Great place to get a ton of food for cheap. A gigantic leg of lamb sandwich wrap is $9 and absolutely delicious. Big chunks of meat with veggies and a delicious lemon-mint mayo sauce. But watch out for the raw onions because they'll kill your breath. They have dine-in seating in the back, but I was just getting food to go. What an experience and a unique take on the middle east, right here in Brooklyn. It has a very small, quaint dining area. However, it also has an outdoor patio - which I'm willing to bet creates an amazing atmosphere in the warmer months. I decided on the chicken plate, my friend a lamb plate and both were delicious and the homemade hummus is to die for. We also tried the citrus drink, against the recommendation of our server. He said it wasn't good. We tired it anyway and loved it. It was really citrus-y and made for a good supplement to our pita, salad and chicken. I'd recommend this hidden gem to anyone. I've been here a couple of times, most recently for dinner on a Thursday night. I really like this place since they bake their pita bread fresh, you can smell it from outside. You can watch them make it by hand in the front. We ordered the lambajin pitza and the chicken plate. The lambajin pitza had ground lamb, onion, tomato, parsley & spices on their freshly baked pita. The chicken plate had grilled marinated chicken, salad, hummus, and their freshly baked pita. The lambajin pitza was okay, actually prefer their cheese pitza more. It could be because I like cheese more in general. The chicken plate was tasty and the ingredients were fresh. Their homemade hummus was creamy and the best part of the meal. I got delivery tonight and it took 20 minutes from ordering to the food arriving at my door. We live minimum ten minutes away by car or bike. The meat-eaters might like the merguez sandwich while I stick with things made of pita, falafel and hummus. The rice pudding and baklava are amazing. The lamb pizza caught me off guard as well...it was not as flavorful as I would expect it to be, but as time passes by, there would be a stronger taste as I ate more. I guess, the spices accumulated? I don't like how the pizza were hard to cut into slices. I was worried from time to time that parts of my pizza would fly outta the metallic plate. Conclusion: This place is a nice place to get a quick and easy and cheap meal. I have a problem with their menu though since when we received our check, the prices were different. I'm continuously on the hunt for great Middle Eastern food in NYC, and one of the best indicators that you've stumbled upon something good is the waft of freshly baked pita as soon as you open the door. Bedouin Tent Restaurant did not disappoint; you enter the restaurant to a small takeout/counter operation, and shuffle through all the good smells of the kitchen to a cozy dining room in the back. In order to try as many dishes as possible, I tried their combination salad plate ($11) with beets, feta, hummus, babaghanoush, tabouleh, and of course, a beautiful pillow of fresh pita bread. Each of my sides was awesome - super fresh and light. I only managed to take down half of my plate before I gave up, and the leftovers that night were even better. My coworker spent much of the next week craving the feta salad if that's any indication of how good it was. Now I'm dying to go back and try some of their falafel. But beware- cash only! read more

They make it fresh right in front of the house and they are seriously the best eaten on the spot "hot and fresh out the kitchen." They are so plain, yes, but they have a savoriness to them that can't be explained. Ugh, doughy and soft with pockets of steam coming out from where you ripped the bread. I'm salivating. Dip it into their baba ganoush, oooh girl. It really makes you wonder why more places don't make their own pita. I will say that as a falafel connoisseur, I've had better. Their falafels are a bit on the drier side, still good, but not great. I usually opt for the 5 choice salad. The reason I knocked off .5 stars is because you can't just walk in and buy pita bread for take out. You have to buy a side to get the pita. Which I understand, at a buck a pita, they would not be making much on pita alone. When I'm not dining in, I usually get a side of hummus or baba ganoush and get like 3 - 4 pita breads. The ones I can't finish I end up saving in the fridge and toasting for the next day. If I were rating this place on a bang-to-buck scale, it'd be a 5/5. Food is really A+ and very reasonably priced. Service is very fast and staff is very friendly. Plates are big - we got two dishes and had leftovers between two of us. Everything was seasoned perfectly, the pita bread was fresh and hot, the service was quick & friendly. I highly recommend trying the spinach & cheese pie appetizer; it'll remind you of a calzone when they bring it to the table. My only gripe was that the semolina cake seemed a little dry, but I'd be willing to try it again. I got the falafel plate which came with a salad and a side. I got the babaganoush for my side, which came with pita. Everything in the salad was super fresh and the pita came right off the grill. I ended up only eating half cause I was so full, but $15 for dinner and lunch the next day is a good good deal. Definitely a winner! Bedouin Tent is a gem of Middle Eastern (read: Jordanian) authenticity in the sea of NYC Middle Eastern food mediocrity. I can't underscore how much I love this place. Always affordable and feels like you are eating freshly made food from someone's kitchen. You will find real Jordanian food here (not the fraudulent crap that "The Halal Guys" serve). With the rapid gentrification of Atlantic Avenue, Bedouin Tent has persevered and I hope it never leaves due to high rent. It is *very* hard to find fresh, authentic, amazing Jordanian food in NYC - compared to Dearborn, Michigan, for example. When you enter, there is always an Uncle making fresh pita bread - which is always freshly baked, perfectly chewy and served warm. Favorites: 1) Falafel Sandwich: It is large, filling and under $5. A total steal and so delicious and healthy. 2) LENTIL SOUP: This is my favorite item on their menu. It's the real deal. Smooth, creamy, served with lots of lime/lemon and olive oil.
