This place is great. It's pricey...so be prepared for that. My brother got the avocado toast, ( I think thats what it was) and loved it. I didn't get any food. I ordered a smoothie. Banana/strawberry and holy shit it was incredible!!! I. LOVED. IT!!! Damn it was good. I think it was like $12 tho? Am I crazy to think...meh, it's ok, (the price) I was on a holiday and you are supposed to enjoy whatever? haha!! I would normally never spend that much on a freaking smoothie! HOWEVER! Once we got into Manchester, VT....we saw another The Works Bakery...I SHO DID get another one lol. I was surprised to see that this place is a chain. When we were in Concord...it kind of felt like this was a place exclusive to Concord. Nah, it's not. Thats ok tho. I got a smoothie at a coffee house in just outside Bar Harbor and it was absolute garbage. So it was nice to have one where they actually have you what you ordered. Most places in Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire all allow dogs. I travel with my little Yorkie wherever I go. Alfred loves to travel haha! He is my child...seeing as I do not have any human kids. My dog is my life. So it's nice when you go into places and they welcome dogs. This place....does not tho. Thats boooo! HOWEVER! I TOTALLY understand! I TRULY do! I travel with my dog everywhere, but yes, I do realize this place is a restaurant and they all have their rules. I just love restaurants that allow dogs haha! I am not one of those psychos that will tear a place apart about not allowing dogs. I am one who actually respects policies like this. And yes, I bring my dog with me bc it's just me...and my dog. He is a 6lb Yorkie who I will never leave alone nor would I ever kennel him. I say all this bc so many people out there judge others who bring their dogs everywhere. He is a family member. He comes with me. Just go to this place wherever you run into one. It really is a great place. They were all SO nice in there even when they asked my take Alfie back outside. OH for the record too...I carry my little man everywhere with me. He's not like...running around everywhere...marking his territory lol Atmosphere in this location is very nice. Kinda dark and Lodgy feeling. Its nice. Located too in what I am assuming is a historic building. Noce view of the downtown area too if you take you lunch or whatever outside to their outdoor seating...which I am guessing is probably brought in now...seeing as it is almost December. Ok thats it. We were headed up north for a hike and needed a good spot for breakfast/lunch. We had looked this up after walking the Farmer's Market and decided to give it a try. First off, there truly is something for everyone. It was hard to choose what I wanted because everything looked so good. I ended up with an egg sandwich, but everyone in the group got something different. The portions were HUGE and everything was SO FRESH. The place was packed and it was clear why since for the price and what you got, it is probably the best sandwich place around. We happened to walk by and saw that it was packed. I looked up the reviews before entering, they were great. The interior was trendy, rustic, and industrial. There were seats outside and inside. There was a line but it moved quickly. I didn't realize it's a chain of about 11 locations in NH, MA, ME, NY, and VT. This cafe started in Manchester, VT in 1988. They're environmentally conscious and provide fresh food/drinks using local suppliers. Not only do they offer good food/drinks, they are a good company that is for the environment; I am for that. I had an iced latte and the Sunrise burrito. The burrito had eggs, quinoa, avocado, bacon, sweet potato, VT cheddar, and pico de Gallo. This was so good! One of the best burritos I've had in a long time. The service was friendly and fast. I wish we had this place near us! I would be there weekly lol. read more

I was really disappointed with my drinks today. My cappuccino tasted more like plain milk--perhaps the barista forgot to add the espresso shot. Busy place, but I can see why! Very organized and efficient crew back there handling the constant lines. Not a lot of seating but many come in for their "to-gos". We both ordered breakfast sandwiches and they were DELICIOUS. I have to say, the Works' sourdough bread recipe is absolutely PERFECT. This is the only place I would order anything on sourdough. And the fact that it's freshly baked is a huge bonus. Besides not having enough seating to accommodate the volume of customers, the cafe has a nice vibe and smells so good- fresh coffee and bread baking. Great friendly staffing and good food. I just happened upon The Works after hiking the flume & driving down the kanga with no particular destination. Super glad we stopped here as everything was delicious & portions were generous. Cold brew was strong & perfect for the rest of my 4hr drive. BLT on sourdough was huge, stuffed with bacon, mixed greens & tomato with just the right amount of mayo. No matter how busy they are the service is always quick and staff are friendly. Their GF bread is great- multigrain! Not the usual store bought stuff other places use. And the cream cheese- get a tub of one of their specialty homemade cream cheeses to go! They are delicious. read more

I must say, The Works definitely has one of the better bagels I've had outside New York City, excellent quality with a good chew. They have a bit of everything to satisfy breakfast, lunch or early supper cravings (they're open 6am-6pm) from smoothies, salads, paninis and *serious* Mac n cheese! They have 8 locations in New England offering many veggie-forward healthy choices as well as their decadent Mac n cheese. I would not quite consider this place my go-to but for the fact that it opens very, very early, should you need to get something done and be heading to or be located in Concord, NH; and that the coffee is decent and seems to offer free refills. The cream cheeses are addictive but nothing to write home about. If not part of a catering event and rather left to my own devices, I would more likely divest my calorie intake elsewhere. I will say that they are *very* consistent. In terms of what to expect, you're almost never in for a surprise or significant margin of difference (if any, really). read more

Check this place out! My iced latte was great, went back for it every morning. Tried the works bagel with chive cream cheese and it was good, more smear would have made it better, I like enough cream cheese to eat my bagels halves separately. Bagelworks, I'm just a little confused. not only did you nix the open view to your mammoth stand mixer, you seem to have entirely forsaken your bagel namesake. I guess I don't see the need to opt for such a generic stand-in title when you had such a storied and memorable brand. "The works" is certainly a step down in my opinion. I mean, nearly 50% of the title is occupied by a definite article. Are bagels really that divisive a baked good that you have to go to such lengths to distance yourself from them? I had the dagwood on a garlic? bagel, and the berry smoothie. So good. My spouse agreed; this was her favorite restaurant meal during our visit. If you're in the mood for something a little different, get a savory bagel with just plain schmear & sliced tomato. Less is more - well, sometimes at least. My friends and I went to The Works for lunch on a cold and rainy day in November. It was hard to find parking as it's on Main Street, but there are a lot of metered spaces around if you can snag one. When we arrived, it was busy, almost all of the tables were taken. We didn't have to wait that long to order, and it took about 10 or 15 minutes for everyone's food to be ready. The menu is extensive and full of delicious comfort food that's hearty and healthy and can cater to any dietary need. I got a lentil soup, which was perfect on the cold day, and a farmers veggie sandwich. My partner got a bagel and lox, and my friends--who are locals--got a dagwood sandwich and a sunrise burrito. We popped in here on a Sunday afternoon. Most other places were closed so it was a relief Thais was open. They have an extensive menu that can be a bit overwhelming when you walk in. But we opted to go for the bagels- their speciality, and must say we weren't disappointed! I got the works bagel- which is live an everything bagel and was nice, fresh and flavorful! We were visiting from CA and stopped in on a Saturday for coffee, which was very good, so the next day we stopped in before heading to Boston Airport.
