Highly recommend getting a reservation since this place gets very busy (super easy to reserve, we used OpenTable) The service amazing, our waitress was very helpful and knowledgeable. I love how they show you the different cuts of the meat before ordering so you know what you are getting. The food...according to my husband "this has to be one of the best ribeyes I have had". The steaks were cooked to perfection, seasoned just the right amount and not dry. The sides are a la carte and our waitress let us know that we can order some of the sides as "smalls" since it was just the two of us (thank goodness, otherwise that would've been a lot of food). Although we were full from our meal I know we had to try one of their cakes since I heard the portions are huge and delicious. The chocolate mousse cake did not disappoint. The chocolate was not overly rich or sweet the cookie crumble bottom balanced the mousse out. I will definitely be craving this place when I'm not in Chicago This is already on my list as "places to come back to" if I'm ever in Chicago again.

Got on the list then walked back to our hotel across the street for a glass of wine while waiting which did not take long. Patio was cute to sit on and the weather was great. Got the ribeye which was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. Brussel sprouts and mushrooms as sides were really good too and were large servings. For dessert, got the crème brûlée which the sever recommended to share thankfully with as large as it was.

Our main server, Billy, and his team could not have been better; available when you needed them and out of the way when you didn't. When my wife mentioned to one of the team, she wanted wine with our entree, Billy was there 10 seconds later with two reds for her to taste. The focaccia with beef tallow was suggested by everyone, we thought it was nice, but nothing special. We split the beef cheeks for another appetizer and it was spectacular. We also split a Ceasar salad that was good. Both of us ordered the rib eye and a side of whipped potatoes. Both were phenomenal. Nice touch with offering the option for the kitchen to slice it for you. At this point, we were pretty full and got lemon sorbet (not too sour, not too sweet) crème brûlée gelato (good) and because it was our 39th anniversary, he brought us an "Italian donut " (sugar donut with vanilla ice cream) that was great. I noticed another table getting the biscoff cheese cake, and carrot cake. They looked great and were HUGE. Coffee came a little late but that's being picky. Complimentary lemon cello ended the evening with a nice touch. My wife said the service and food made this a wonderful experience and a memorable anniversary. I agree. The atmosphere is dark but romantic and the noise level isn't bad. I do have a HUGE COMPLAINT!! My wife's idiot husband (me) left the doggie bag with a good amount of steak and whipped potatoes on the table. We look forward to coming back with family and friends.

The good: Salad was amazing with bits of nicely cooked pork belly mixed in and the salad dressing is to die for Focaccia bread was very good but nothing special but the bone tarrow butter was fantastic and carried this bread. Brussel sprouts were flavorful but greasy and overcooked... Beef cheek ragu noodle dish was heavy yet tasty.. Rib eye steak done medium rare was fatty and very very chewy so this was a complete fail, but seasoned very well...extra 10 bucks for some dipping sauce for the steak but worth getting to elevate the steak...Definitely don't do any steak under medium here... Lemon sorbet was the true winner of the night...Delicious without being too tart..... Overall like I said, not worth the $250 price tag before tip...._

Perilla Korean Steakhouse -- Chicago…read more We had a very successful brunch at Perilla. The Kimchi Bloody Mary was definitely one of the highlights. Being from New Orleans, I personally like my Bloody Mary a little spicier and with a little more of that NOLA kick, but this was still a really good option and a fun Korean twist on a classic brunch drink. The food was excellent and gave us plenty of variety. The Korean tray was a great choice, along with the bibimbap and avocado toast. Everything came together really well, and there was enough variety that everyone could find something they enjoyed. Overall, it was a great brunch experience with good food, interesting drinks, and a nice atmosphere. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for something a little different from the typical Chicago brunch. We were looking forward to the Korean donuts unfortunately they sell out early sometimes so if that's something you're getting for For, you might want to get there earlier in the day. We had reservations at 12:30 pm and they were sold out. The service was good.

It would have been nice to sit by the bar as the inside of the restaurant was beautifully decorated but there was no space inside. The server was very friendly and helped me make the decision on what to order. She recommended the double smash burger with the sauce on the side and I got a Mai Thai (not pictured). The food was tasty. The drink was just okay. Overall, enjoyed the restaurant.

The food was good, but the service was mediocre at best. Our server barely checked on us, and we often felt ignored. We asked if they offered a complimentary birthday dessert after seeing birthday celebrations featured on social media and were told no. After we paid, the birthday girl spoke with a manager, who then offered her a chocolate cake and told her to ask for him if she came back. At that point, the moment had already passed. Our fries also came out cold and took about 20 minutes to be replaced. On top of an already expensive bill, there was an additional fee added for staff benefits, which we requested to have removed. The complimentary drink for the table and personalized birthday menu were nice touches and made us think we were in for a great night, but unfortunately the experience went downhill from there. I've had friends visit Maple & Ash and receive much better service, so maybe we caught them on an off night. But at this price point, I expected attentive service and a memorable birthday experience. The food was good, but not good enough to make up for the disappointing service.
