I decided to take a road trip up to Roseland water park and came here for dinner and I am glad that I did! What a great place. The pulled pork was amazing and the other menu choices looked fantastic. The Good: NIce decor, small and homey. Went there for a Friday lunch. Food came quickly and wait staff was pleasant. The Not so Good: The shrimp bisque/chowder was rather bland. Couldn't taste the shrimp but COULD taste lumps of floury/potato starchy undercooked roux/possible buerre manie. The cranberry/walnut/goat cheese salad with vinagrette on the side was good but had several chunks of pit grit from an unknown source/ was a lot like ground cherry or olive pits. read more

Fantastic. We took residents from area Nursing Home for lunch today. The waitress was wonderful and attentive, average wait time as in any dining place and the food was awesome. All of us cannot wait to revisit the Bee Hive Brew Pub! Thanks for the great time. read more

This was the second time here. The food is ok but the service was really bad. Our waitress was new so I am sure that had some impact but they were really slow when we ate there. Not sure I will go out of my way to visit again. read more

Highly recommend, great selection of beers and food. If you're a vegetarian I suggest the veggie Reuben! Nice atmosphere with outdoor seating as well. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff/co-owner. Great place to relax after riding on the Ontario pathway. read more

Not satisfied. Tried the Waldorf Salad with Chicken Salad on top. The chicken salad was shredded as if it came from a can, and the lettuce was wilted and rusted as if it has been kept several days after cutting. Plus the lettuce was wet. The dressing sounded good, piña colata but it was all oil, no flavor at all. All items sound good on the menu. read more

Reviews were mixed so we decided to give it a try. It was fairly disappointing. We got two different kinds of burgers which were obviously made from frozen beef. The buns, "salt and pepper", were too soft for the beef which made the burger soggy and too salty. The homemade chips were good. We got a side of fries which were bland and tasted like cardboard. We were expecting the brew pub to have beer on tap brewed from them but there is only one beer. Beer selection was solid, but expensive. Wouldn't go back. Next time we'll stick to McGreggors or somewhere else with better burgers and good beer selection. read more

Today was my second visit to Canandaigua's latest resturant. This time I was in for lunch and the food, service and atmosphere was as wonderful as it was on my first visit. Menu is the same for lunhch and dinner, and all the food can be classified as upscale bar food. I had a turkey sandwich with homemade cranberry sauce and coleslaw, on hearty multigrain bread. it was grilled and served arwm with house made chips. DELICIOUS. My friend had a chicken sandwich with honey glazed apples and cheddar on wheat. Equally wonderful. If I could have given this spot more than five stars, I would have. The beer selection is top notch, and I highly recommend their Bee Hoppy IPA (developed by one of the owners). Their menu is creative, and offers choices for any type of diner (including great vegetarian options). The staff is helpful, knowledgable, and super-friendly. Even on the busiest nights, the service is spot on and delivered with a smile. The owners are present often and love chatting about craft beer. The interior is beautifully crafted, and I really appreciate their inspired use of up-cycled materials in this beautifully rennovated and historic building. The outdoor patio seating is a welcome addition to downtown Canandaigua. The imaginative design demonstrates mindful use of local history in the decor. This place seems to have it all! read more

I went to the Beehive Sunday for lunch, had fabulous goat cheese appetizer! followed by the Waldorf chicken salad. The food was Delicious and the service was great. We also love the $5 Bloody Mary Bar. I have become a regular at this place and I highly recommend it! read more

Would have given it zero if possible. Day after Thanksgiving waited 30 minutes bartender rude , he was hostess substitute per sign. when I mentioned we had been here thirty minutes how much longer would it be. He shrugged his shoulders and said you can see what is going on. There were empty tables however many seated complained of long wait to even order. We left as did several other groups. Obviously unprepared for busy day but worse was rude careless attitude. read more

Go if you have all day to wait for your food. We were three couples who waited 50 minutes for our dinner, if you call it that. Friends ordered the ravioli - no salad, no bread, just a bowl of ravioli with sauce. Other friend ordered medium prime rib - came just about raw and tough. Fish and chips was okay. Burger was average but at 12.00 should have been better. Yes, they have a large selection of beers but I would not return for dinner. read more

This was a good place the first time here this made our second time and I was disappointed that this place could be a goal mine but is obviously mismanaged and is going down hill fast. I have eaten dinner here twice, the first time the food was great the bar tender needs to learn to properly pour a beer. Do not buy a pitcher as you will only get 3 glass out of it unless you point out to you waitress/waiter that the 2 to 3 inches of foam does not make the 4th glass. I have never seen the manager or owner checking up on anything while there. The 2nd dinner I had the Prime Rib Special I asked for rare and it was medium no pink in site and it was not warm. The potatoes and vegetable were delicious. My wife had a salad with chicken and some of the meat was cold. Our drink order we received the wrong beer and our Friend's received the wrong soda. We had to ask for a glass for the one beer that was not a draft. The glass was dirty and smelled like chlorine, the second glass was also dirty still had someones lip marks on it. Drank the beer out of the can. Recommend someone with Hospitality experience train the the team before it runs the business in the ground and recommend someone in the group especially the kitchen staff have Servsafe training which is the industrial standard for safe food handling (www.servsafe.com) I will not be coming back here again until I hear from other locals tat the places has turned around. read more

I keep wanting to like this place; it has so much potential ~ located in the former train station in Canandaigua, nice brick interior, with a wonderful variety of beers. But, given the competition across the street, they just cannot compare food or service-wise. Seems they can't keep servers, and it shows. Dining room was empty on a Sunday night, aside from one table of six that was nearly finished, yet our food took nearly 20 minutes to arrive. Our server was new, so I can't fault her, but we did see kitchen staff (men in aprons, assumed they were handling food preparation?) head into the back at least twice while we sat. The menu looks great, in theory. Yet, you can't get any multi-grain or wheat rolls for your veggie burger, but if you want to shell out $2 more for a gluten-free roll, well, that they do have. My friend was 'upcharged' $3 for plain old mac&cheese, (the menu said $.50), so that required a discussion with the server. Beer selection is above average, but you pay for it too... Portions aren't that generous, my 'salt & pepper' roll was so crusted it was inedible without scraping off the salt, on a very bland white bread. Reminded me of Wonder Bread - I'm sticking to the Green Front, where the staff is unfailingly warm and friendly, the food is wonderful and fresh, and, there are daily beer specials.... Beehive is going to have to step up their game. About the only advantage is the outside tables (if you can find one that's stable - on a visit during the summer, the leg was in danger of falling off, and alerting the server didn't seem to matter... yikes) read more

We went to this brew pub prior to a CMAC show. I called the day before and made a reservation because I assumed it would be busy. We arrived on time for our reservation and checked in with the hostess who told us to sit at any table. The place was fairly empty so there were many tables to choose from. We them proceeded to sit at the table over 10 minutes while the wait staff completely ignored us. Finally I had to stop the hostess to ask her for menus. A waitress then came to our table and made a rude comment about us seating ourselves. I informed her that the hostess told us we could pick a table. She wanted to know exactly who told us that. Then she made a rude comment about the restaurant having many reservations for the night. I informed her that we also had a reservation. Then her tune changed. We sat at the table over 25 minutes before we had drinks. The wait staff did not communicate with each other or ask us about reservations after we were seated. I think their plan was to ignore us until we went away. I have never experienced a ruder unprofessional staff than at this restaurant. The food was decent but was not good enough to make up for the horrible service. We just made it on time for the show because we had to wait so long for anyone to serve us.
