Big menu includes Breakfast till 11, seafood, and lots of sandwich options. Absolutely solid meal and good service but we didn't find the roast beef as rare or tender as other places we've tried like Blue House in Derry.

This place is a local gem to the Concord, NH area and has been around for decades. Simply the Best Roast Beef sandwiches around! l like the Royal Rib which is smothered in onions, peppers & mushrooms with Au Jus for dipping. They also have burgers, reubens, steak/cheese, clubs, BBQ brisket, seafood plates ect ect. Service is prompt & friendly with prices that are affordable. FYI...they also serve a great breakfast. Never had a bad experience so check them out & Enjoy!!

Have I never reviewed this gem??? It's one of my favorite places to go. They have amazing gluten free options. I get the French dip with the house fries and a delicious gluten free roll. My boyfriend tries different things. He likes the colossal, French dip and said the bbq platter was good. The meat is nice and red. Prices are great, food is fantastic, waitstaff is awesome too! Super accommodating. We always leave really happy and satisfied!!

This place was literally so good, do not let the view of it mislead you. The items on the menu literally speak for themselves, its as good as they sound. We just so happened to go at a slow hour but I was told this place can get packed. They have a to-go counter when you first walk in that most people apparently do, but my family preferred to sit. It's definitely a small town restaurant but they do their food so good. Sat with 4 different family members and everyone said that their food was a 5/5. Our server was super patient with us (we took forever to decide). My ONLY complaint is that they don't offer a hot lobster roll with butter..I was hoping that the lobster was made per order, or at least not pre-mixed with mayo even though only a cold option is listed on the menu, but I was in fact wrong. It hurt to eat cold, but it was a goo sandwich.

Even more famous now that I have eaten there and reviewed it.

Thoroughly enjoyable. I opted for the Giant with the $1 add-on for cheese, lettuce, tomato and mayo. The sandwich was size-able, the roast beef was tender and flavorful. I cut it in half and devoured the sandwich. I also ordered a side salad with sole blue cheese dressing. The dressing was surprisingly good! Solid blue cheese flavor, thick. I was seated instantly, the waitress was quick to get me set up, bring the food and the bill. Overall a great place to grab a roast beef sandwich.

Three way roast beef sandwich and a slice peanut of peanut butter pie. Nothing fancy but totally respectable. Ambiance is cute old style western fast food. Service was hospitable and outside picnic area really nice to eat and enjoy nice weather.

I was in town for work and I found this place looking for a place to grab a bite to eat and a beer. Boy I was glad I chose this place! The beef sandwich and onion rings were both great! Perfect with a nice cold beer. I definitely will be back again when I am in town for work!

This has to be a neighborhood staple and favorite. The place was packed and the staff super friendly. We found this via Yelp and the reviews were spot on. We tried the famous roast beef sandwich and we loved it. The meat was rare and sliced thin in a soft roll and had the right amount of mayo. So glad we stopped here. We were so hungry I forgot to snap a pic.

    Price of beer

Are you people crazy? 10 dollars for one draft beer? The beer was more expensive than the mediocre roast beef sandwich. I will never be back nor will members of my family.

I was driving down from Montreal to come to Nashua and had planned a lunch stop in this area. I joined a Facebook group all about New Hamsphire eats and Beefside was often recommended. The menu and concept seemed simple enough. When we arrived around lunch time on Monday December 18th, the place was already packed. This is a quaint, small town restaurant with a homey feel. There is a take out counter, otherwise a few tables if you want to dine in. I tried the famous roast beef sandwich and my partner got the "BBQ Beef Brisket Bomb" sandwich served with fries. For a place that is well know for their beef - we were both disappointed in the flavor of the sliced beef. It was not seasoned, had very little flavor, it was quite bland. It was tender and shaved thinly, which had a good mouthfeel, but the bbq brisket did not like taste like smoky bbq at all. It kind of tasted like unseasoned boiled or braised beef unfortunately. Perhaps it was just the cut we got, but it really needed some extra fat and salt. Luckily, for my roast beef sandwich, I paid the extra to have cheese, mayo, tomato and lettuce. This made a huge difference otherwise the beef alone would be very boring. Price wise and portion - this was perfect for lunch. I just wish the beef had more flavor. There are tons of great reviews about this place on here and Google, so it would be worth another shot.

    Great roast beef sandwich!

Delicious food, friendly service and reasonable prices. This place hits the trifecta! Best roast beef sandwich I've had since Tommy's Lunch (Cambridge, MA) in the 1970's!

Banana/strawberry and holy shit it was incredible!!! I. LOVED. IT!!! Damn it was good. I think it was like $12 tho? Am I crazy to think...meh, it's ok, (the price) I was on a holiday and you are supposed to enjoy whatever? haha!! I would normally never spend that much on a freaking smoothie! HOWEVER! Once we got into Manchester, VT....we saw another The Works Bakery...I SHO DID get another one lol. I was surprised to see that this place is a chain. When we were in Concord...it kind of felt like this was a place exclusive to Concord. Nah, it's not. Thats ok tho. I got a smoothie at a coffee house in just outside Bar Harbor and it was absolute garbage. So it was nice to have one where they actually have you what you ordered. Most places in Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire all allow dogs. I travel with my little Yorkie wherever I go. Alfred loves to travel haha! He is my child...seeing as I do not have any human kids. My dog is my life. So it's nice when you go into places and they welcome dogs. This place....does not tho. Thats boooo! HOWEVER! I TOTALLY understand! I TRULY do! I travel with my dog everywhere, but yes, I do realize this place is a restaurant and they all have their rules. I just love restaurants that allow dogs haha! I am not one of those psychos that will tear a place apart about not allowing dogs. I am one who actually respects policies like this. And yes, I bring my dog with me bc it's just me...and my dog. He is a 6lb Yorkie who I will never leave alone nor would I ever kennel him. I say all this bc so many people out there judge others who bring their dogs everywhere. He is a family member. He comes with me. Just go to this place wherever you run into one. It really is a great place. They were all SO nice in there even when they asked my take Alfie back outside. OH for the record too...I carry my little man everywhere with me. He's not like...running around everywhere...marking his territory lol Atmosphere in this location is very nice. Kinda dark and Lodgy feeling. Its nice. Located too in what I am assuming is a historic building. Noce view of the downtown area too if you take you lunch or whatever outside to their outdoor seating...which I am guessing is probably brought in now...seeing as it is almost December. Ok thats it. I know I rambled a lot here, but I feel it all fits with my review. I ramble a lot to begin with. If you read this...thank you! If you didn't...I will sleep in 5 mins and sleep like a baby :) Thank you The Works for a wonderful first experience. I live in Idaho. Wish we had you here. Thanks for reading YelperWorkers! The place was packed and it was clear why since for the price and what you got, it is probably the best sandwich place around. And the food just is not good. We bought a chicken parm sub and a meatball parm sub and both were just not good...to the point that we threw away the leftovers. The meatballs we basically burnt (when you bit into them...they were really dark on the inside and a burnt flavor). And the chicken parm had a very weird taste. Again, a burnt taste. Now both of these had tomato sauce. So maybe that we the problem. And the sub rolls are thin and soggy. Overall, the sandwiches were both just bad. Like I said, we ate some and threw the rest away. So we tried this place a few times now...and we are done with them. Sorry guys...we tried.

There is also an ice cream trailer outside next to the building too! I stopped in here twice this week, for takeout dinner and takeout lunch. Earlier this week, I stopped in here around 7:15 PM near closing time, but the deli/grill counter was closed for the day (closes at 5 PM), so I was limited to grab & go items only. I picked up a container of homemade macaroni salad ($3.25/lb plus tax) and a microwave & serve Jambalaya ($5.99 plus tax) to enjoy at home. The macaroni salad had a mix of soft ridged elbows, chopped celery, red peppers, tomatoes, seasonings in a light mayo dressing. The Jambalaya (heated in microwave) had a medium spicy flavor with a mix of red beans, onions, green peppers, tomatoes, chicken, smoked sausage and long grain rice in a tomato broth. Later this week, I stopped in here around lunch time and the place was very busy, parking lot very full. I placed my order the deli/grill counter for the Our Cuban Sub ($8.50 plus tax) and also grabbed a container of Garden Salad ($3.95/lb plus tax). Since the place was very busy, it took about 15 minutes before my name was called to pick up my sub. The Our Cuban Sub (7") was thick and heavy, layered with slices of grilled deli ham, tender carved pork, chopped dill pickles, yellow mustard, melted provolone cheese on a thick soft chewy toasted white sub roll. The Garden Salad had a mix of farfalle (bowtie) pasta, chopped red peppers, green peppers, green zucchini, yellow zucchini, spinach, cheese in a light oil dressing. Overall, the food I ordered from Flanagan's South Ender was excellent and freshly prepared. I will definitely have to stop in here for breakfast takeout before work shift.
