When I am in town and not able to run to Angie's Sports Bar & Pizzeria for my custom vegan stuffed pizza I run to Lou Malnati's Pizzeria for their deep dish. I have confirmed with staff at various locations to ensure it is all vegan. The Crust Crispness at Just Right tends to be a little overdone for me. The sauce tastes wonderful, I especially like the little tomato chunks. I feel they could be a little more generous on the toppings especially when the price of the pizzas includes cheese I am not getting. This is a nice easy pickup location with plenty of parking, even at their busiest. On average I feel my orders have been ready about 10 minutes after the selected time on my online orders. I know deep dish takes a little longer but if you expect your order by a specific time, maybe add room for error? read more

It was kind of confusing because when we walked in, they asked if we are dining in, but it doesn't look like there is a dine in option. The place looked pretty small. We ordered 4 deep dish pizzas, some garlic bread and a salad. Service was okay, we felt kind of ignored when we were in there. We were told that the food will be ready in 30-40 minutes but we ended up waiting over 1 hour for it. Even when the pizzas were ready, they said we had to wait for the salad and garlic bread, which was another 15-20 minutes wait. The food was pretty good though, each slice had the crust, sauce, cheese, etc. It was my first time having deep dish pizza in Chicago and I was pretty impressed with the pizzas. I've noticed such improvements over the past year. They've reduced their menu and really focused on the things people order. The pizza quality is improved and wait time is reduced. We ordered a malnati classic and a Caesar salad. The pizza was cooked perfectly and ready on time. The salad although much simpler than the restaurant salad options was fresh and delicious. I'd stopped ordering from this location after a couple of bad experiences last year. I'm happy to say the oak lawn location is back to being good. read more

I placed a $100 delivery order on 2/14 at 4:25pm. It said it would be delivered at 5:47. I called at 6:20 and was put on hold for half an hour. Dinner never game and they haven't refunded my $100 order. I got an email this morning at 8am saying my order was cancelled, but no refund. I'll never order from this location again. read more

Has anyone seen my pizza? I know I haven't. As a life long Chicago pizza fan, Lou Malnati's was always my "go to" favorite. That is not the case anymore. As a Chicago based chain always touting its local roots, they farm out its local delivery to Door Dash which is not local. The price increases dramatically and since there is no local control and no one takes responsibility, the result is a total lack of honesty by Malnati's and many angry customers. Im still waiting for my pizza delivery order from Friday. No one knows what happened to it. Door Dash took no responsibility , nor did Lou's and the "dasher" whose name was Mohammed could not put enough english words together - or pretended not to- to tell me what happened to my pizza. Yes, I know its just a pizza, but it was MY pizza. A $41.36 pizza . If Malnati's continues to disrespect its customers, you'll soon be writing about YOUR pizza too read more

Not my best experience at this location and this WAS one of my top three pizzerias. I ordered in route from work so that the food could be ready when I got there. This location has closed their lobby and only has delivery and curb-side pick up. I was so excited to get home and have my dinner, unfortunately it was a disappointment. The sausage pizza only had cheese on one side and the deep dish was charred. I did enjoy the boneless chicken, celery and gorgonzola sauce. My family and I have spent a good chunk of money here. I'm going to give thin crust pizza at this venue a hard pass. We ordered a thin crust large pepperoni and sausage pizza. Delivery took around 1 hour 20 minutes, but it was snowing so that's fine Pros: the pizza tasted passable; the driver was awesome Cons: the pizza seems very dried out when received. Like it had been left out too long. It had a great flavor, but the texture was like chewing a bouncy tire. I ended up adding more cheese to my piece, since the pizza seemed lacking. Before fees this pizza was 19 something, and I feel it should have either been bigger or been a better texture/not dried out. I remember deep dish pizza being full of toppings and tons of cheese, I shouldn't have been able to pick that slice up with my hands, but eat it with a fork and knife, not the case with this one. They barely put any sausage on it, I could count on 1 hand how many pepperoni pieces were on half the pizza. The pizza is disappointing. It's not the Lou Malnati's that I'm used to. I ordered a thin crust with sausage, peppers & onions. The sauce was flavorless. There was barely any sausage or onions. The crust was not the buttery crust you're used to. I'm not sure if it's changed because of the new owners or bad management however it's terrible. I'll try another location one more time. Lou's is our favorite corn meal crust pizza. Online ordered one at 10am Superbowl Sunday half baked to be picked up at 5pm. At 5 pm the small storefront was VERY crowded and people seemed upset. I told them I was here for my 5pm order. After 25 minutes I went up asked where my order was? The girl said "oh yeah it's ready in the back I saw it." I asked could you get it? Another 5 minutes before I was given it. Now the pizza was delicious but why was the pick up so chaotic? I was solicited a questionnaire and voiced my dissatisfaction. I have not had Lou's pizza in quite a while. It was always a treat when we ordered one. How the mighty have fallen. We ordered an extra large thin crust with extra sausage. When my wife politely reminded the counter person we had ordered extra sausage, to her chagrin, she informed her the pizza in question had extra sausage. The anemic pizza had very little sauce. When I arrived in Chicago, I was told that I could not leave without trying Lou Malnati's. I ordered the Chicago Classic Deep Dish Pizza. The pizza was unlike anything I have had. This was easily the cheesiest pizza I have eaten, that was not an issue since I love cheese. I was so surprised how crunchy and buttery the crust of the pizza was. The sauce was perfectly slathered across the top of the pizza which perfectly unified the pizza into one element. Lou Malnati's was an experience like none other and until I try Giordano's this is the place I will recommend people to try when they come to Chicago. read more

This location is our go-to when we want deep dish. Every now and then I want a thin crust "the Lou." Tonight we placed an order on the app. My husband went to pick it up when it said it was ready. When he got there, they told him my pizza was ruined coming out of the oven and that they were making another one free of charge. After he waited 30 minutes, he was given my pizza and his order. When I opened the box, I was shocked to see the "new" pizza was a mess. Free or not, it never should've been given to my husband. A few parts of the crust were burnt, but the rest was not fully cooked. The whole thing was pretty much a disgusting soggy mess. I grabbed slices and the toppings slid right off. And the pizza was very wet. It was like a pizza soup. I wanted so much to bring it back and ask how this mess was served after my initial pizza was supposedly ruined. I don't understand the hype of this place. People have been telling me to try this pizza for years. I finally made it, and it's underwhelming at best. I was looking for deep dish pizza and these skinny, diet slices have me scratching my head wondering where the rest of the pizza is located. We ordered appetizers and pizza, and now I need to go find something else to eat after these baby pizzas. The crust was not cooked as well as it should have been. What is the draw? Why are so many people wild about this place? Our waiter was incredibly inattentive, and we had to flag him down multiple times to get what we needed.
