Took a walk to the secret swing, beautiful views!

Enjoyed our stay at the Stonehouse B&B. Took our kids for a weekend getaway and got to do some wine tasting as well. The vineyard was fun to walk through as we made our way to the secret swing. Will definitely be back!

(Doesn't have to be romantic; can also be fun with girlfriends!) This is an absolutely beautiful 3-bedroom home equipped with everything you can think of for a good time: full kitchen, dining area, patio with BBQ grill, fire pit, plenty of tables and chairs, and we even saw hammocks hanging on some trees! The rooms can be individually booked, or you can book all three for your friends and family. The home sits on a vineyard, so you get to taste their delicious wines. In the dining/living room area, you have access to games and a projector that is connected to Apple TV, so you can project a movie on the wall! How cool is that?! DANIEL gave us the best wine-tasting experience we have ever had. His explanations were thorough and very interesting. It went beyond the "peppery notes with hints of berries" descriptions you usually get at wineries. He explained the winemaking process because he has done it all, from planting grapes to making wine. And he was very kind and patient with all of our questions. And up the hill a little bit there is another home that they rent as well, and if it is vacant, you get full access to the pool! Another thing I appreciated now during covid is that the entire home was very clean! No carpet in the rooms (which makes it feel instantly cleaner already), the sheets smelled of fresh laundry detergent, and the shower was spotless. The rooms also have beautiful wooden patios. And then in the morning, we got a delicious hot breakfast by Gunay! She was so sweet and hospitable. On a sad note, they no longer have the llamas or sheep. But it is still a great experience! Also, don't be scared when you are following the GPS to arrive here! It's literally in the middle of no where! In conclusion to my short novel, we will definitely be returning with friends and enjoy all of the amenities!

But we were racing against time to reach a supposed tasting room before 5pm. We shouldn't have worried. The owner/winemaker at Noggle pours his wines out of the garage of his house. We knocked on his back door and a short time later we were drinking truly amazing cabernet sauvignon. Noggle is a one-man operation, a delightful, low key, interesting operation with what seems to be a cult following among other Lake County wine people. Everywhere we went those in the know were either recommending we go to Noggle or sharing their rave reviews. It was all justified. Take the trip down the long, windy road to find this place. Support a small business, and a passionate winemaker making fantastic stuff!

What a pleasure to be the first to review this gem!…read more Let me preface by saying that it's possible that I'm a little biased... as an owner of our own small family winery, I actively seek out other wineries that are like us. Knowing what a labor of love such an endeavor is, I always want to support the efforts of the little winery. Biased or not....let me tell you this.... Michael Noggle is making some truly outstanding wines! We tasted two Cabs and a Sauv Blanc. All three were truly top notch wines. I can only believe that such great wines are the pay-off that comes when you single handedly participate in every step of the winemaking process, from the planting of the vines all the way to bottling, the way that Michael does. We visited a couple of the better known Lake County wineries on this trip and while we tasted some pretty good wines all around, none of them held a candle to Noggle! The tasting room experience is also the way I belive it should be... small and intimate (you're basically tasting in his garage) and filled with great first-hand information from Michael himself. So please visit Noggle. Support the little guy....and in doing so, bring home some really fantastic wine. It's a win-win situation!

The only thing that wasn't perfect was the weather, overcast and cloudy with some sun finally appearing toward the end. But still had some amazing views. The wines were all very good with some being standouts. The number and size of the tastings were more than acceptable. Our host Jazzlynn was personable and informative. She had nothing but positive things to say about the winery, owners, winemaker and working there--all pluses in my book as I love supporting family-run businesses who care about their employees. The drive up the mountain to get to Wild Diamonds in Lake County is nice and also provides for the great scenery while tasting in the "rooms with a view". With enough notice (48 hours) they can have charcuterie boards available for you. I thought I also heard them say you're welcome to bring your own--but don't quote me on that... verify! If you want to get away from the commercialized options in Napa and Sonoma, you won't go wrong at Wild Diamonds!
