I just went in to have my watch band adjusted and take a link out and the lady behind the counter was very attentive having me show her my watch on my arm to get an idea of how many links to take out. Got my ring sized smaller in lightning speed but I want to feel special so not going to say how fast...but Kay's told me two weeks! They cut that time in more than half! After receiving numerous calls to come pick up my jewelry I had to explain to them I would try my best to come in as soon as possible but it was hard for me during the week. I made preparations to come in during the week to pick up my jewelry. When I received the jewelry and did my own inspection, I noticed that the primary work I requested wasnt even completed. I was very annoyed at the fact that they rushed me to pick up my jewelry and did not even try to compensate me for the hassle of having the wait for them to complete the work again. The metal snap-band had broken, also years ago. I took it in today to BCJ to see if I could get a low-priced replacement band, as a piece of the original had broken off. I have come here multiple times for watch band adjustments, repairs, battery replacements, and personal ring resizing and repairing. Every time the customer service is outstanding and it takes only moments to do what I'm there for... the only time I've ever had to leave a piece overnight was because, during the resizing, they graciously noted the stone of the ring was loose and they offered repairs. It was done before their estimated pick up time and I was so happy with the work done and the costs involved. I've never, ever had a complaint, and constantly recommend these guys. I took a clock in for repair on June 27. I had to pick it up today because after almost two months the repair person did not get around to looking at it. I called about it five times. Each time I was given a different reason why the repair person did not look at it. The last time I called I was told it would be looked at in the morning. That was a week ago. The clock was going to be a gift and the store owner assured me it would take a week to look at it and make repairs. I probably should not have left the clock for repairs because two watches i left for repairs were not finished when they were promised. They were both finished about two weeks later then promised. The shop owner assured me that this was not his typical practice. Extra time was needed because the watches were antiques. When I picked up my clock I got a different story. The repair person is actually a contract worker who is only there once a week. Anything that needs repair is "first come first serve." So I guess people have waited longer then me for repairs. This is terrible customer service. Every time I have in the store I have bought something. I will not be back in the store again. The prices are high, the selection is limited, but I shopped there because it was close to home and i thought the repair person was an employee and not some one who only came in once a week. read more

Well ahead of the stated repair time I received a call that it was ready. When I picked it up the charge was $0! I was a first time customer and was real excited to have a pair of ear rings made for my daughter. I got the phone call to pick them up Friday. I got there a few minutes before closing time. I actually got there at 5:27, they close at 5:30. When I walked up the door was locked and the owner looks at me and shrugs his shoulder and points to the hours. I had already paid for them and wanted to have them for the weekend. Needless to say I had to go back on Monday to pick them up. Poor customer service. He designed the ring to showcase the diamond, bezel set it so I can wear it at work, added sapphires because I love them, and gave it the vintage art-deco feel that I love in jewelery. He listened to my fiance's ideas, added and expounded on them, and created the most beautiful ring I have ever seen. And one of the most beautiful things? It's appraised at just over $10,000, but my fiance paid just a fraction of that. We are so happy with his work, we just worked with him to design our wedding rings. Again, at a fraction of the price that a large chain store would charge, and they're exactly what we want - unique to us; we know we'll never see these rings on other people's hands.
