Prime rib with mushrooms on top, smashed red potatoes and 3 shrimp
    Jan K.

After searching Ron Faiola's WI supper club list, we made reservations at Beedle's and it was a good thing we did. The dining room and bar filled up fast! We had a booth in the dimly lit dining room. Our server, Tori, was okay, but if we go back in the future we'd definitely request a table in Jacob's section. He was far more informative about the menu and specials (it was like pulling teeth with Tori), was very friendly, and checked in/cleared some plates a couple times when he was passing by. Beedle's salad bar was an average size. We avoided the iceberg lettuce as a lot of it was brown, and went with romaine instead, but they had a good selection of salad toppings as well as potato salad, coleslaw, beets, etc. The salad bar also offered a Moroccan stew for the night. The Coulee Combo appetizer was big, and contained deep fried mushrooms, onion rings and cheese curds. I ordered a cosmopolitan and it was seriously the most bland cosmo I've had. I don't know if they were running low on lime juice and cranberry juice, but it was one sad drink. For entrees we both had the prime rib and it was magnificent. You pretty much didn't need a knife it was that tender, and the seasoning was just right. We wrapped up our meal by sharing a Brandy Alexander and it was daunting in size and tasted delightful. To close, make reservations, request Jacob as your server, watch out for that iceberg lettuce & avoid the cosmopolitan, and order the prime rib and an ice cream drink for dessert!!

The best way to get the root or meat and cheese of the matter is to get down on this 16-acre pizza farm yourself. To get there, drive through serpentine country back roads and "a steady cloud of dust that leads back to a field filled with pickup trucks." Park behind the main buildings where rows of tomato, mozzarella, and pepperoni plants grow. Save time by sending some of your crew to scout for a prime picnic spot while you queue up in the ordering line. Expect a long wait, but hay, it's worth it! You'll be happy as a pig in the mud sinking your teeth into a tasty, wood-fired, farm-fresh pizza. We ordered the following (ingredients in pics): PESTO: Basically an apprentice Vampire Slayer. Killer pizza, but not strong enough to destroy Jemaine Clement's Vladislav. HALEY'S COMET: Fungus is not for me. THAI CHICKEN: Popularithai contest winner! It could use extra cilantro as that was overpowered by the sweet chili peanut sauce. VAMPIRE SLAYER (previous visit): Unearthly amounts of garlic will give your inner Buffy raging vampire-slayah superpowers! Hi-yah! But there's more on this farm than meets the sty besides pizza! Hang out by the campfire, enjoy live music, or visit with the resident chickens, cows, pigs and goats. The venue is stunning for an outdoor wedding and the accommodations if weather is not on your side, outstanding. I have been to a number of outdoor, rustic/farm weddings, this place hits the proverbial " ball " out of the park! Not only is the venue and the buildings beautiful, the staff, workers, and the owners, Kristin(hope spelling is correct) and Steve, are true blue, salt of the earth, very professional, polite, kind,, and above accommodating. They kept everything flowing without any hiccups. I was so impressed with how involved the owners were, on making this day "perfect" for the new bride and groom, family and guests.Beyond that for all those thinking beyond- the parking was easy and close, with a lot of room, the bathrooms(we all know that is important at a big gathering), were spacious, clean, decorated, and well stocked. Accommodations for those from out of town, as we were, 15 minutes away in Black River Falls. We stayed at the Comfort Suite - it was more than we needed for a family of 5.For those wanting a venue such as this, all I can say, is, don't let this Diamond in the rough, go unchecked. Kudos to this family and this total package of true elegance, and outstanding service they have put together in the rolling hills of west central Wisconsin!

We got the 3 dip combo which was salsa, buffalo chicken and a southwestern bean dip. They were all really good. So, for the wine "purists" out there, remember, these are not necessarily like nice, earthy pinots, merlots or cabernets that you pour in a big glass and enjoy with dinner. More like light, sweeter pino grigios or rieslings. We drink them mostly like sweet dessert wines (think port) in small glasses after a meal or late in the evening. If you come at them from this perspective, you won't be disappointed as you might be if you went here looking for a conventional table wine. Great location, nice facilities, enjoyable wines and pretty good food. I had the Norwegian sandwich - VERY good. It's out past the Seed Savers, so if you are looking for something to do after visiting them - this may be just the ticket. Highly recommended.

I was here as a vendor to DJ for a wedding recently and have great things to say about this venue,…read morethe owners were friendly, warm, and helpful when I arrived early to check in and set up. Both the drive to and the property itself was beautiful. The bathrooms were also clean and comfortable. The dance floor was placed on the opposite corner of the huge room from the bar, a big faux pas when it comes to reception layout since dance floor and bar go hand in hand. Decor was great and the lighting was effective but they dismissed me asking them to turn the lights off on the dance floor, eventually turning them to 25% and finally 50% for that quarter of the room while the rest of the space stayed at 100% light all night long. To be clear the overhead lights on the dance floor should be turned completely off and the rest of the room typically is dimmed during the late night portion of a wedding or you're damaging guest engagement on the dance floor and harming the clients vision for their wedding celebration. The clients already had a special lit sign and DJ lighting planned for the dance floor which did not have the same effect with the venue lighting staying on. This was disappointing and confusing and showed a lack of experience and expertise in hosting events. Laurie specifically gave gaslighting responses claiming that keeping the lights up has never been a problem for them before which sounds like a disservice to their clients. I hope they can improve in the future and aim to serve their clients needs throughout their whole event and I wish nothing but the best for all upcoming couples. We all had a great time celebrating the newlyweds despite these small issues but some specific changes could have made a big impact on the success of the event overall.

I waited a while to write this review because I wanted to be fair. If I had written it the day of…read morethe event it would have been 1 star. Given the time of further consideration, I think 3 stars is legit. Here's the deal: I attended a family wedding here earlier this summer. The bride & groom were radiant, their friends were ecstatic to participate in their nuptials & everyone in the family was thrilled this day had arrived. We were all eager to celebrate. The venue at The Court Above Main, meaning the large room where the wedding & reception took place, is gorgeous. With high ceilings & floor to ceiling windows there is plenty of natural light on a sunny afternoon. It's elegant & creates a lovely mood as the guests anticipate the blessed event. Finally, the moment arrives...the wedding was a delight. Soon after, pictures began & most of us were quickly scooted out of the wedding venue to a small outside ante-room which turned out to be the bar. There were about 120 guests. Thankfully, not the 150 expected, or this would have been even worse. That's 120 people all eager to get a drink at a small counter with 2 very nice, but obviously overwhelmed, bartenders. Once everyone had their drinks we were all stuck in this ante-room where there were a few tall tables & at most, 8 places to sit. It was a hot summer day & this room didn't have enough air conditioning. Everyone was sweating, there was practically no place to sit, there was barely room to stand, and not a bite to nibble on. (I realize that may have been an error made by the wedding couple in terms of not considering appetizers of any kind. However, what legitimate venue purporting to provide exceptional wedding services would allow an oversight like this without being sure the wedding couple seriously understood the importance of something to eat while drinking alcohol?). We were stuck in this situation for more than 2 hours! That's how long it took the room where the wedding occurred to be transitioned with tables & chairs for the dinner. Yup, 2 hours of being too hot, with aching feet, and no place to escape. Being a wedding, there were several elderly family members in attendance who were able to snag the few available chairs. But not everyone. So finally, people started trying to go in the main room where the tables & chairs were being set up & where it was much cooler because the AC worked almost too well. Those who tried got yelled at! That's hardly a welcoming vibe. The reason this transition took so long is because there were only 2 people on staff doing all the work. I have a good friend who manages wedding events & when I told him about this wedding, he said they always have a minimum staff of 5 for this number of people so they can ensure the transition happens in no more than 20 minutes. Now that seems reasonable. Once we were finally seated for dinner, the same 2 people were the only ones both serving & clearing. They were nice enough, but it all took way too long. I've gone on long enough. I'll finish by saying with this size venue & their limited staffing, I'm sure it could be a lovely wedding for 50 people, 75 at the most. Otherwise, it's simply not a large enough space, at least for the drinking portion of the event. And you'd be smart to insist there are a minimum of 4 staff to handle transitions & serving. Also insist there are enough tables & chairs in the bar area.

It's on the smaller side, so don't expect to have 150+ people and be comfortable, but for the clientele it serves, it's a great option. My frustration is with one of the bartenders. I ordered an old fashioned, a fairly common drink for most wedding-goers. The bartender made the drink, placed it in front of me, and said that it would be an extra $2 because "it's all alcohol, compared to other drinks." He caught me off guard, seeing as everything else other than top-shelf liquor is included in an open-bar package. The drink wasn't made with premium whiskey anyhow, unless Jack Daniels is considered premium in this neck of the woods. Anyways, if they're going to stiffarm you for an extra $2 here and there, so be it. But, to make your drink, set it down in front of you, and then ask for extra money, that's just unprofessional. Be upfront about it. The drink would've been better served tossed in his face, as his bartending skills were more insulting than anything.
