While camping in Vermont, we went to head out for a day of fun, only to discover that our car wouldn't start. We called for a jump, thinking it would be a quick fix and we would be on our way. When that didn't work, Levi went above and beyond to diagnose the issue and provide a fix that would get us home. This included leaving to pick up supplies at the store and calling in a second mechanic with specialized experience with Subaru issues. Throughout the whole experience, Levi was friendly and understanding, talking through what our options would be and giving advice that was genuine and well thought out. I went to get my car inspected at the Autosmith the other day. Not because I heard good things…read more(just the opposite), but because I was feeling lazy and the Autosmith is close. They inspected it right away, and found that I needed new springs in the front--they said mine were broken. Their two options to fix the issue would have cost me approximately $615 (the "cheap" option) to $665. Well, folks, Tracey Phelps doesn't have $700 kickin' around, so I got a second opinion. My boyfriend, Jake, took a gander at the springs and being a car guy, noticed that the springs WEREN'T BROKEN AT ALL. The paint was peeling off, but otherwise totally fine! He then told me that the Autosmith tried to rip him off in the past and that I should head over to Bob's Auto in Essex. All in all, it cost me $65 for an oil change and inspection at Bob's Auto, as opposed to ten times that at Autosmith for work that I didn't even need. I know Autosmith is trying to expand and pay for their new stuff, but can they give their neighbors a break? I can't afford to pay for your new shop, and neither can most of us in this cruddy recession.

I was glad to see they found an issue in my front end (go figure with the wonderful roads in VT) while doing the oil change. It cost a bit more than a free oil change, but was certainly reasonable and the service was very prompt. Budget Roadside Assistance originally told us that they contacted a tow company, but apparently they didn't and when they did not show at the allotted time we had to call back and demand that they actually confirm with a new company. A Plus Towing and Recovery confirmed with Budget and then called us to confirm their pick up. As I had to wait for my family to return with a new rental car, the tow truck driver arranged to retrieve the car to coincide with when my family returned with the new rental so I was not waiting out in the middle of no where Vermont. The tow truck driver was nice, friendly and much appreciated. If we ever need a tow in Vermont again, I will use them.

All of my tools for my construction company were stolen, they took a $1200.00 Generac power bank out of my truck after being asked not to go in my vehicle again in lieu of payment. They waived all storage due to not releasing the vehicle to me and saying the state police said not to release it to me, when in all actualality the police officer said to only release it to me. Then said when you come bring something to blow your tires up as they are flat from sitting I get there and both back tires are off the rims and the vehicle is totally undrivable. I say well thanks for the heads up I would have come more prepared if you told me what actually was wrong with the tires his response was " Ya well oh well ...." The disrespect was at it's finest. Then when I confronted him about taking all my tools he tried to blame it on being stolen and I'll give him that, that could have been the case but the state police did a inventory as it was stolen and part of a crime. I also believe that the tow company was supposed to do that as well and I asked him if he did and he said very proudly, " No why would I do that" I looked up all the VT laws all company procedures are supposed to be posted with rates and insurance information at storage facility and at the towing company it self. Which none of that was done. He refuses to even give me his insurance information and said his insurance would not be paying for anything. Which I doubt that he even has any to begin with but that I'm not sure of. I will be making it my job to be sure he pays for absolutely everything he/ they stole and my vehicles damages. Which includes two broken tail lights and two rear tires which were only two days old. He tries charging me $300 for the tow $150 a day for storage and a hook up he did an dropped the hook a month before, before I could even get any of my property out of it which is also illegal as stated in the VT laws. I would never recommend this company to anyone as you will not get your vehicle back in good working order and they are ridiculously priced to begin with. The person I dealt with the most was Brent then at the property dealt with even worse I'm not sure of his name but he was a large gentleman with a nasty attitude and disposition. I will say my wife was not very polite to them by any means as she was completely blown away by their actions and condition our vehicle was left in after everything we had already been through.

He goes above and beyond for people, especially those going through difficult times, and it's clear that he values helping his community just as much as running a great business. The work was excellent, everyone was respectful and professional, and the compassion they showed our family is something we'll never forget.
