Blackened White Fish Salad w/ Grape Powerade Zero
    Rodney N.

Been to this location many, many times. It was not so hot in 2017 or so but since the pandemic this place has been fire. I came 2 times this week (TWO TIMES MON!) to get the blacked white fish salad (hold the Parmesan cheese, please) with Balsamic vinegar dressing. Perfect grilled fish with fresh vegetables, Yes please. It's Thursday so that means trivia & the questions & music certainly cater to the predominantly Gen X crowd. Also my wife & I like burger Mondays & we even catch the occasional NFL game. This is a chain that is succeeding at imitating a local bar. 5-stars

    Half rare, half medium.... Weird

So we ordered beef O Bradys last night. I usually get the wings, but just wasn't in the mood for them. They are always perfect and impeccable every time we order. However, I was in the mood for steak, and they had a ribeye on the menu now. So I obviously tried it, because I love ribeye. The steak came literally half raw, half medium! I ordered mid rare. The potatoes were amazing and the Caesar salad was a Caesar salad salad. I'm just not sure how half of my steak was raw and the other half is medium. Beef has never let me down before, so this was just kind of disappointing. It's not gonna stop me from eating their amazing wings, I will just stick to steakhouses for my steak next time.

For drinks this place is not half bad. The new cheeseburger loaded fries hit the spot after a few drinks. Bartenders were cool. Definitely seems like a locals kind of spot but wasn't difficult to fit in.

Stopped here after work today.ordered the Steak Bowl and a salad. The bowl had vegetables and rice. Mostly peppers so I wanted a bit more broccoli for balance. Overall the dish was good and had some kick and they had fat free ranch for my salad. They have happy hour drafts and basic wines for $3 or $5 dollars. There is outside seating and lots of TVs so I found another place to take my Aussie.

I had a buffalo chicken salad delivered. It was literally a handful of soggy, old, and weird smelling lettuce. I called and spoke with the manager who told me she was too busy to deal with me right now but took my phone number and she'd give me a call back later today or tomorrow. Even if she does call back, I still have nothing for dinner and paid $17 for a few pieces of chopped up buffalo chicken. I'm unsure which is worse. The food or the customer service.

We stopped for an early lunch and found the place quiet. Our server was wonderful and was training someone else, so you can only hope she is equally as good. The atmosphere is typical bar/restaurant with a fairly large menu. I ordered a burger that had pulled pork on it. Great flavor and seemed like fresh ingredients. I also had fries which were decent.

It was ok, but probably will not be back. Liked all the TVs, but the service was not good and the food was mediocre.

Some of the most basic tasteless food I've had. Wings are great but otherwise don't bother. Loud. I don't think they know what spices are.

It was a few days before Halloween and my family and I needed a quick, early dinner. 5pm at 1916 is quiet. Only a handful of people around. We've been fans of 1916 since living in Plant City and are glad this location on 60 is close to us. Seat yourself and the bartender will come around to take your order. Looking over the menu, they have a good array of options. My wife loves the chicken Caesar salad. I ordered a special for the day, 6 wings for $6 as well as a Hell's Kitchen flat bread pizza. During the wait for our food I played a game where you can win a rubber ducky from a machine. My daughter enjoyed it but we didn't win. When we came back to the table, the manager floating around offered my daughter 2 small duckies for her to play with and keep. Once our food arrived, we dug in. I ordered my wings garlic parmesan. These were the best wings I have had in a while and the next time I want wings, I will be back for these. They were flavorful, meaty and decently sized. The crunch on these was next level and I truly hope they are the exact same the next time I visit. My flatbread was also good. Ample portion with flavorful toppings, cheesy and slightly crunchy with a tasty bread. Pairing these two smaller items together left me full but not stuffed. My wife enjoyed her salad but did note that the chicken didn't seem as fresh as usual and the dressing was way too much. Next time, she would order the dressing on the side so she can control the amount. Our 2-year-old picked from our plates but her palate is much more discerning these days and we're lucky if we can get her to eat mac and cheese. We will be back and you should check out 1916 as well.

Especially when restaurants want us to pay their server's salaries with 20+ percentage tips. So I'll start with the positives... I was incredibly impressed with the inside of this restaurant. The outside... Not so impressive. The neighborhood... Not so impressive. I wasn't expecting a really nice restaurant... But then the doors opened. It's amazingly beautiful inside. If you are planning an event or want to go on a very nice date night... I recommend this place. Now the in-between part of the review. The food was good... With a few exceptions. My mother-in-law got the salmon... It looked great. One of my sister-in-law's ordered the steak and fries. She ordered it medium... It was definitely medium rare if not more on the rare side. That's the way I like a steak... But, definitely not the way she ordered it. She said it was good. My other sister-in-law ordered the fish and chips... Quite good. Definitely the star of the show so far. My wife ordered a healthy chicken dish... not worthy of commentary. My son ordered the kids cheeseburger... He said it was the best cheeseburger he's ever had. And finally the disappointing entrée... Mine. I ordered the shepherds pie. I was pretty excited... I don't think I've ever had a lamb shepherds pie. However, I still don't think I have!!! I'm not sure there was any lamb in my lamb shepherds pie. Did it taste good... Yeah. In one bite I noticed something that resembled meat. In EVERY OTHER BITE... there was nothing. I was expecting a lot of mashed potatoes... It's shepherds pie after all. I was expecting the vegetables... I got some. But, where was the meat? Quite disappointing. Summary: Great looking restaurant with overall pretty good food. Pricing wasn't too bad. Entrées were reasonably priced... But, if you use my shepherds pie as an example... I don't really know what I paid for??? The restaurant does nickel and dime you for everything! The hummus appetizer came with a few pieces of pita and a lot of hummus. Obviously, you need more pita. They charge you for it. A Coke is $4.75. Wow! We were celebrating and brought a small round cake. We got charged a cake cutting fee ($15) in lieu of getting a free dessert. The receipt looked like a receipt from CVS... It just went on forever with every nickel and dime fee they added. So would I recommend the place... I guess so. Not a strong recommendation. But, a surprisingly nice looking restaurant with decent food. Just don't get the shepherds pie.

We don't get to South Tampa/SoHo often, so when we ended up in the area late Friday afternoon, we knew where we wanted to stop for drinks & dinner. First, the inside is very small! But it has an old, historic vibe that I love. The bathroom walls were heavily covered in graffiti (which I thought reminiscent of NYC punk bars like CBGB), however, the actual restroom facilities were spotless. As it wasn't dark yet, we decided to sit outside on the patio, and enjoy the pleasant weather. With only a few patrons sitting at the patio bar, and no one at any tables, we weren't sure of the ordering protocol. After nearly 10 minutes of wondering if we needed to order at the bar, a cheery server came over to help us. I'd forgotten the Dubliner only serves beer & wine - no liquor. But our waitress, Jamie, was incredibly helpful in suggesting something on tap that I would enjoy. And I loved my Angry Orchard draft ale (or was it cider?)! Choosing what to eat was more difficult! Although the Dubliner has a small & limited menu, we just couldn't decide.... So we agreed to split a couple of dishes. I ordered the Shepard's Pie, and was NOT disappointed! Perfect balance of meat, vegetables, mashed potatoes & cheese. Hubs ordered the Irish Nachos, and we loved the use of waffle fries instead of tortilla chips. We also split a bowl of Bacon & Potato Soup with toast... I could've made a meal of that deliciousness! Sooo good. We'll definitely be back for more of the Dubliner! I have no idea if this is a true representation of an Irish bar, but I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere. And we can't wait to try the fish & chips on a return visit... We saw a couple of plates delivered to a neighboring table before we left, and were stunned at the mountain of fried fish! I'd also like to sit at the big, old bar inside, and experience that ambiance.
