    St viateur bagels.

I never doubt my friend to pick a good spot, so when I woke up in Montreal and my friend wanted to come here for breakfast, there were no questions asked. Beautys is presenting old school standard American diner, with a twist. The twist is Montreal obviously. The menu is vast, as expected from a diner. You can do a lot of things with eggs and bread. I am not a huge breakfast person so I usually order the very standard "two eggs with meat" breakfast. Theirs wasn't too much different than other diners, but it included an excellent treat, it was served with a fresh bagel from St. Viateur, which we did visit the day before as a must stop. The rest of the breakfast was good and standard. I thought my friend's breakfast sandwich looked a little underwhelming since it wasn't served with any sides for like $13, but he seemed content. The meal was good, coffee was good, service was excellent. Our casual conversation with the server was great and definitely added to the experience. Such a bright, fun, welcoming spot to find yourself in. While it might not be a destination worthy restaurant, it's worth a visit while in Montreal for a solid breakfast.

We visited Beauty's on a Friday around 1:30. We were seated right away although they were almost full. Smaller and retro style Luncheonette. Ordered coffee for Brunch which was strong and bold. A good amount of options for breakfast and lunch. My friend ordered the Tuna Melt. Cheddar cheese and balanced tuna salad made for a tasty sandwich. I ended up ordering Mish Mash and didn't regret it. Invented here although other local breakfast spots offer it. As the name suggests, it is an Omelette with a few ingredients (Hot Dog, Salami, onions, green peppers) that work nicely together and make for a delicious Brunch entree. Not that sides are necessary but it comes with Home Fries and Bagel or Toast. Delicious and a must try! Our server, Maite, took great care of us. She talked us into having dessert. Specifically, their house made Banana bread. They warm and crisp it on the grill. We got one with chocolate chips and one sans. Tasty and not too sweet and was perfect with our coffee. We wanted a Mish Mash T shirt but they were sold out. A Montreal favorite that has been around for over 80 years. Don't miss the Mish Mash and Banana Bread!

Not sure why this place has the rating it has, it's delicious. If you're looking for a reliable, good breakfast place add this to your stop. Loved the ambiance of old diner feel mixed with modern vibes of MTL, overlooking the sidewalks and busy streets. Food was fresh and not greasy. We had breakfast plate and then French toast and coffee was hot/comforting! The only reason for 4 stars was because we felt rushed by staff, but the place is small and they were busy. We walked right in but many others had to wait after us! Definitely would go back!

Omelette, pancakes, eggs, sausage, potato, toasted sesame bagels were very good. Real maple syrup costs $3 for small jar, can take home. Table syrup is free. Bathrooms available, extensive menu.

Old, family owned and operated brunch restaurant - so good that the line extends outside, even in winter. And definitely worth it - although we arrived at a sweet spot and got seats within minutes of arriving. Amazing atmosphere, brilliant food, very good price.

This third generation family luncheonette is in it's 81st year making it a true Montreal institution. Over the years many celebrities have passed through their doors, and their walls are covered with the autographed photos from the likes of Rob Lowe, Ben Kingsley, Gary Busey, Lou Diamond Phillips,...@beautysmtl perfected brunch decades before brunch was a thing. Their Mishmash sings to the soul of every foodie and their sister. The Mishmash is medley of eggs, hot dog, salami, fried onions and green peppers served with savoury grilled potatoes and a toasted bagel. Best served with their freshly squeezed orange juice.

a true montreal classic and 100% the best diner in the city! Well worth the wait outside and the retro feel of the place is so comforting. I love making the stop here whenever I am in the mile end!

Never realized this place was here until I was doing my groceries at the provigo out front and I was waiting for my bus which is right in front of this restaurant. A cool old school brunch place! The decor is great. Only downside is it's really hot inside, it doesn't help that it's been way more humid than usual in Montreal lately. There was also flies flying around everywhere so the dining in experience wasn't great. I ordered a chocolate milkshake (good), the mac and cheese (only soso) and Adam got the salami sandwich and the blueberry milkshake (Good blueberry flavour and interesting aftertaste). I definitely want to come back and try their brunch options because I don't feel like I got the full experience.

This brunch place is a Montreal classic. It is a must try when living in/visiting Montreal. We arrived on a weekend at noon and were seated within 20 minutes (for a group of 4, that's pretty good). The line was not so bad considering it was a weekend and the perfect time for brunch. The hostess was super friendly and kept trying to get as many people inside the restaurant as possible to keep them warm. I ordered the salami omelette and was quite satisfied. It came with a bagel and potatoes on the side and I found it to be priced fairly reasonable for such an establishment. The bagel came out toasted and so the butter melted right on top of it. The potatoes were sort of mashed up and crisped to get some crunchy texture which I found to be amazing and very different from most brunch restaurants. As for the salami omelette, I loved it. It had enough saltiness from the salami that it did not need additional seasoning. The salami pieces were not cut up into pieces allowing you to actually taste it and size then yourself. Also, there was much more salami than I had expected but not too much that it was overpowering. Overall, delicious meal. The service, however, was alright. I found that each request I made was not received so pleasantly. For example, I requested a plate so that I can have a bite of my girlfriend's challah French toast and felt like it was a sin to do so! It did get better though. I requested some more water later on and found that our waitress made more of an effort of being more friendly. The challah French toast by the way was amazing! It was cooked perfectly and had the perfect texture that it would just melt in your mouth. The syrup was also given "on tap" which is now, unfortunately, a plus! (Some restaurants now charge for syrup...). Overall, I really loved coming here as a kid and still do love coming here as an adult. Their portions are perfect and their prices are still reasonable. Can't wait to come back!

Classic spot when in Montreal. Comfort food, cozy feels and great service. If you find yourself in Montreal, make a stop at Beauty's.

We stayed…read moreat Le Mount Stephen Hotel without doing much research on dining options, assuming we'd just find something nearby. But before even checking in, we had to walk through Bar George ~ and instantly knew we wanted to eat there. We were lucky enough to grab a last-minute reservation, and Julien took a good care of us throughout the evening. His recommendation of the Beef Wellington was spot on (it's already one of our favorite dishes), but this was hands down the best we've ever had. I ordered the lobster risotto, which was excellent with just the right amount of spice. My son had the 10 oz striploin steak with homemade fries (chips), and it was absolutely delicious. I also loved the Canadian touch of coarse salt on the steak, plus the option to choose between Béarnaise or peppercorn sauce. Julien also mentioned their pastry chef placed second in a NY competition, and the desserts absolutely lived up to that reputation. We tried the pineapple and coconut pavlova and the "lick me hazelnut" ~ both beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. We also ordered iced coffee and a latte, and noticed something interesting: this was the second place where we found Canadian coffee to be smooth and mild ~ such a nice change from the often bitter, over-roasted American coffee. Yes, dinner was a bit steep ($300+), but it was worth every penny. Between the rich history, stunning design, outstanding service, and unique cuisine, I would highly recommend Bar George. I would absolutely love to come back!!

While the restaurant is highly celebrated and located within a Michelin-recognized hotel building, it does not hold a Michelin star of its own. But it is extremely classy. We decided to do lunch instead of dinner and it was a little more our speed, but if very, very attentive waitstaff is not your thing and $200 for lunch I'd skip this spot. We went because it had reviews for amazing beef Wellington and my husband hadn't had any in decades. And we were on vacation so let's go! The food was beautifully plated and service was impeccable inside of an amazingly decorated dining room that looked like a library in a mansion. The meals themselves weren't obscenely expensive but add a glass a wine, bread (it was not included) and coffee and it put us close to $200. But it was a great experience and I had never had beef Wellington - it was melt in your mouth good. Might go again next time we come up from CT.

Food was just okay; foie gras was overly sauced. Service was the main issue. My cappuccino was mostly foam, and the replacement was still charged on the bill. The bar is first come, first served, so if you forget to book ahead, it's definitely worth trying your luck. You can still order anything from the full menu. The modern, upscale interior sets the tone for a fancy brunch experience that feels both elegant and welcoming. Foie gras for breakfast? Absolutely yes. They also have a full bar for anyone who wants something pretty to sip on while enjoying their meal. The servers were bilingual in French and English, and they were kind, attentive, and made the whole experience smooth from start to finish. My goal was to eat as much foe grais as I can on this trip so I ordered the Foie Gras Poached Eggs. OMG starting off with the bread that was on the bottom, it was so soft and fluffy. Literally melted in my mouth. The foie gras had a beautiful sear and was rich and silky, with a texture that honestly reminded me of ice cream. There was also a touch of sweetness in the sauce that cut through the richness in the best way. Every bite was perfectly balanced. I was super impressed and will absolutely try to visit again the next time I'm in Montreal.
