had come through i figured she was just out of her mind and i wanted out of her chair (the second visit was like a week after the first ) obviously there was nothing that could be done the damage was done and who knows how many years it will take to grow back / i messaged her to let her know and her response was obviously she was not the hair dresser for me - going there was the worst decision i have ever made i have since stopped looking in the mirror and am saving so i can buy hair extensions I realize it was my bad for trusting a stranger . I don't normally write negative reviews ever! But definitely felt the need to do so here. I was referred to Twyla by a friend who had a haircut and highlights that looked good. My first experience with Twyla was just ok. I wanted her to fix my base color which another hairdresser had done which I wasn't happy with. She did fix that but she toned my hair too which ended up washing out my highlight. Not sure why she chose to do that. But I did let her know I didn't like my toned hair and went back to her. She fixed the problem so I felt that it would be ok to go back to her in the future. I set an appointment for several weeks out to do highlights, cover gray and do a haircut. Initially it looked good. But the next day I looked at my roots and saw gray! Especially at my hairline! I had another hairdresser check it out for me and there were several areas that gray. Obviously she did a poor job of covering my gray. I did not feel comfortable going back to Twyla to fix the problem. I lost trust in her ability to do a good job. I paid Twyla $175 and then had to pay another hairdresser to fix the problem. I did reach out to her and asked if she would refund me. She said no. I find this very unprofessional. The friend who initially referred Twyla to me had her hair done recently. She had highlights done and a haircut. This was her 2nd visit to Twyla. The first one went well so she went again. Twyla cut a chunk out of her hair which you can see from the pictures I posted! When she confronted Twyla she defended herself and then told my friend she needed to show her a better picture of what she wanted in the future! Obviously she cannot take accountability for her actions. I would never recommend Twyla. She has been in the business a long time and should know better! Holly has completely transformed my hair. She's given me a great cut, an Olaplex moisture mask and added dimension with lowlights and highlights. One of the WORST salon experiences I have ever had. Inconsistent with an awful bedside manner. Quality of service does not match previous reviews or location. Definitely more of a great clips vibe rather than the upscale experience I was going for. I had booked an appointment 5 days in advance for my sister who was coming from Oregon. I provided Twyla with several pictures of her hair and a picture of what she was hoping to achieve. My sister is already blonde but dirty blonde. All she wanted was a lighter more fluid blond. Not like we were asking for the moon. So Twyla and I agreed on a time and a price and she was enthusiastic about the appointment but when my sister got there, Twyla was rude and not agreeable at all. Not only had she claimed that she hadn't set the appointment for the time I had in the texts we exchanged but she also acted as if she was unaware of the work she had cut out for her even though I gave her several pictures of my sister's hair and what she wanted. This is why she was asking for $325, because, in her OWN words (Sure, we can do that no problem it's going to be 325 and that includes all the treatments the toner a light trim if we need it a blow dry just a lot of time a lot of work) which I would have been happy to pay. I would have even paid the $480 she changed it to when my sister got there had she not been so indecisive and unprofessional. After I spoke with her on the phone and she was incapable of holding herself accountable and immediately got defensive we ended the conversation on a heated note. I had to tell my sister to walk out and I took her somewhere else. We were told by another salon professional that what she was asking for was not at all unreasonable like Twyla made it seem. Very bizarre behavior on her part. Like I stated before. More of a great clips vibe rather than the upscale experience I wanted my sister to have. read more

I came to this salon to see Sarah who I had seen a couple times previously outside of this facility. She was always super friendly and transparent with me. I went to her telling her about how I wanted a mommy makeover to feel confident, she said absolutely. I told her the idea was to take me from a dyed brunette to a blonde. I knew it was going to be a process and I was totally okay with that. The first appointment she sat me down waited for her Twyla to leave and said f*ck it I'm gonna bleach ur whole head. She used a 40 volume developer which she did say she was going to use. I trusted her enough that my hair was in good hands. She left it on for about 40 minutes under a heater and got me to a reddish color which I was actually loving and felt I had some damage but to be expected. She told me she wanted to see me back in about 4-6 weeks to do another session. I was completely happy that day with me hair and went back for the next session. She immediately threw on 40 volume again and at this point I say my hair go platinum blonde. I was looking for something more natural so she toned afterwards and went to blow dry after at that time I noticed my hair seemed gummy. She completely fried my hair and I stupidly paid for it because I'm just too nice of a person but I highly suggest finding a better stylist who TRANSPARENTLY AND SAFELY, does hair. I don't know about any of the other ladies here but Sarah has a lot to learn. Please learn from me as I went to get a second opinion on my hair and was told it may take years to get any growth back for my hair. She completely ruined my hair, lacked professionalism, and needs some serious training! read more

When I went for the second ("repair") cut, I showed her some pictures of the ways I would be interested in wearing my hair. Though I don't recall asking her about my current style, she openly criticized it, and still didn't cut my hair the way we agreed. She has sent me critical text messages, privately, attacking my character in response to my review here, which is a public forum.
