They have a huge supply of local made beds, mattresses, pillows, sheets in all shapes and sizes for all prices including a room of latex. They're picky with their selection because they've been in the business so they a know a few things such as only buying a two sided mattress so you can get all your worth from it. A lot of their beds are commissioned only for them. Both times I went and with both salespeople, they were friendly and chill (not pushy at all), knowledgeable about their beds. I told them I needed a ridiculously long time to try out each bed and they were more than happy to comply, leaving me with a comfy pillow and letting me take as much time as I needed. I was really indecisive and needed a lot of information, and they were patient. They delivered my bed on time. It's not their fault I'm sensitive to flame retardants, esp. boric acid, so when I asked them to pick up the bed same day as I called, they made it work! The only complaint I can give is that when I came back in the store to find another, I talked to a very nice man who understandable didn't completely know all flame retardants and ingredients in the latex. He took some notes and said he'd call the supplier, but he never got back to me. read more

I dreaded going to search for a new mattress. So, I got onto yelp and narrowed down my stops to 3 stores. Bedrooms and More was one of them. Although the name sounds like it's going to be a Linen 'n things type of place, it is not. The staff was great - no too in your face - but attentive and really listened to what we wanted. We visited the two other stores but ended up back at Bedrooms and More to make the purchase. An added bonus - they work with regional mattress manufacturers. Thank goodness these guys are around! This is the only store that I can find in the greater Seattle area that sells mattresses (including CRIB mattresses) without flame retardants. And it's not just one kind - there are a plethora of options, at many price points. And, since it is a family owned business, the next generation is starting their families - which means they actually KNOW something about said mattresses and the furniture they sell because they don't want their babies sleeping on toxic beds, either. Ex: why something is more expensive, what the benefits are, etc. They won't try to sell you the most expensive thing, but merely explain what the differences are and what you are or aren't paying for. So, when I had a problem finding some hardware for a used bed frame, I began my search here. Mind you, this was not a problem related to aframe I purchased at the store. You would never know it by the way the staff went out of their way to help me. They spent a fair amount of time trying to locate some outdated parts for me. We just moved to the area from out of state and needed a new bed. We wanted an natural/non-toxic mattress that fit our budget. My husband heard advertising for Bedrooms & More on the local classical radio station, KING FM, and wanted to start out search there since they were easily accessible, supported public radio, are family-owned and operated, and advertised natural and organic options. We just left, and our King and Full size mattresses, and our upholstered King-size sleigh bed are supposed to be delivered tomorrow. We were very happy with the non-toxic options and prices, and think we'll be really happy with our choice. Ryan was very knowledgable and helpful, as was the other gentleman that we spoke to. We also met the owners and several other family members and staff who were very friendly and accommodating of our young kids that were shopping with us. In fact, the store was extremely welcoming and comfortable for children; there was a small, contained play area on the first floor with toys, and several of the owners' and employees' children and grandchildren were there as well. All in all, it was a great shopping experience at a great store with great staff. A great locally owned company that doesn't give you the hard sell when buying a mattress or bed. Beds are freaking expensive. I mean it's like buying a car, and the salespeople at some other places are really pushy about certain things, but here it was like I asked for I wanted and I got it without alot of push for things I didn't need. My fiancé and I had a great experience buying a mattress and frame from Bedrooms & More. Matt greeted us when we walked in the door and was very knowledgeable and helpful. He didn't cop an attitude when we told him our budget was pretty small, and he really helped us find a mattress that felt great and fit in our budget. I'm sure it's a part of his job to upsell the smalls - mattress covers, pillows, bedding - but he did so without pressuring us and we ended up buying a nice pillow for my fiancé and a mattress cover. Delivery was reasonably priced ($59) and the guys called about an hour before our scheduled window to say they could deliver early if it was convenient for us. They did a great job, were very friendly, and even set up the bed frame for us. Couldn't have been more pleased with Bedrooms & More. They can sell you a basic, inexpensive mattress and frame like ours all the way up to a fancy natural latex bed. Definitely recommend. read more

We loved the product and the service! I can't say it was cheap, but you get your money's worth! We didn't want to go all the way to Ikea (knowing that they don't really always have quality items); The first bed once you enter the store was the bed we picked, but in a dark brown. The "seller" didn't really pressure us, in fact he encourage us to ask questions and browse around the store; we went to the store with zero expectation on purchasing right away. We picked the delivery date; the seller showed us the purchase prior on going through! so we changed we got 1 pair of under drawers instead of 2. On delivery date, it didn't really take us very long to put it all together; and they even too our cheap metal bed frame (the basic type) and our spring box! Now our mattress feels better; we thought we needed a new mattress too; but I think it was just a weak box and frame. read more

I would be embarrassed to say how long I spent looking for a mattress. Because of multiple sensitivities and health issues, buying online was out; nothing with memory foam was an option; and most name brand inner spring mattresses reeked of chemicals. At the end of my rope, we drove all the way to North Seattle to Bedrooms and More as a last resort. My old mattress was at the dangerous point with springs sticking out! This was almost three years ago and I am very happy with my mattress. I am one of those hard to please customers, and frankly, there is nothing harder to buy than a mattress for anybody, so I was very happy that this worked out. The service from one of the family owners was way above average, especially for a furniture store: he was knowledgeable without being arrogant. Put the extra effort forth. Prices were reasonable for what we got...and I had looked at a lot of 10k and up mattresses. In fact, we were so happy, we called and ordered a pillow and a second identical mattress. We went here looking for a good quality wooden bed. They have some good quality furniture and mattresses. It's a family owned place the staff is very helpful and friendly. We ended up buying a nice bed for around $1000. They delivered the bed next day as promise. The guys who came in to fix the bed did a terrible job,the slats of the platform were of the wrong size. We called the store back and they fixed the bed for us within a few hours. I love the bed! Good quality and great price! Great service! And good quality furniture. We had a great experience buying our new, "real-adult" mattress from Bedrooms & More! Luis was a fantastic sales rep both at their outlet and the main store in Wallingford. He took the time to listen to our needs and encouraged us to try as many options as we wanted for upwards of 10min per mattress. He also made sure we had the right test pillows to fully complete experience and was able to help with a deal at the end. Delivery was fast and easy and so far we've really enjoyed our purchase. I can't say enough about the excellent customer service and products at Bedrooms and More. I bought a firm mattress as that has always been my preference. I was advised to sleep on it for a couple of months if I had any doubts about the comfort. Well, my aging body let me know that it is possible to have a bed that is too firm! I called the store about two months after my initial purchase, and was encouraged to come in and figure out a solution. After 30 minutes we decided that I needed to exchange my mattress. UPDATE: My bad. Just spoke with my salesperson, who was very helpful. Apparently, even though the name on the mattress is different than the name on the invoice, it is the same mattress. Not sure why, but that's that. I guess my anxiety about the whole mattress-buying experience (the expense, my lack of knowledge) led me to be distrustful. Their quick response to my concerns is impressive. And my salesperson also expressed his interest in my satisfaction -- if I am unhappy with the new mattress, we can work something out. Their focus on customer satisfaction and customer service is noteworthy. Original: They delivered the wrong mattress!! It is 6am, and I woke up thinking, "my new mattress is a lot firmer than I thought it would be." Feeling ambitious, I looked at the tags -- it is the wrong one! They delivered it two days ago. This is my second mattress, as I was unhappy with the first one I chose and they have a good exchange policy. I called the store to see if they had a set of sheets that would fit a Queen sleeper sofa with a mattress that makes it hard to tuck the sheet (who'd thought...). The fellow on the phone was very nice and said they had some in stock. When I arrived at the Wallingford location, a different gentleman said they didn't have any and what they had was for a specific soft and cost $220. He didn't offer to show me the sheets, find out the dimensions, or recommend another place to purchase these types of sheets. He clearly didn't want to help...Little do they know I was planning on purchasing a sofa from them. After this experience, I'll look elsewhere! read more

Nothing was cheap, but nothing was overpriced either (well, maybe the sheets but they are amazing sheets!) The bed frame was custom made at no extra price because I needed a lower headboard, and the final result is beautiful. We went to B&M on our third stop, having first visited the Seattle Mattress Co and Soaring Heart. All three businesses seemed to be first rate and treated us very well. At B&M we bought a King size natural rubber (from Vietnam) mattress made in Sumner Wa. It just felt better to my wife and I than any of the other 20 or so mattresses we tried. We love it. The sales and delivery process was excellent and we are now enjoying the best mattress we've ever experienced in our nearly 70 years. Fine people. Great product. read more

I had a Latex queen size delivered to CA and could not be happier. Buying a mattress can be confusing, so I truly appreciated how patiently Blake answered all my question. He knows his stuff and gave me great advise, without the typical sales talk. I looked at a similar latex mattress in a local store and believe I got a better quality mattress at a lower price, and that includes the delivery charges. Delivery was perfect btw, Blake timed it based on my request. After using it for a month now, I am extremely pleased and my back is appreciating the upgrade. Bedrooms and More gave me exactly what I wanted: a great bed and the confidence I didn't get ripped off in buying the great bed. I'd recommend the store to anyone ready to buy a real bed. I went to this store without much knowledge of what I was buying. My last mattress was cheap and awful; all I wanted was to avoid the same discomfort that had been plaguing me for the last few years. Upon entering I was greeted by Rachel, who proceeded to show me around. I cannot speak for all their staff, but she was knowledgeable amount the merchandise and the physiology involved with bed-human interactions. As I tried out beds, she explained why each bed was better or worse and justified price differences to my satisfaction. I settled on a mid-range bed with a 15-year warranty and it has been the best sleep of my life. Now, it cost me $1300 for the mattress, which may seem high, but understand quality does cost more. If you're not willing to invest in a good night's rest and just want a $300 mattress to sleep on for a couple months, don't bother. The costs of the bed accessories were reasonably priced and so was the delivery. It was the experience from a bed store one should have. Should I need a new bed before I leave Seattle, I'll come back to Bedrooms and More to get it. read more

A couple of months ago we were in desperate need of a new bed. My partner threw out her back and had to have surgery. Our old bed was one of those very expensive memory foam jobs but it was destroying her back becuase it sagged badly in the middle even though it was only a few years old. We found out about Bedrooms and More through Wallyhood.org and thought we'd check it out. Unfortunately, I had to go alone because my partner couldn't walk. The salesperson - Christopher - was amazing. She consulted with me for a long time about what we needed, especially with my partner's bad back issue. She insisted I try out quite a few beds and spend a long time on each of them, with a pillow, after trying out several. When I finally found one that seemed to be the thing, she again insisted I spend a long time on it - 20 minutes actually, to be sure of the comfort. She may literally have been the best salesperson I've ever had for anything! She was never pushy, extremely educated about the products and sleep needs in general, friendly and fabulously helpful. I ended up purchasing the bed (an Englander latex mattress), box springs and a wool mattress pad, plus a bunch of extras without exceeding the budget we'd planned for just a new mattress. Almost two months later, we are thrilled with the mattress. It does not sag, just as promised. It has no nasty chemical smell (all organic) and it's amazingly comfortable, even to a girl who just had back surgery! We have tried every kind of ultra-expensive bed out there on the market, from memory foam to inner spring to dual chamber air mattresses. This is the most comfortable and supportive mattress we've ever had the pleasure to sleep on. Plus, it makes us happy to use a natural, organic product purchased from a local neighborhood retailer. Shopped for my new mattress over the course of a month, made several trips there and got great service each time, regardless of who I was working with. Do NOT buy a latex mattress here without trying to flip it yourself to see if you can do it!! I bought one several months ago. Regret it so much. The salesman made flipping it look so ridiculously easy (folding it like a taco, then pulling the bottom out), I didn't test it. Much to my dismay, the thing is SO heavy that I have to recruit friends to come help me flip it -- everyone's favorite thing to do. Went up to Seattle to help the daughter move into her own place while she goes to school and collects body art. Very excited about the former but the latter... well that's a whole other Oprah. We needed to get a new bed. The sales person we had was great. Spent a lot of time with us and wasn't trying to push the most expensive frame and mattress on us. The quality of the mattress is great. We haven't gotten the daubed frame yet but the floor sample was of good quality. We had to wait because the unit my girl wanted was, of course, a custom build. The store have a a loner frame and delivered the next morning. I think you're better off going to this place as opposed to one of those factory stores. What a fantastic place! I was in yesterday to look at beds. I had an appointment with Christopher who greeted me with a big hug and offered me coffee and fruit. She spent about 5 hours.... between educating me on this type of botanical latex and wool product, and showing me possible mattress fits for my sleep style. I had time to rest on each for long periods to see how they feel. She really walked me through the process. She gave me her 100% attention until I was done. Again, about a 5 hour process for me... with this big of a purchase I wanted to be sure. I asked many questions and the owner, Jeff, was there to help out with ideas too. It was an amazing shopping experience. No pressure. I did find a bed and frame and pillow and I cannot wait for the delivery! I feel good that this was a locally owned business as well. I'll start off by saying that this company does live up to its great reviews here on Yelp. Our experience in dealing with them was one of the best customer experiences we've ever had. Our experience with the Bedrooms and More Woodlawn firm queen mattress, however, has been less than stellar. We did a ton of research before deciding what kind of mattress we wanted to buy and where we wanted to buy it. We were at the end of our rope with our old mattress, convinced that the horrible sleep it provided was negatively impacting our quality of life. Even though money was tight, we were desperate for a high quality mattress that would help provide some much-needed sleep, without a bunch of chemical junk, and would last a very long time. We figured the extra expense would be worth the investment in the long run. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the worst $2300 we've ever spent. Even worse, it took us longer than the 60-day trial period to figure out that we had made a big mistake in purchasing this mattress. For one thing, the firm eventually turned out to be too firm for us. It felt great at the store, but after a few months at home, we were both waking up with so much back pain that we ended up spending an increasing number of nights sleeping on the couch - incredibly disappointing given the amount we had spent on the mattress. We had been told prior to our purchase that it's better to buy too firm than too soft since you can always "soften" a firm by adding a softer topper. However, a topper costs several hundred dollars, and after already going way over budget on the mattress only to eventually find out it wasn't right for us, we didn't have the extra money it would have taken just to make the mattress tolerable to sleep on. Additionally, the mattress is supposed to be guaranteed not to lose its shape for at least a decade, if I remember correctly. Ours, however, has shifted. Within six months of buying it, we noticed that when viewing the mattress from either the head or foot end, it's shaped more like a parallelogram than a rectangle. It's as if the inner layers are not stacked directly on top of one another, but rather are slightly askew. We weren't sure if it had been that way the whole time or if it had slowly worked its way out of alignment (although not THAT slowly, since we were only six months in). Also, my partner swears that the firmness of the mattress is not uniform, as he can feel some areas that are softer than others. I haven't tested that out myself since I hardly spend any time on the mattress at all anymore. We've both had much cheaper (albeit chemically-laden) mattresses that were easier on our backs and provided much better sleep. Now we're out $2300 for a mattress neither of us can live with, and we have no option but to sell it and hope that we can recover enough money to buy a mattress we can actually sleep on. I wish we could say our experience has been as good as the vast majority of other reviewers here, but it just wasn't in the cards for us. I would still recommend Bedrooms and More, but I would suggest trying out their mattresses for as long as possible, on several different days before spending a good chunk of your hard-earned money on one. And, purchase at a time when you're fairly sure you won't be going out of town for the next 60 nights, so you can spend as many of those nights as possible trying out your new mattress. read more

A few months ago, my partner and I were both having serious back problems and decided to buy a new mattress and box spring. We went to Bedrooms and More on a Saturday evening, not realizing that it was nearing their closing time. We met Wendy, one of the owners, in the old store, and she happily walked us over to the new store with the beds. I don't know how long we were there but it was at least two hours, and we tried many, many different mattresses. Wendy was so sweet, personable, and patient. We went in thinking we were going to spend a certain amount, but ended up spending much more than this and were happy to do so. Wendy was very knowledgable and made suggestions based upon what we told her were our needs, particularly concerning the back pain we were both experiencing. She checked on special pricing for several different mattresses, and then once we had finally decided on a particular mattress (which was after closing time), she helped us choose a mattress topper, pillows, and other bedding. By this time, since the store had closed, the other owner, Jeff, had come to say "hello" to us. It felt as if we were buying a bed from two friends who cared that we get exactly the best items for us. And although this will sound unbelievable, our backs were 100% better after sleeping only one night on the new mattress, and have continued to be much, much better. We highly recommend Bedrooms and More. Yes, much of what they sell is more expensive than other stores, but if you want a high quality, non-toxic bed, and want to buy it from people who take the time to ensure that you buy what really is best for you, this is the place to go. read more

I studied how to mattress shop at consumer reports before hitting pavement. From what I gathered, mattress shopping can be difficult and expensive; there's no rubric for scoring a mattress, and retailer A may describe the same mattress differently than Retailer B. If consumers can't compare products, they can't compare prices, giving retailers a slight edge. Also, you should never pay full price for any mattress. Ever. There are sales, there are deals, there are negotiations. This information was put to good use at Bedrooms & More. I was greeted by a sales person that asked pertinent questions to understand my price point and comfort needs. It seemed simple and upfront: "Do you have a preferred firmness?" "Do you have a price you'd like to stay under?" We covered a lot of the store and I tried about 5 beds. However, as time flowed, the "family owned and operated" facade cracked and through it sprang the same sales tactic found at larger mattress stores: make it difficult for the consumer to compare mattresses between competitors by spouting unconfirmable facts. "This bed has 1000 individually wrapped coils." "This bed has superior natural latex that compresses less than 10% over a decade." "Brad & Angelina sleep on this bed." Since no one is likely to cut open a mattress, peek into Brangelina's bedroom, or be able to compare percentages of wear&tear, many consumers are better off laying on a bed in solitude, judging comfort and researching brands on their own. After connecting me with a mattress that was full price, the sales person stonewalled when it came to sweetening the deal: No there were no sales. No there were no throw-ins. He wouldn't even consider free delivery (a standard at other stores) and--worst of all--he had no suggestions of his own. At this point, I'm guessing the typical consumer would either buy or walk away. I chose to laboriously visit other stores. After finding a better deal on a *similar* mattress, I came back to Bedrooms & More to try one more time (the mattress felt slightly better, but did not warrant full price). After mentioning the better priced mattress, I was startled by how fast the sales person changed tactics and offered price matching. Overall, this was good practice for big ticket shopping. I think I got a quality product at a fair price (time will tell), but I had to work for it. To me, that is barely a 3 star experience. read more

Let me start off by saying this store has a great selection of non toxic mattresses and the reason I'm giving this place 1 star. I'm just really disappointed with our experience with 'Chris.' We came in today with every intention to buy our 4 year old an organic cotton mattress and found some we liked, but didn't make a purchase because we were so turned off by her. She seemed annoyed an impatient, almost came off a little rude at times that I was asking her certain questions about each twin sized children's mattresses. I also wanted to just look/skim quickly (as we were in a hurry to leave) at their Latex mattresses for when we do decide to upgrade later and she went on and on about the history. All I wanted was to skim at their Latex mattress. I had to try to cut her off since we wanted to beat traffic, but she kept going on! Lol Really, I just came in looking to purchase a twin sized mattress right then and there but was so turned off because it felt as though she was just trying to pressure sell us rather than "listen" to us as customers I'm sure our experience would've been better had there been a different salesperson helping us. read more

A year into my new latex bed and topper and with several more trips to Bedrooms and More in between, I'm convinced this is one of the best natural bedding, furniture and mattress stores in the country in terms of selection and value. They also have their own brew of organic latex, available in multiple firmness levels that can be tweaked with latex and wool toppers. My own bed is ungodly plush, with a secret store of rock hard pressure relieving latex below. It's like swimming in pudding. Mmmmm... foamy, organic pudding that still supports the back! The value is unbeatable: I originally left with a 100% latex queen mattress, topper. bed frame (a solid, heavy piece of furniture), pillow, box spring and mattress protector for $2300, including delivery, assembly of my new frame and removal of the old mattress. We've returned to buy sheets, two more latex pillows and to try buckwheat pillows (which sound too much like Kraftwerk to get any sleep). They have organic bedding, yessiree, but the most important thing about that is that they get most everything they carry "on special purchase." Meaning near wholesale prices for their customers. I have never gone looking for something online after trying it here before, but last weekend they had run out of Queen bed sheets in the material I liked (sold at Bedrooms & More for $109/set). When I searched online, I was surprised to find that even at a substantial discount, the cheapest I could find these sheets for was $189. For the heck of it, I looked up some other special purchase sheets. I found savings of $100 per sheet set on several occasions, often more than 30%. I don't know how they stay in business! This store is a bit of an open secret in that way. It's run, down to the factories (the owner's son sourced a latex factory while on study abroad in Vietnam, I guess - and they pay a living wage), by an intensely ethical family. They only stock furniture that doesn't contribute to deforestation. In our most recent pass through, there was some mouthwateringly pretty bamboo furniture. They recognize us when we come in. We're happy there. I feel taken care of. Because sleep is an essential health function, that's so important. This store's wonderful because they partner with you to help you find bedding, pillows, etc to accommodate your changing needs. We stopped in as one of our choices to look at mattresses on person based on the reviews on yelp. Looking today I realized that it is based on less than 20 reviews. We were interested in latex beds with organic materials. The salesperson showed us the latex beds with the organic cotton flippable mattresses. When I noticed that the sides of the bed were a different fabric, I asked if that was organic cotton as well. She quickly said no. When I asked what it was. She replied that it was not cotton but the top and botton cover was organic cotton. We liked the mattresses but I was concerned that at the high prices that the organic materials should be used for the entire bed. Also it seemed instead of a natural conversation about what we are looking for it was forced with stilted questions. Along with the advice, unasked, to not consider cost since we were considering a mattress that would be the last one we will ever need once we had settled on two mattresses we liked. We went to a few other stores that also sell organic material beds and had a more relaxed process of trying out beds. No one asked us what kind of bed we had or if we were happy with it.
