Our experience with Chef John LaPosta over many years, at various locations, has always been positive. We also are fans of the Detroit style pizza we were first introduced to at Whitman Brewing in Saratoga. Korner Bar & Grill is closer to our home, and it would be more convenient if their pizza was equally as good. Arriving on a Saturday around 6 PM it was apparent that they are already popular after being open for only about one week. None of the tables were available and only 4 seats at the very long bar were vacant. We chose two bar seats that were the furthest from the dining room where a fellow was entertaining with his guitar and singing. These seats were close to the entrance with an occasional cold draft as people arrived and left. We chose these seats because the noise level was unbearable everywhere else. I actually turned my hearing aids off to tolerate the noise level. Our server at the bar was friendly and welcoming. She quickly served us water and provided us with a "cheat sheet" of the available beverages. There is no written food menu. Numerous QR code cards are posted asking you to use your phone to read the food menu. A soda ($3.50) for my wife and a 20 oz. draft Modelo ($7.50) for me were quickly served. Most impressive was how quickly the kitchen served our apps. 5 minutes! Yes, FIVE MINUTES! Crinkle Cut Fries ($6) and Uber Cheese Stixs ($13). I've never had fries from Nathans so I can't attest whether these compare fairly as implied by the menu. But I grew up on crinkle cut fries that my Mom made, and hers were better. My wife thought that many of these fries seemed like they were dehydrated. The menu says that the Uber Cheese Stixs are house made with 5 types of cheeses and a corn flake breading. The breading was nice and crispy and the cheese inside was soft to almost runny. The best part IMO was the melba sauce. Our two 8-inch square (6 pieces each) pizzas were delivered in a very reasonable 15 minutes. My wife went with the weekly special Shrimp Scampi ($17). I choose the basic cheese pizza with San Marzano tomatoes ($12) and added three toppings (sausage, mushrooms, & peppers) for $7 more. Both of our pizzas were flavorful and were actually more flavorful the second day - although less crispy, of course. Just like I've never been to Nathans for fries, I've never had pizza in Detroit. If I'm comparing Detroit Style pizza in Colonie with Detroit Style pizza in Saratoga Springs, I would prefer Saratoga. While KB&G has an airy dough, I think Whitman's is slightly lighter and airier. Both have nice crispy cheese edges, but KB&G edge is oilier. Somebody let me know what days/times are the slowest. I'd like to return. read more

Ambiance: Brand spankin new 2 days ago, brightly lit, Shuffleboard, Pool table, very very long bar, high top tables, low tables, trendy decor, kind of open air trendy atmosphere and a great big giraffe at the door to greet you... Service: Greeted soon after sitting by Ariane who served us with water, menus and tableware. She gave us time to look over the pub food & choices on the menu. We gave her both our drink order and food order. She was sociable and frequently checked in with us to see if we needed anything else. She was a friendly enjoyable person to have wait on us. Food & Drinks: Sangria - very tasty with plenty of fruit, DH ordered beer he liked it :). We shared our 2 orders of Sausage & Peppers $12 and Hand-Breaded Chicken Tenders with sauce to dip. $18. The food and drinks were very tasty especially the warmed roll with the sausage. The Chicken tenders could have been cooked maybe a minute or two less but I would order them again the flavor was great. Would have given 4 stars only because of the extra time on the chicken tenders. This would be a fun place to gather with a group, as in the future they plan on having entertainment adding the table games & huge TV's this could be a fun local, neighborhood bar to meet up with friends and family. read more

The comments made about the staff being rude were most definitely true. I was rudely spoken to about not calling ahead for a "function " because I came in with a balloon and a box of presents because I didn't have my car. I explained that my retirement party was at work and only about 10 people were coming. I thought that was it but the staff and owner continued to talk about us like we weren't there. Buyer beware! The Korner Bar and Grille in Colonie is the RUDEST, low class dive! My sister and a few work friends chose it for happy hour to celebrate her retirement. When they walked in the door, the owner complained that they were too big a group - the place is EMPTY except for them. They advertise HH. When we tried to talk to the owner. He responded rudely. The server and bartenders also complained about having to serve us. The food is too salty and the bar smells like an old perm. There is more but I will stop for now. Stay away! read more

PATRONS BEWARE!!!!!! Main reason for the 1 star is that they skimmed my credit card. We were there on Saturday September 20, 2025, for dinner, woke up this morning and had charges from a Killdevildiesel website ($995) and Domino's Pizza ($79) in Hudson Falls. Both charges were online, the Killdevildiesel was reversed as they couldn't verify all my information. Even after I called my credit card company to get a new card, a charge was declined from Home Depot ($135). My server asked if I wanted to join their rewards program, probably a scam to get some of my information. DON'T EVER GIVE THEM YOUR CARD, even after I did, they came to my table with the credit card terminal to complete the charge. Why do I believe it was them; this was the only time in the past 6 months that I have physically presented my card, I normally use Apple Pay, that is the best reason in the world to use Apple Pay, your information is not shared with merchants, won't be making that mistake again. This was truly unfortunate, as the food was really good and we planned on returning. read more

The service was so bad is was comical. We made a reservation for 10 which was confirmed. When we arrived we were told by the waitress that she hadn't checked the messages and did not know we were coming. No apology at all. We were seated with the understanding we had to leave at a specified time because another party was coming in. Apparently she had checked their reservation. Ok, we're making the best of it, mistakes are made. We order apps and our dinners. Our dinners arrive, no apps ever served. The waitress, "oh my fault, I never put the app order in". The food was mediocre and cold, probably due to it sitting in the back waiting for our app order. It's a shame, I wish the best for any bar/grill owner these days, but this was just completely unacceptable and I will never go back again or recommend to anyone. read more

Service was friendly and food was decent. The ambience was terrible. There was a party of 36 parents and small children in the restaurant. Parents sat and drank at the bar while their approximately 20 kids sat in a nearby room. The children ran around and screamed the entire time we were there. The parents were spoken to multiple times about the behavior of the children but nothing was done. Also the deafeningly loud vulgar music during a 6:00 dinner shift that required me to shout across the table was less than inviting. I'll think twice about going back any time soon. read more

In between 4/5 starts, decided to be generous because I would definitely go back. The food was pretty great, kind of an excess of salt though. Wings were a 10/10!!! Had a sandwich that came with a pickle, and it was the worst pickle I've ever had in my life. It looked perfect but wasnt brined long enough maybe (the only not salty thing was the pickle?) service was nice, lots of check ins on us. Other weird thing is the space. Couldn't wait to try Korner Bar and Grill and did so tonight. The bar was packed and tables were full but there were still free tables. My husband ordered the smash burger with fries and side of gravy, and I had one of the weekly pizza specials, a Mediterranean pizza with roasted red peppers, artichokes, pesto, ricotta. YUM! My husband said the burger was really flavorful. The fries were thick cut, which I usually don't like, but these were smaller chunks and cooked perfectly. The gravy tasted homemade not the jarred stuff. The winner of the night was the pizza. It was just as the menu described, crispy around the edges, airy inside. Delicious! The menu is small but I want to try everything on it! The only complaint was the place was cold. Many people were sitting with their coats on. We will dress in layers next time but we're definitely going back! A great addition to Colonie! Service was on point too! read more

Overall this place is a 4 despite some negatives. Innovo is one of my favorite restaurants in the Capital region so I figured this place would at least be solid. Positive: Overall I go out to eat somewhere because the food is good. Since this place is owned by the owner of Innovo I expected the food to be good. We ordered a pepperoni pizza, poutine, hot dog, and the chicken sandwich (simplicity). Chicken sandwich was very good. Nothing really special though, nothing that made me say I need to order that again. But still good sandwich. Poutine was pretty good as well. Not overly keen on the breaded cheese curd, I'm assuming they're frozen and last longer so that's why. They tasted fine in the poutine but there wasn't a lot of them for size of plate and being breaded the cheese doesn't melt in the gravy. Food overall was solid though. So many places now, charging crazy prices for sub par food that may or may not be good. With the owners in charge, I'm going to always expect this place to put out solid food. So because of that, I'll likely come here a decent amount. Negatives: This place is insanely loud and not in a good way. The music just bounces off everything, they need some sound dampening ceiling/wall fixtures. - I had 3 servers so it was a little confusing. The 1st server was completely rude and luckily we only saw her one other time. We were literally being sat down, my butt was on the descent to the chair but hadn't touched the chair yet. She walks up and asks what we want to drink. Especially given it's a brand new place and we hadn't seen a menu yet, we weren't sure. She was not happy we didn't come into the restaurant already knowing what we wanted to order for drinks. Kind of huffs and puffs which made no sense and was off putting enough we'd have left if she kept serving us. Rest of service was much better luckily. - I like the menu but I do wish there were a few more items. Even being my first time and wanting a few different things. I could see myself getting pretty bored with the options. I never want a hot dog when I go to a restaurant. I like chicken but it dominates a lot of the menu. The Sandwich type part of the menu is just okay. Chicken sandwich is a solid sandwich but also isn't so good I was craving it again. Only one burger option, at least two very different burger choices would be nice. The smash burger sounds like the chicken sandwich; probably tastes really good but also is pretty basic and doesn't sound like something I have to try. - I've seen online they have really good specials and pizza specials. We had no clue and weren't told about them, some of the pizza specials I've seen sounded really good. - I was really excited to try the Detroit pizza. We got a pepperoni. It didn't have much pepperoni. I had two slices that had no pepperoni and had forgotten we ordered a pepperoni version in the first place. The crust was also a little greasier than Detroit pizza I've had in the past. I can chalk this up to being new and figuring out the process while being busy. It wasn't so bad I couldn't eat it but it wasn't nearly the best Detroit pizza I've ever had. It was a solid pizza though even though I didn't get any toppings. read more
