Delicious beef jerky! Friendly staff, lots of free samples & many choices to choose from. There's classic flavors, spicy & hot, sweet & savory, pepper & spice. They even have bison & alpaca jerky. I like sweet flavors so I ended up buying honey bbq beef & cherry maple turkey.

It was a nice stop at Beef Jerky Experience. This place is spacious and has a whole bunch of different jerky flavors. They don't just sell beef jerky... they also have turkey jerky and game jerky such as salmon and some other ones that I can't remember. They also sell flavored popcorn which I found interesting. They have a counter worth of free samples on the different jerky flavors. The very friendly and upbeat staff member assisted the customers on the sampling. I wasn't able to try any samples because they ran out of turkey and they didn't have any samples for salmon. I don't eat beef anymore so there goes that LOL. I ended up buying the larger size bag of turkey jerky which was cheaper than getting 3 smaller bags (I think I saved $12 or something). I also got two bags of salmon jerky in different flavors which I don't remember LOL. Turkey jerky was very moist and tasty... I would buy this again. However, the salmon jerky was tough and gamy unfortunately... I will pass on this one next time. Great place to get your jerky experience! Enjoy your visit!!

Are you Beef Jerky Experienced? Well, we definitely are now after our visit! We popped in during the holiday season because, well... beef jerky, uh yeah. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by this cool, sassy Gen Xer lady who had jokes for days. We hit it off right from the start. She encouraged us to try a ton of samples, which was amazing. She gave us the lowdown on all things beef jerky--no stinginess here! She recommended the Cabernet, or was it the Merlot? Either way, it hit the spot. Hubby went a little sample-crazy but ended up leaving with Mango Habanero and some Alpaca. You absolutely have to stop here when visiting Solvang.

I highly recommend stopping by! Jordan helped us with everything and is SUPER knowledgeable of every jerky they have! My favorite was definitely honey bbq & Korean bbq. They have so much variety and different flavors, they have something for everyone of different tastes! I would totally stop by again if I happen to be in the area. Also a little PS. They ship their products too if you're craving some jerky! :)

A visit to this jerky store is definitely an "experience". The worker was very friendly and welcoming, offering free samples of pretty much everything, and providing helpful information about the products and ingredients. We purchased an assortment of flavors, my selection including maple flavored pork and duck, and cajun bbq pork and alligator, while my bf got a spicier variety of sticks like chipotle bison and reaper smoked beef. These were such unique and delicious snacks. But they offer more than just jerky here, selling different flavored popcorn, nuts, and sauces too.

Ok first impression is these are some PRICEY dried meats. $40 for a 12 oz bag of jerky just seems pretty insane to me. Especially when I normally buy Tillamook No sugar added 6.5oz bags for $12. The products are ordered from largest sized packages on the top display and the cheapest at the bottom. But if you are looking for unique jerky flavors like Honey Jalopeno, pineapple habenero, mango habenero and dill pickle, then this is the place to go. They also had some spicey ones such has Nashville Hot and The Reaper. I just couldn't see myself spending so much money on such a small amount. I imagine most if not all of their sales are from visitors only and not locals which is why they are so expensive. But if you are in Solvang, I recommend at least to browse inside.

I left my phone in the room to charge so I unfortunately do not have photos of this quaint and clean store. The lady in the store was extremely friendly and welcoming. She had several samples for us to try and all were so good! The prices were bit on the high side. My candied bacon was delicious but you don't get a lot in the bag. I have yet to try my other purchases when I find them. The store itself was bright and organized. They sold hot sauces as well. The packaging of some of the sauces were creatively done and clever. I wish I had my phone with me. It is very much worth the visit for a departure from all the pastries, cookies, and ice cream. We'd definitely return!

Such a fun EXPERIENCE! Tasted different items. The fried garlic was a shock! The consistency of a Cheeto with the flavor of garlic. Associate was so friendly and helpful. Stop by!

Though a bit of a drive away, this place was like heaven on earth if you love beef jerky. You are able to sample several different types and all have a unique flavor and texture. The staff is friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about their product selection. Me and the misses ended up with two grocery bags full; don't judge us lol. I will definitely be back soon to enjoy the town and grab some more jerky.

Upon entering there was a gentleman lounging on the couch on his phone, he didn't look like a salesman but the moment he saw my mother he jumped straight to the opportunity to make her feel uncomfortable in her skin. My sister and I had walked to look at other things, not knowing she was being so bombarded... He asked her "do you like having eye wrinkles or dark circles" what??? Excuse me? I had then walked back over to see what he was doing, trying to put cream on her face and I expressed she didn't want it and apply it to her hand instead... he refused and applied it to her eye.... Then telling her to look at the mirror and have me and her decided which eye looks better.... Yes the cream tightened 1 wrinkle, but this experience was horrible and made us all extremely uncomfortable- him refusing to take NO for an answer was the worst customer service I've ever experienced.... It's been 3 hours later and her eye is even more puffed and clearly reacting poorly to the cream.. And on top of everything this gentleman should be the last person selling beauty products, he looked like he need his own services included a bath and a clean shave.

Although nowadays spices are much more easier to come by (just drive down to your nearest supermarket!); many spices are still on the scarcer side and represent luxury. Have no fear, though, because you no longer have to board a ship and find the passage to the Middle East but can simply head to the Solvang Spice Merchant. Solvang Spice Merchant is a female-owned (shout out to girl bosses!) spice boutique located in the central hub of the famous Danish tourist city of Solvang near Santa Barbara. Opening its doors a couple years before the Covid pandemic in 2018; Solvang Spice Merchant not only survived but thrived with a brick and mortar storefront and an online shipping option (flat rate of $10 shipping no matter the size of purchase!). The business features hand-crafted spices and seasonings, teas, and foodie gift sets serving both tourists and Solvang residents, alike. My boyfriend and I ventured into the Solvang Spice Merchant when visiting Solvang from Los Angeles for the city's Christmas-time Julefest and gazed our eyes on a shop that would make any King or emperor proud. The store is filled with floor to ceiling shelves of spices/seasoning mixes categorized by country/region and then further sub-categorized by ingredients, styles (BBQ, Pickling, etc) available in various bottle sizes (plus some can be purchased at the counter in bulk, as well). If you can conceive a certain spice or seasoning, trust me that Solvang Spice Merchant has it! Even if you are not in the market for spices; the store is fun to browse and discover all of the spices from around the world. My personal spice journey has endlessly been looking for Garam Masala (an Indian spice) which I could have purchased at the Indian shop by my apartment in Los Angeles - but what fun is that?! It is much better to come across Garam Masala at Solvang Spice Merchant where the spices are combined by hand and with love while enjoying the world of spices! We purchased a 2.3 oz bottle (the smallest) of Garam Masala for $10.25 which isn't cheap: but expected from a boutique spice store. I have since used the spice mix on chicken, Steelhead trout and steamed veggies and it is absolute perfection and makes my apartment smell delightful with its warm spices. The only complaint? None of the two young females behind the counter welcomed us into the store, offered any samples (which I learned the store does indeed do), ask if we needed help, etc. Solvang's main gimmick is being a welcoming tourist city ESPECIALLY during Christmas as it is known as the, "Most Christmas-y City in the Nation". Unfortunately, that Hallmark Christmas movie customer service was absent the night of our visit. Despite this minor qualm; Solvang Spice Merchant is a charming spice shop fit for a King, emperor, sultan or just Averages Joes like you and I visiting Solvang. Not only will you find whatever spice your heart desires but you will have an enjoyable time simply scanning the shelves.
