I've been coming to this beefaroo for almost 10 years and it never disappoints. It's an upscale causal fast food restaurant. I love their chicken tortilla soup is fantastic with a little bit of a kick. Their cheese fries are also good but their shakes are to die for. Used to be one of my favorite places to go for something quick but it's really gone downhill. Last 3 times I have gone the orders have been totally wrong and the quality of the food is now terrible. Used to love their wraps but they are now 80% lettuce and are pretty subpar. read more

A decent burger, but nothing special - your standard frozen pre-formed patty, with microwave bacon, on a pretzel bun. The double burgers are hard to eat (they should be wrapped instead of a clamshell container). Wishing I would have tried their roast beef, but I'm a Chicagoan, so prefer Italian Beef. Whenever I am traveling through the Rockford area I make at least one stop at a Beef-A-Roo. Service is always friendly and quick; the dining area is clean and comfortable. I really appreciate the availibility of gluten free items on their menu. read more

Beef-a-Roo is one of the only fast food places I will go to in Rockford. They've been around for 50 years, and it's because their food is (most of the time) very good, they have great service and a good variety of food. Once, I ordered a veggie burger at the drive-thru and it was dry, with a stale bun. I had already left, so I e-mailed them, and they responded promptly, and sent me a $10 gift card. This location was recently renovated, and it's very cute inside; they even have a fireplace. The only problem with this restaurant is that everything is served in plastic, and they DON"T RECYCLE!!! It kills me. I don't understand it. So, I bring a shopping bag with me so I can take home the recycling. If I didn't care about the environment, I would give this place 5 stars. read more

This place is pretty good and Likely the best looking Beef and Roos. This is pace I have ony seen in this area and the inside was very ore upscale than I thought it would look. The food is basic sandwich and burger grill but tasty with a medium size menu and a large workforce getting your order and food quickly. Great seating and lighting along with a good self-service soda fountain. They should expand to Chicago and Mil Town. read more

I hated the name Beef-A-Roo, when I first heard of it. Their food doesn't describe their name. From the fries with extra salt to beer battered onion rings to the kale salad to the chicken fingers...so good! I love the salad (healthy) choices at this place. Though I am tempted by the bad food, the healthy food is quite tasty. The service at this Beef-A-Roo has much to be desired, but as long as the food is good, I will give it a five star. read more

I was kind of disappointed because I was told that this is the "Portillo's of Rockford" so I went in expecting Portillo's. I got the Italian beef sandwich, and I got Italian beef of a soggy burger bun, not on french bread or anything. My boyfriend and I stopped here on our way back from a camping trip. We chose this place because of the rave reviews. We both agreed it was just average. The restaurant itself was very clean, nicely decorated but the food was... Eh. I got the Reuben burger, the meat wasn't horrible but more like McDonalds quality. My boyfriend got the pulled pork and said it lacked flavor. We just ate the sandwiches because we were really hungry but there was nothing exciting happening in our mouths. The malt I had was very good, the vanilla shake he had was too lumpy to sip. The onion rings were pretty yummy too, but I wouldn't go to a restaurant just for the side dishes. read more

This might have been the worst food my family and i have ever had. Everything was made f r om frozen and very dry and tasted like nothing or even worse like infected feet. Beef-A-Roo does have great food and usually good service. I have always enjoyed the experience and waiting for certain foods to be available to enjoy such as the pumpkin squares. In the end Beef-A-Roo is a great place to eat. But I would not recommend it as a job unless you are still in high school and don't really need the money. I just wish they would put half the effort they put into the food and customer service into reviews and raises and decent management. But yes I have always enjoyed the experience and the people at Beef-A-Roo. read more
