All of the seltzers are on the dry side, but they had a few cocktails, from a can, though, that were all delicious. Fun euchre tournament once a month and they are dog friendly. Solem Oath has been on my list for breweries to try for I don't know how long. An opportunity finally arose however when I managed to get a hold of one of their beers that was a collaboration beer done with Wander Brewing. I almost always immensely enjoy collaborative beers and the one I had in this instance was no exception. The beer I had was the Nightmare Cyclist, a Schwarzbier which I was highly impressed with. I got a nice beer mug of this delightful dark beer and enjoyed all of it's flavor qualities like a roastiness, maltiness and a slightly burnt taste but not a characteristic to make it off putting at all. The beer also has a creaminess quality to it as well. Such an excellent beer and starter for this brewery and I would love to try their other beer types to see if I am equally impressed as I was with Nightmare Cyclist! read more

Lively neighborhood brewery that's dog friendly and surprisingly had a lot of young families in the crowd when we visited on a Saturday early evening. The atmosphere was great. Billiards table and darts available. Plenty of long tables with bench seating, high top window or bar seating as well as some bistro tables. Interesting mix of young friends hanging out, families with toddlers, and individuals working of their laptops sprinkled in Everyone we interacted with were warm and friendly. Music a tad too loud for my taste but it could've been because we were sitting just under the speakers. I enjoyed my dark witbier but it was a can from another brewer. My husband had some of their beers.. can't recall what he thought about them so must've been decent! Only thing missing from this spot was an outdoor patio and a food menu. I included photos of a pop up vendors Seoul elote Hot dog but I'm guessing there's only food on the weekends. A nice brewery located in the heart of Logan Square. I knew I already liked their beer from beer fests so I was excited to find I liked their brewery location. I really liked the spacious bar area but also the plethora of tables. There is seating for everyone. I also appreciated their overall design. While in town visiting for a short couple days, I made sure to hit up a couple of Chicago Breweries. Prioritizing a couple I had never been to, and also hitting some mainstay staples. The first new to me brewery was Solemn Oath. Since opening back in 2012, they have just grown both from a capacity perspective to having multiple brands. The location is quaint, nicely decorated, and pretty crowded for a weekday. I was lucky enough to hang at the bar with a friendly person's pup for a while, since I was missing my little goofball at home. I had a flight of beers and took my time enjoying each. The Promise Kept: An Imperial Stout aged in barrels. Beautifully balanced with nice notes of dark cacao and espresso grinds. The Knowledge Gained: A Coffee Stout aged twelve months in bourbon barrels. They used Manbot Coffee roast that gives nice bitter roast notes without being acidic or astringent. Waterfowl: A Helles that they aged in Oak Foeders. Very drinkable lager that goes down easy with a bready malt character and spicy hop bitterness. Clean, crisp, and downright easy going. VIBES SINCE 1920: An American Pale Ale that hits all the spots of an OG APA. This one was created by the women of Chicago Craft Beer and has the traditional grapefruit, resin, and pine notes you want out of an APA. read more

At this brewery one must take a solemn oath to never discuss what you hear and see or you will die. If you give a good Yelp review they make an exception. Solemn Oath is an established brewery with a more recently opened taproom. Finding it is an adventure itself. Those who complete the journey will be rewarded with good ass beer and maybe food trucks on weekends. For this thirst quenching journey I brought my one friend. It has many of the same beers as the Naperville location. This is located not far from another brewery that's called Middle Brow so hit that one up as well. Has a pretty comfortable bar. There's also plenty of outdoor seating on the cool patio. Each are open even in the winter, being heated. The inside of the brewery is good too. I had a Totally Illogical. It's $6 for most pints. This is a fruited wheat ale, with notes of guava and limes, so it's tropical. She had a Belgian Whiteout Ale. This one was pretty smooth. As for food there's nothing for humans. Some dog treats at the bar are a few bucks or more. They get to have something. Finding it can be hard. It's located at the intersection of Armitage and Richmond west of California a few blocks or so. The worst thing is this isn't close to public transportation. read more

I can't believe I've been missing out all this time! If you haven't tried this place, do it! I did the flight which had the Seer of Visions (triple hazy ipa), the Pennies for the Vendor (double hazy ipa), the Grand Place (Black Witbier), and the Telegraph (Scotch Ale). All the beer was so good. And our bartender, Marcus, was just all around awesome! He gave our dog a treat and made her feel right at home. TIP him well if he's pouring your brews! Usually when I go to a brewery, there's a small handful of beers that I really enjoy, while the rest are okay, but this place has made me a fan. And they're dog friendly which is a def bonus. Another brewery in Logan Square but I'm not complaining! Solemn Oath cans are available lots of places in Chicagoland and their Naperville taproom has been around for like a decade, but they're jumping into the city in this new location (sorta like Ravinia brewing which also just recently opened on Fullterton). Do I like the trend of suburbs companies trying to be cooler by coming to the city? Eh... if it brings us more good beer then I'm gonna give it a big thumbs up. No food, but you can bring it in. Interior vibe by the same designer who did Estereo in Logan Square. And the owner told me that the oil paintings over bar show Belgium and Wisconsin--both places his family is from. He lives between the west suburbs and the city. Said that he planned to open last year but the pandemic pushed it until now. 19 beers on tap... which is a huge selection for a single brewery and shows that they've been around. Snaggletooth Bandanna is probably the one people will recognize cause you can buy it from cans in the grocery store. But I liked a bunch of others, including a tequila-barrel aged beer. Bam. You can smell the tequila on the beer its sorta amazing. Interior seating only (no beer garden) but the windows are big and bright so feels good for an overly humid summer day. read more

Been a couple times now and always leave wishing they distributed more of what they offer in the taproom. The taproom consistently has some unique and far more complex beers on tap that I end up really enjoying. This last time there were two or three barleywines and a couple other barrel-aged beers + a good doppelbock. I also really like the simplicity of the venue. A handful of beerhall style tables, a pool table, and some booths in the back corner. It's no frills and it's perfect for just hanging out for an afternoon or stopping in after a dinner. Lastly, I LOVE that it's indoors AND dog friendly. I was at another brewery recently that was indoors and dog friendly but really didn't want dogs inside. Not here, the staff was so excited to see my dog and there were one or two dogs inside when we got there. Makes this an even more perfect winter location. Can't wait to go back! read more

I almost didn't come here because they have under 20 reviews but this was by far my favorite brewery/beer I had while in Chicago! They have probably around 20 beers on tap and every one I had was super flavorful. If you're into hazies, this is the place for you - my favorite beer I had was Tree of Vikings. This is a really nice little tasting room! Its airy and clean which is perfect for groups of friends or families. As for the beers, they are generally good, but I have had a little better elsewhere. I think this place is pretty newly opened. It's a great addition to that section of Armitage, adding a great place to grab some drinks after dinner. It is open seating with long tables and benches (I did not love the benches, but I do think there's softer seating in the back corner). There is a pool table in the front corner that you can sign up to use. The ambiance is very chill. A lot of great music was played. It's a great spot for a larger group. Tables are spaced far enough apart that it doesnt feel crowded even when there's a lot of people there. The alcohol choices are plentiful. The majority of the menu is their own stuff. There are a bunch of draft choices and even more can choices. If you like IPAs, this is a perfect place for you because there is a heavy representation of IPAs on the menu. There are also cocktails and such--everyone will be able to find something they like! They do not serve food here, but you can bring/order in food. They even make it easy to order from two restaurants across the street with QR codes on the tables. Make sure if you order or bring food in that you have the appropriate utensils. They almost always have local food vendors on the weekends. Even if not-- You can always order pickup from Parsons chicken and fish across the street. This past Christmas, they had a live brass band playing Christmas carols. The staff is fantastic, and the pub is an asset to the community. This is such a great brewery! Definitely my favorite in the area for a lot of reasons. Firstly the staff is exceptional and always so friendly! Woody is great and makes sure that everyone has what they need while enjoying their time at SOB. Secondly, having the ability to bring our dog to an indoor bar is just the best. We get a nice walk in to get to and from the brewery, and we get to sip beer and warm up in-between while he says hello to the other pups hanging out. Everyone is so relaxed while hanging out at SOB and just enjoys the vibes, music, and great beer. Definitely make this your next spot to meet up with friends. Stopped in here on a rainy Saturday afternoon and really enjoyed it! They had 19 beers on draft, which almost guarantees there will be at least a few that you enjoy. We decided to do a flight of 5 oz samplers, and you have your choice of any of the beers, and I thought all of the ones we tried were great. The staff was friendly and quick, the only thing I would recommend is getting something to hold the samplers for those who are building their own flights. The flight techinically isn't something on the menu, so when I ordered the samplers, I struggled to get all of them to our table. It's bar service only, so it would be nice to have one of those planks or something to hold the samples for easier transport to the table. Other than that, we really enjoyed it. read more

Enjoyed my time a few weeks ago at this brewery. I wasn't fully aware there wasn't food, but enjoyed that they have the Parsons Chicken QR code menu at the tables. Parsons's is right across the street so it's easy to order ahead and just walk over to then bring food back to enjoy with your beer.
