After attending a brew fest not far from Canandaigua, we decided we needed some real food from a restaurant. This places seemed like it would be a little gen but turned out to be a piece of coal. The amount of time we waited to be seated and to get our orders in was ridiculous. The amount of time we waited to actually get our food was absurd. For the type of food it was, the wait was uncomparbale. If you want good service, don't come here. I really want to like this place, but they make it so damn difficult. Just sat here waiting 15 minutes just to see a waitress. On a Monday. One time I went to take a leak and they canceled my damn order, leaving me sitting there waiting for 20 minutes like an idiot. Saturday night I walked in with my girlfriend at 9 and the place was dead. As we were looking at the specials a guy walked by and barked "Don't even bother looking at that, we're out of everything!" The food can be good but almost every time I'm here there's some kind of hassle. Time to send these guys a message. read more

Absolutely love this place...standard menu plus the daily specials on the board gives a great deal of choice of food. Bartenders are very friendly and attentive. This was my second time to the Bee Hive since the reopening of outdoor seating at restaurants. Both times, the servers were busting their asses, miserable, way understaffed. There is a bartender that has worked there forever and basically threw our drinks at us. Our server did not acknowledge us for over half an hour. Food was decent but took a long while. Beware. I have been here two other times and had a good experience both times (both over a year ago). This time, it was not so great. We made reservations (6:45) and our table was ready when we arrived, place seemed near max (for COVID) when we first arrived. Things were good until we placed our order. It took an hour for us to get our food. In the time between our order and the food coming to the table, we watched our waitress have two smoke breaks and the restaurant emptied out (except for one other table of two people). My son got the Mac and cheese, it was cold when it arrived, for my 9-year old son to say that it had to be bad-tried it and it was cold. When mentioning this to the waitress, she mentioned it looked dry, as well. It was replaced without issue and the next dish wash much better. My gluten-free bun for my veggie burger was the best part of my meal. Veggie burger had little flavor and wasn't hot but also wasn't as cold as the mac and cheese. Sweet potato fries were nothing special, don't think I would pay extra for those a second time. Other son's burger was over cooked. My husband enjoyed his blackened mahi sandwich however, the bun was too big for the piece of fish. The table near ours that was also a family of four left while we were waiting and left easily over 75% of the food and their meals on the table. It was surprising to me to see them leave with a table full of food but I can guess why this happened. Even if they were full after eating very little, it wasn't worth taking any leftovers with them. Food was ok, but service was very poor and it was not crowded on a Sunday afternoon. What the waitress served me was not what I ordered then she proceeded to tell me I was wrong. Only when 2 others in my party agreed with me did she believe that she realized her mistake. Since I ordered the special I thought it would be quick, but when she finally served me the other 3 in my party were almost finished so I felt rushed. Then she said she would bring the garlic bread, but I had to remind her. I ate a bit and took the rest to go. She offered to pay for dessert out of her own pocket- which she told me twice. My husband ordered dessert too and she was snarky when she said that she only meant she would buy me dessert not everyone. Great little spot just off Main Street in Canadaigua. A large number of beers available and a lot of recommendations. Very extensive menu for food. Very friendly staff. Great specials, lots of TVs to watch games in the bar area if you want to do that. The wings were superb and the cheese covered fries were also amazing. Outstanding lunch and beers! I had a Reuban sandwich with sweet potato fries and a large dill pickle, best ever!! Hubby had the Bee Burger which was very delicious and he also had the sweet potato fries. Sister in law had the roast beef sandwich with fries and pickle,yummy, and brother in law had the Bee Hive Platter, which was piroges, carmelized onions and kielbasa, which was really superb!!! I live right down the street from Beehive and have visited twice. The first time was the weekend they opened. My husband and I took a stroll up to see what it was all about. We were excited! And impressed when we got there! The inside has been re done wonderfully and were excited to see a familiar blonde bartender pouring cold ones. Between her and the extremely friendly owner, we felt welcome and comfortable and knew we would be back! My second visit was with a girlfriend just the other night. We each had refreshing cold drinks from the bar(once again I was happy to see that familiar blonde bartender!) and we each enjoyed a burger. Yum! Needless to say, I think the Beehive is a great addition to Canandaigua and look forward to another visit. read more

Today, I walked out of this restaurant for the second time after waiting to be seated for an inappropriate amount of time. When we arrived, two parties were also waiting, and one man shared that he had been waiting to be seated for more than 20 minutes. We were not acknowledged by and staff during our wait (nor was I acknowledged the previous time I walked out). There were several open tables. I went there on a Saturday night with a group. I ordered the Prime Rib special,what a mistake! I ordered it medium and couldn't even cut through the slice it was so undercooked. Plus there was absolutely no flavor whatsoever. I sent it back to see if they could cook it a little longer . it looked like they just stuck it in the microwave. I couldn't even chew it. I came here for my birthday and was very pleased with the way dinner turned out. Minus the long wait for our waitress to come take out orders. But the food was good so I decided to come back. Today, my family came in for dinner. We sat waiting for our waitress to come get our drink orders for 10 minutes, then another 15 minuets just to order food. Our food took an hour to come out to us, which wasn't very good in the first place. The drinks were watered down and the service wasn't great either. Definitely will not be coming back. read more

Absolutely the worst service I have ever received at a bar/restaurant. I was in town visiting with my husband, and our friends who are local took us here, as they have had good experiences there before. What a mistake - we all were extremely dissapointed. It was this past Monday evening, after waiting 15 minutes just to be seated (and the place was not full at all) we were finally seated and then had to wait a very long time for one of the several staff walking by to acknowledge us and take our drink order. We were very hungry so we put our wings order in right away. Thank goodness we did because our wings (which were quite mediocre) came out before our beers. They forgot our drink order. Finally, the bartender (we were seated close to the bar) walked by us and we had to let her know we had not received our drinks. She brought them to us, with my friend's beer in a very thin glass with half of it being head. After being further ignored by the waitstaff, the bartender finally took our dinner orders. Once we received our food and finished our first round of (almost forgotten) drinks, no one came by to ask how everything was (which would have been nice as I did not like my wrap at all and could have politely asked for something to be added to make it taste better) or if we needed anything else. NO ONE EVEN CAME BY TO ASK IF WE NEEDED REFILLS ON OUR DRINKS. To make matters worse, we saw the bartender drinking a pint of beer and texting on her phone while we are there wanting another round of drinks. My friend asked if she could have more beer in her glass since half of it was head and the bartender seriously gave her a splash of beer in there. We also got to witness the staff having a heated argument, complaining about their tips (gee I wonder why their tips are so bad?!), and I even heard the bartender saying "we have the worst service here hehe." I have lived in Canandaigua my whole life, and I am proud of my home town. The Beehive Brew Pub is just down the street from my house, and I have been there many times. I know both owners and I am very proud of the accomplishments they have achieved in building an awesome restaurant/pub. I have watched this place develop from a dance club into a beautiful bar. I have never been much for trying different beers (strictly a Budweiser or Coors light drinker), but I have to say I am in love with one of the Beehives signature beers the "Bee Hoppy" (an IPA), one of my all time favorite beers now. I think the food is awesome: 1) We have had the Irish Egg Roll (a Ruben in a egg roll, great idea and delish). 2) We have had the Signature Wings (flavorful chickens wings, that are baked/grilled not deep fried, very good, would recommend everyone to try them). 3) We have had the All-American Burger (you get your choice of rolls, the burger was done perfectly) I would highly recommend everyone to try the "Beehive Brew Pub"..it's Canandaigua's newest happening place! read more

My family and I just left this establishment after having a very disappointing meal. The Mac and cheese was excessively bland, dry, and lacking cheesiness. The spaghetti was more of a soup-it was just pasta in tomato water. The meatballs tasted plain as well, and since the sauce was so watery it didn't stick to either the pasta or the meatballs. The waitress left for extended periods of time and did not refill our drinks once. Also, at prime dinner hour we were the only ones in the restaurant aside from an old folks group having card night-this should have signaled us to leave and find somewhere else, however the menu looked appetizing. This place was much worse than other places near by, could've gotten a better and cheaper meal at KFC or Applebee's (and I really don't like chain restaurants so that's saying something). All of this disappointment costed my family of four close to 70 dollars. Don't bother coming here. read more

Came here on a Friday night with my boyfriend so we had to wait a little bit for a table which is fine since it seemed pretty busy. However, after we ordered our food we had to wait at least an hour for our food. Waitress never acknowledged the fact that it was taking longer than expected or apologized. My boyfriend actually got 2 beers before our dinner was served. They were obviously under staffed.. however as a customer, it would have been nice for the warning that they are busier so we could have changed our expectations or went somewhere else. Best draft craft beer list in Canandaigua, hands down. In fact, I've often seen highly-rated beers there that I rarely see on draft elsewhere in the greater Rochester area. Great food: large menu with plenty for everyone, from those who just want a basic cheeseburger, to those who'd rather have their burger with avocado and sauteed peppers & mushrooms, to those who prefer their reuben made with kielbasa (plenty besides sandwiches, as well, including daily specials). And always excellent service, too. Also, nice patio to sit on this time of year. Went on a Saturday night, didn't seem like a lot of people waiting but was told 20 minutes. Asked to sit outside and hostess said if possible but when we came in the were 2 open tables. Waited 30 minutes and went up to ask hostess how much longer and she said your next oh I can sit you now. Sat us inside and gave us menus. Sat there for 15 minutes and no waitress ever came over. Fed up at that point and got up and left, on the way out her hostess apologizing to another group because of same issue. Won't be going back there again. read more

The only reason I haven't given this place 5 stars is because we waited such a long time for everything. Other than that, my experience was excellent. I went with a couple of friends and their food looked just as delicious as mine. I had one of their wraps and you could tell that the ingredients were fresh. So so so good. I came here for lunch and some good beer drinking with my family. The service was a little slow, but being holiday time, it was abnormally busy for a Monday. Our bartender/server was nice though and did as much as he could. The food was pretty good. We shared the goat cheese with cranberries and crackers as well as an order of their cheese fries for an appetizer. Two words. Hidden Gem. I haven't heard of this place, that is until I wanted to start a brewery crawl in Canandaigua. We arrived around 7 and the bar was busy, but we were able to grab a stool and check out the beer selection. I got their signature Bee Hoppy brew, it was tasty. We were in beer heaven. I also was a fan of their merchandise selection. The menu looked great for bar food, and I have been keeping an eye on their specials via their Facebook page. Since it was Good Friday, they had quite a bit of seafood, and we were craving Mexican, so we opted to not eat, and just have a liquid appetizer at the Bee Hive Brew Pub. Love this place! Whether it's just grabbing a drink with friends or dinner out I always have a great experience. I'm not a fan of beer but they almost always have my favorite hard cider on tap and the food is always good. They always have interesting specials and I'm usually a picky eater but I love to try their specials! We love it so much we go at least once a month but usually every other week.
