From our walking in the front door...the person who greeted us and took us to our table went on and on about essentially how much she hated her job and wished she could retire. There were tons of "open" tables but none of them were bussed. Once seated we found out they are a pepsi ...not a coke establishment. ( already strike 3 .) They offered a gomod, diverse menu. I would not recommend this place. I ordered a breakfast with pancakes , but by the time I finished eating, the pancakes never arrived. I asked to speak with the manager, who told me he was sorry but that nothing could be done because they were "too busy," and that he would discount the pancakes. However, when I went to pay, I received a receipt for $75 with no breakdown of what I was being charged for. After doing the math, I realized I was still charged for the pancakes. Long wait to be seated even though enough vacant tables for everyone waiting. Then a long time until we were finally able to place our order. From time entering and placing order, it was an hour. A lot of issue was with our waitress, as other seated patrons received timely service from a different waitress. But the very worst was the food itself. I ordered a lighted breaded chicken breast that was one of the worst things I've EVER been served in a restaurant. It had an awful rubbery texture and nothing like a chicken breast in any way. Popular spot for locals and travelers just off of I 75. Bob Evan's is a good choice for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Unfortunately for us we had a bad experience. We ordered Oatmeal for breakfast and even though they were super busy we had a longer than reasonable time for our meal to arrive, when it arrived it was cold, very cold. We decided to leave. Thoughts, consumers have expectations that should always be foremost. I think that quality control extends from the kitchen to the consumer. I seldom rate chain restaurants because they are usually the same everywhere. We had such a good experience here that I had to write a review. We were quickly seated and our server Caleb arrived and was one of the best servers and marketers I think I have ever seen. He was respectful and helpful, and did a great job telling us about sides that were up charges and taking dessert to take home. We used to own a business, so we appreciate employees that try to make their employer more money. Caleb was wonderful our entire visit and the manager should be made aware. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN OUR FOOD!!! First of all, our server Kiana was amazing and on top of everything. Ordered a bowl of potato soup and that was great. We ordered two breakfasts. Specifically asked for soft bacon. The bacon was disgraceful and had been sitting. Rock hard!!! My fiancee had ordered a side of bacon as well. My biscuits were covered in salt and the entire meal (both plates) were cold. Potatoes, eggs, bacon, gravy, etc. When the bacon originally went back his plate came back minus the bacon. I'm new to the neighborhood and this was my first time at this Bob Evans. I will say that the staff was extremely nice and efficient. The food came came out just as it was ordered and everything was perfect from crispy hashbrowns to soft scrambled eggs to amazing biscuits great taste, and gravy, blueberry pancakes, and so on. I would give this restaurant five stars however when we got there, I noticed that one of the ladies in the back was stacking the trays of raw biscuits to bring out and put in the oven and you should never have the bottom of one metal tray sitting on top of another tray of raw biscuits I did bring this up to the managers attention. A welcome relief It was hot, I had been doing some outdoor stuff, and my car's a/c is broken. As I headed home to Sarasota I was looking around for some familiar place that wasn't fast food where I could stop for a cool drink and food, and get out of the heat. I spotted Bob Evans. I was greeted, shown to a table, and given a menu. My server came right over and I quickly requested water and a soft drink. She got me those, and for the rest of my visit she took very good care of me, checking with me often to bring me more to drink. The food part also went well, taking only about 8 minutes. When I think of Bob Evans I think of their slow roasted Pot Roast. Where else can you find tender, delicious pot roast? And when I saw they had a new Double Cheese Pot Roast Dip sandwich, I ordered it. Man, what a good sandwich. I know I was hungry and pretty wiped out from the heat, but that sandwich was so, so good. Delicious pot roast, so much cheese, brown gravy for dipping? Wow, so good. I went to Bob Evans just to order a coffee and a slice of pie at the Sun City, FL location and it was terrible. The server took my order came back after 10 minutes, without the coffee and water that I ordered and said they had to make another pie and then proceeded to hand me the bill. The hostess was not friendly, there was one server in the entire restaurant, and the cook was horrible. The server was very nice, soft spoken and doing her best.
