I would love to say this place is great, but... Came in on a Saturday at 6 pm and found a full house. Only about 6 tables and a small bar. All locals. No host to ask about how long the wait would be for a party of four. When we did finally get a bartender to acknowledge us, he said he didn't know how long it would be. "You can stand over there" You don't know? Stand over there? No, what can I get you while you wait? So, the Italian place next door got our $250. check that night. Came here one night as I traveled for work. Showed up and there was trivia going on, how cool! So I stayed a little longer than I planned. Food was top notch, I had a massive burger, don't remember the name. Side of chips and dip was great. A little pricey but could tell it was quality food! Love beer bones!! This is a fairly small, bare-but-warm type place that always has an amazing selection of different beers. What I especially love is how chill it generally is... there's always a few people here, but it's never out of hand. I stop in frequently late afternoon/early evening to relax for an hour before hitting the books again. They have an entire refrigerator full of beers you can buy. I forget the exact pricing, but it's super reasonable. LOVE seeing so many San Diego breweries represented, but have also gotten to try some fun IPAs from the Capital Region. The bartenders have a wealth of knowledge they are more than happy to share with you when they have time, from debating best options on tap to recommending a local brew to try in the comfort of your own home. Happy Hour is 4 (I think)-7 pm - get $1 on drafts, as well as select bar bites discounted. They truly are "bar bites" - nothing fancy or knock-your-socks-off-amazing, but for a great price and quite nosh they will do the trick. You're here for the beer, but if you need food, you can definitely find something to tide you over. read more

Stopped in tonight and what a great place! A super selection of craft beers on tap and holy crap! ,a cooler loaded with canned craft beer. If you can't find something you like to drink here well, I don't know what to say. They also have a limited alcohol selection you can choose from. Here, its all about the beer and rightfully so. You would be hard pressed and definitely in need of Uber or Lyft if you tried everything they have to offer in one visit. The selection is on rotation so there is always something new to try if you become a regular (highly recommended-stop in to find out why). We got to talk to one of the owners who was working behind the bar and found him to be super personable and knowledgeable about all of their beers and beers in our general area. They have a nice selection of food to choose from. Great tasting food that goes well with the beer you choose. I highly recommend stopping in to see what is on tap and enjoy the experience. We will definitely be back with friends. Check it out. Its not like so many of the other brew pubs in our area. read more

I love when an owner/establishment has the confidence to stay in their lane and just deliver the highest quality service they can around a specific product they believe in. They are not trying to compete with the franchises that have 100 items on a food menu or every drink imaginable. What they do have are extremely high-quality regional beers served in clean, specialized glasses, with a very small bar menu that is intended to complement but not overtake the libation. You can tell their taps are routinely cleaned and quality reigns supreme in this establishment. Great beer selection and yummy food! We went for lunch and it was our first time here. Small bottle shop in Newton Plaza with surprisingly good, interesting food. We got the pretzels with warm beer cheese (comes with 3 fat pretzel sticks) and the chicken 'n hots as appetizers. The chicken 'n hots was spicy and very flavorful. Wish the serving was a little bigger. For our main items, we got the soup of the day which was beef & farro, a take on beef & barley. It was clearly homemade and warmed us right up. Huge serving, ended up taking half of it home. I got one of the special sandwiches, a short rib reuben. The meat was a little chewy but was still enjoyable to eat because of the homemade kraut and Russian dressing. My husband got the baan mi. He said it was good but it was on the smaller side. Both sandwiches came with thick seasoned potato wedges. They also have games you can play while sipping. I am definitely looking forward to coming back here and trying other menu items! read more

They usually have a cider or two as well as a limited cocktail selection for the non beer drinkers, and you can carry out cans or crowlers. In our group we had the beer braised short ribs, meatloaf, duck confit tacos, Bahn Mi, and a few of their appetizers. They were all phenomenal. Can't say enough how pleasantly surprised we were. We talked to the chef and they will be changing their seasonal food out every 3 weeks. The beer was great (they also have some good liquors too!) but I recommend this place for the fabulous food!!! This place is phenomenal! Came here for an early dinner. Ordered the prosciutto and burrata and the Utica greens for appetizers. They were both great- and the crustini accompanying both was toasted perfectly- not hard like many places. The fig spread with the prosciutto and burrata topped it off very well. We split the Grilled short rib Pastrami Rueben and the the Bahn Mi sandwiches. Bother came with roasted potatoes and pickles. The pickles had a great brine. The potatoes were perfectly seasoned and crispy. The Rueben was the best we've had. The pastrami was perfectly cooked with a slight peppery flavor with sauerkraut and melted cheese. The rye bread was perfectly grilled. The Bahn Mi pork belly was on a great tasting baguette. The pork belly was also cooked to perfection- not fatty or too hard like many places. The hoisin flavored sauce and crust slaw completed the sandwich perfectly. My husband had the Coded Tiles beer I had the Dr. Loosen Reisling. Both delicious!
