Okay! This is a frustrating post because I feel like Beggars Pizza, specifically the one on Western in Blue Island, is so hit or miss. This is not the first time, but they give you the option of how you want your pizza cut and they do the opposite. Today's pizza is the worst one I've had yet. They had to take it back because it was cut in triangles instead of squares. When I tried it, the crust is just above raw, the sauce tastes very bitter, and the jardiniera, which is usually pretty finely chopped, was in huge chunks today. The redeeming part of the experience is that the girls who works at front counter are always super nice. I feel bad for them because they get to hear everybody's dissatisfaction when it has nothing to do with them. The pizza place is always crowded and it's a lively place to step into on a Friday night. I feel good about my son and his friends hanging out here after school or on the weekend and I love that they always have an officer either inside or close by.

The original location. I picked up a pizza here (eaten here many times). In and out, quick and easy. Pizza is tremendous I've also had lunch here with spaghetti and Italian sausage.. delicious..

First complaint is the lack of professionalism, second is the lack of problem solving skills. I like this pizza but the service really chases me away. I often debate wether or not today the person taking my money woke up on the right side of the bed. I've only had OK experiences there has never been an instance in which they've gone above and beyond or even been apologetic. A computer generated response, how typical of this shit place.

A true hidden gem on the south side…read more Over the years, I've become a regular here because the pizza is SO DAMN GOOD!!! It's crispy, fresh and delicious. There's something about the sauce I can't even describe and if you like mushrooms, add them to your pizza, they're probably my favorite part. Even the leftovers taste good. What keeps me coming back though is the staff and overall vibe of the place. I love how the bartenders Dawn and Bill always remember my name. I love the wood paneling on the walls. I love being in charge of the jukebox, playing 80's hits and the occasional country song. I enjoy playing pool and actually don't mind that it's in the center of the place. It's cash only. There is an ATM though. If there isn't a game or sports on, they will be playing Ridiculousness, Impractical Jokers, the news or Wheel of Fortune. Everyone will be laughing, shouting out answers at the TV or bitching about corrupt politicians. Go on Monday for half price pizza. Go on Wednesday for free chicken and cheap drafts. Go on Friday for free hot dogs. Go to Frank's if you simply want to get out of the house. Tip your bartenders - they're good people. I've been coming here for years and I'll be returning for years. In fact, I'll be there next week!

He kept saying that he wanted me to try the pizza because he thought I'd like it. He said it reminded him of Fox's Pizza in Beverly, which is what we grew up on. Honestly, Frank's is somewhere I would've never gone without my brother's prompting. I don't frequent the area and rarely go to dive bars, but I was pleasantly surprised. The bar was quiet, clean, and comfortable. It's no frills for sure, but it's a bare-bones environment in the best way. My brother and a friend of ours were already there when I arrived. They'd already started a tab so, I just went to the bar and ordered. It was early (noon) so I didn't order alcohol. I only ordered Pepsi, but my brother and friend ordered drinks. They liked them and said they only cost $3.50. We ordered a large pepperoni and sausage pizza which arrived fairly quickly. it was piping hot too!! It was so hot that the cheese would just slide off the cracker-thin crust. The pizza was excellent though. My sister thought the cheese was too thick, but, I liked it. I thought it was fantastic. The meats were high quality and the sauce was tasty. Our friend liked it as well. The four of us ate the entire pizza. We visited on a Saturday afternoon, so the bar wasn't packed. There were a handful of regulars at the bar and a couple of people playing the slot machines. There was a baseball game playing on the TV, so it was fairly quiet. During peak hours I'd imagine that it gets pretty packed. The bartender and our server were cool, so I have no complaints about the service. I wouldn't say that Frank's pizza tastes like Fox's in Beverly, but I do understand why my bro made that comparison. They're both good for different reasons. I'd probably visit Frank's again in the future if given the choice.

We sat at the bar and chatted with the bartender. I didn't get her name, but she was personable and affable. My brother was familiar with her since he visits semi-regularly. My brother loves both the burgers and pizza. He claimed the pizza rivals Fox's pizza in Beverly, so naturally I had to check it out. The pizza is good, but it's no Fox's!! We ordered double pepperoni, which was perfectly thin and crispy. It was a little too greasy for me, but other than that, I have no complaints. I also had an amaretto stone sour, which was delicious. My brother had a drink as well, but I can't recall which one. He always orders it, though, so clearly the bartender prepares it to his liking. The bar has a welcoming neighborhood vibe. The bartender knew some people by name or face, but everyone was welcomed with open arms. The bill for was about $45, which is pretty standard nowadays. The pizza was very reasonable ($18), which was awesome. There are slot machines in the corner for all the eager gamblers. Next time I'll try the burgers!

We both love the pizza, and in fact, it's so good that we've hardly ever tried anything else. When we did stray off the pizza selection, the food has all been delicious. Contrary to popular belief, "Chicago Style" pan pizza isn't typically eaten every day by folks that live here. Everyone would be 1,000 pounds. The wife and I go to Louisa's probably 6-10 times a year because it's incredibly filling, but it NEVER disappoints. The service is always fantastic. I'm 99% sure the same family has owned it (Louisa's family - God rest her soul), so the whole "family vibe" is on full tilt at this place and it shows in their service. Servers who care about your business because the business itself is more than just a part time job. The restaurant is quaint, and is perfectly suited for either a date night or a full-on family function. Their side room is plant big enough to host a private party or event, and I know they often book that room for exactly that. But the real focus for us is the pizza. The pans that are used over and over again. The buttery crust that is always crispy and not too think. The ripe tomatoes that are always seasoned perfectly... the real of the show at Louisa's is their sausage. It's literally like none other we've ever had and we love it!! The private room was comfortable; it didn't feel overly crowded or anything, even though there were at least eight tables for dining and then a few others for food and gifts and whatnot. The one thing that was a little weird was that there were a couple bathrooms in the front of the room, which seemed like an odd and somewhat conspicuous place to put them. There was a bathroom out in the main restaurant, too, and also a family bathroom which I appreciated. That's where the changing table is located.
