This place was wonderful! We just decided to stop in while passing because we were hungry, I got a chicken sandwich and my partner got a falafel sandwich. They came cut in half and wrapped in foil which was perfect because we swapped one half and each got to try both. Simple and delicious. So satisfying. Oh how did it took so long to write this. This has been one of my two go to spot for Mediterranean food in NYC because if their food, service and price. Food quality is out fresh and delicious which probably the only things you needed to make it outstanding. We usually order sun-dried tomato pizza, definitely their salad mix and a meat or veggie entree to share. Btw that is for two people and it is plenty and filling. Mix salad you can pick 5 items and I suggest beet and grapeleaves roll. Hummus usually comes with your entree. Sun dried tomato pizza can be a hit or miss because they over cooked mine once but no big deal as burn cheese is heavenly. You definitely need to try other pizza as well such as lamb. Their cheese and spinach roll is always a thing I love to order but I place it at top 4th. I usually get one if I have friends joining us. Entree I would go for their lamb dish or chichen rice wrap up in a naan (ask them for the name). Price has went up a bit over the time but usually cheaper than most places in the area except McDonald's. For a table of 2, you can walk away with a full belly and weight $40 less. Usually most dishes go for $10 to $14 thou. Btw they don't serve alcohol and bybo isn't an option anymore. But do call them to confirm. Service can change if busy or not. Usually takes around 5 minutes to get your orders in and about another 10 for food to be served. You should be voice your need as they can be busy. Seating is limited to around 20 inside and outdoor is summer only. Backyard is lovely but can be some mosquito like everywhere else. I probably get one bite every time I am there in the back yard. cute little place, perfect to catch up with some friends, which is exactly what we did! all three of us ordered the merguez plates - two with babaghanouj and one with hummus. i was expecting the lamb to be spicy, as it was described. even with my high spice tolerance, i was disappointed by the lack of spice in the meat (i mean that in terms of HOT spice, not spices. in terms of spices, well done!) it was also too crumbly for my liking. going off of other disappointments, i was expecting the babaghanouj to be amazing, but i'd rather have had a storebought packaged version than the one we were given. the last thing i wanted to comment on was the salad. i normally love salad! so much so that it'll usually be one of the first things i start to eat (unless there's fries). this may sound a little *eye roll* of me, but i didn't like how big the pieces were; hence, didn't touch much of it. the reason i'm still giving this place 4 stars is because of the pita and the orange sauce that came with the plate. the sauce paired really well with the meat, despite the latter's crumbliness. i also really liked the quaint interior of the place and had a really nice lunch with my friends who i hadn't seen in a few months. despite this experience, i think i'd still give this place another shot. maybe it'll surprise me the next time around? ;) read more

Every time you pass by here you cannot help but notice the aroma coming out of the oven at the restaurant front. The falafel platter offers the best lunch option on their menu. For $7 you get the falafel, salad, and choice of hummus or babaganoush (I usually opt for the latter), and freshly baked pita bread. The falafel goes well with the slightly bitter sauce that accompanies the dish on the side. That is the same sauce they use in their chicken/falafel sandwich, but on the sandwiches they apply too much and it gets too bitter for my taste. Having the sauce on the side when getting the platter means you get to control the amount to your personal liking. The babaganoush and the hummus serve as nice dips for the pita. The bread does, however, have a tendency to dry out really fast when exposed to air, making you rush to eat it in order to savor the freshness. The lamb is very aromatic, and there's no trace of gaminess you often encounter from this meat. The portion could be bigger, however. The spinach and cheese pie is very filling and can serve as a meal in and of itself. There is a level of spiciness to it which I like. The sweetness of the caramelized onions is a nice counterpoint to the saltiness of the cheese. The Bedouin Tent is quite good. Does it deserve all the rave reviews? No, because nothing here will truly wow you. However, you can get a very solid meal here and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. read more

I was in the area and off a positive recommendation, I decided to try "Bedouin Tent Restaurant" in Brooklyn. Lucky for me she told me they don't take credit only cash so be prepared, I stopped at a ATM and got cash. Parking on Atlantic Ave is a nightmare so bus or subway are better options. Looking at the place it looks a bit run down, inside is no better. It needs work but employees a spirited crew. The owner recommended some items to me but I had my heart set in the spinach pie. I did get it and one he chose, the lamb wrap and then he told me to have a seat. There was seating in the back and it was packed with Brooklyn socialites, that talked politics and business while I waited for me food alone. I was on my lunch break I might add so I was riding solo, but I still enjoyed the atmosphere inside. When my spinach pie came out I really enjoyed it. The crust was pastry like and inside was full of mozzarella cheese and spinach. It was truly my favorite. When my main course came out I was surprised. It was long, really long. After a closer inspection I noticed the pile on the toppings but short you on the lamb meat. I ate it however and enjoyed the pita a lot. That and the yogurt sauce were amazing. I wasn't that sold on the lamb because it was a bit fatty and hard to pull apart, but it was flavored correctly and that's what counts. I definitely enjoyed the meal and I will be back. When you walk in it feel like a to go pita place, but the back is a room with Jordanian blankets hung up on the walls, making you feel like you're in a real Bedouin tent. I ordered their falafel sandwich which was one of the cheapest items on the menu of about $6-7. I didn't think anything of it but the size of this thing was the size of a chipotle burrito but skinnier. There was so much that I was able to only finish half of it. pita bread was hot, soft, and crispy. the falafel almost tasted o so wonderful and the texture almost like moist meatballs! I swear when I was eating my left over later that day without reheating, the falafels tasted like meatballs and it was so great. Other people seems to be eating soup and pita at the restaurant and it really made me want to try it. Perhaps next time I come, I'll order the soup and pita bread. I think this place is CASH only. Maybe only the TOGO area is cash only but at the restaurant, i just paid cash without asking whether they took CC or not. Horrible experience. They call themselves stuffed pita but it is anything such. They put the least amount of falafel in a falafel pita. First insisted that I pay tax by cash and did not get a receipt. Then they present me with the pita and give me one napkin. I asked him for an extra napkin again as obviously it can get messy, but the guy was obviously upset. Then I go and try to falafel pita - and it tasted like horrible in my opinion. Had just two falafel balls in the entire pita, almost no sauce. Tasted like eating raw falafel balls. I wouldn't spend more than $3 on the sandwich. Definitely not the $8.70 they charged me. And even a $3 it's debatable as the taste is so bad in my opinion. You can get much better falafel sandwich for $5 at any stand in the Brooklyn or New York area. We ordered the assorted salad (choice of 5 salads) baba ganoush and hummus was mediocre, garbanzo beans with hardly any spinach and the only salad I liked was the beets. Also we got the chix ouzi based on reviews. It was bland and dry. Don't know why ppl race about it although someone did say it was bland! Also got the pizza with ground lamb and it was basically flat bread sprinkled with the ground meat which was also dry with small portions barely covered the flat bread. I have gone to this place several times in the past three years, the food has always been very good. But what my wife and I witnessed in the last two times we've been there, I feel I will not be returning. Some of the folks in the front counter handle the money and then with the same unwashed hands start making your pizza. On another occasion one guy is playing with his smartphone and then he comes starts making your food with his unwashed hands, not cool, unsanitary.
