Their manager also will magically never be at work and will also magically never call you back. These people have wasted over six months of my son's time and will never tell me anything or let me speak without cutting me off and magically. I've never seen a company that's so unorganized and still be in business. My child had regular sessions with ABA. There were 22 cancellations from the ANA therapist in 6 months. I called to cancel sessions due to covid in our home. That was the end of Dec. we still haven't started sessions back up and it's February 19th. Supposed to start Monday. The only reason we're start back up is because I called them. They were to get back to me in 2 weeks and never did. That has been my experience with this company. My child needs consistency in his schedule especially in these uncertain times. I have never felt this company has that as a priority. Communication is another thing this company lacks. You leave a message and are told it will be taken of. Good luck with that unless you're talking to a supervisor.This company is to help your child and you not add more stress to your life. read more

If I were to suggest anything to BHW, I'd say up your standards, increase your training, and perhaps pay more to attract better talent. BTs are the face of your company. More people hate ABA services than you know, why not try to stand out and be the company people flock to instead of the company racking up dozens of one star reviews and disappointed parents? For anyone scrolling through wondering if they should go with BHW, seeing all the negative reviews, let me tell you this-it all comes down to the BT. If you have a good BT, it doesn't matter how crappy this company is, stick with them (we had an AMAZING BT). If you happen to lose your great BT or just starting out with this company-do not waste your time on the carousel this company will send you on. We've had 3 wonderful BTs, 1 BT we never met, 3 BTs who either quit or got fired before a week was up, 1 BT we had to replace, and on our last BT who shows very little initiative. 9 BTs in less than 1 year. Most of them stated we were their first client. Many of these BTs were like a deer in the headlights, completely clueless as to what was going on. Many of these BTs are totally clueless, or scared-one BT quit on her first day after an epic meltdown. BHW do your job! Train your techs! Some are going so far as to be DAMAGING to the client (our kids). BHW appears to not train their BTs properly. Many are recent college grads, or still in school. I get inexperience, I truly am willing to give a chance-but hell if you want me to give a chance you better give your best. I will say this, we've had 2 supervisors, both were great-very knowledgeable and very helpful. One thing the company does well is respond to complaints and issues very quickly. Unfortunately no matter the promises or attentiveness, the people trying to fix what's wrong cannot fix a company with chronically undertrained BTs. The BTs are are simply unprepared. If you want right therapy for your child don't choose BHW. I am not just writing this review after first few days with these people. I have been with them for 4 months and then changed to other vendor. The communication system is worst. The supervisor will neither respond nor guide the therapist who comes home. She doesn't even know how the child is doing. After many requests and escalations they are still the same so had to change the vendor. They will just send a therapist who doesn't have any prior experience without even giving proper training and assistance to them. They just wasted precious 4 months of child's life. This company needs to be audited by some type of government agency. As behavioral technicians, our training was done in some office in Gardena. The receptionist was in charge of the training and she was confused and could not answer any basic questions directly. A lot of our so called training involved watching inspirational videos on tablets. We were assigned cases, kids, and were not given one on one training with the case managers. In several cases I went to a clients house, and they didn't know who I was or that there was an appointment scheduled for that day. With one of my kids, I could not get ahold of the case manager. I emailed human resources and told them this. The woman all of a sudden appeared in the email chain and claimed she called me but I never called her back. That is a lie. I never saw this person heard from them or received any direct training from them. I was left alone with kids who have severe disabilities and cannot speak. I was not given any training directly on how to interact with those children! The parents assumed I had spoken to the case manager, but oftentimes the case managers would not call or email me. i had no idea what to do the training was poor and borderline unethical period i'll say it, THIS COMPANY IS UNETHICAL. WE ARE BEHAVIORAL TECHNICIANS DID NOT GET PROPPER TRAINING AT ALL AND MANY CASE MANAGERS DO NOT SHOW UP, DO NOT TRAIN YOU WITH THE CLIENT DIRECTLY, AND DO NOT RESPOND TO CALLS OR EMAILS. read more

AWFUL! I'd give negative stars if I could. The BCBA came to our home, did the evaluation and then 2 weeks go by and I email her and get a bounce back. Turns out she just quit, and the company didn't even bother to let me know. They told me I'd have to wait 3 months for another BCBA. When I followed up in 3 months, they said they didn't have anyone and they could no longer provide services to us. Thanks for wasting 5 months of precious development time. And then they billed me for the report and the evaluation, a bill I got 1.5 yr after the initial evaluation! RUN AWAY! read more

This company goes through so many behavioral therapists it's unreal. Out of approximately 11-12 therapists that my son has had, only 1 has truly made a difference in his life and guess what... she's leaving. Every single time he starts with a new therapist, we start from scratch which is honestly a waste of our time. Unfortunately they hire many new grads as well as people who simply have no clue on what to do. Therapists get promised "x" amount of hours and logically, once the company can't deliver, they quit. Please do something to improve your hiring process! Another issue I've had has been with the supervisors. I switched to BHW thinking I would have a great experience with them. They took forever to get an insurance approval I had to call my insurance instead of them figuring out the problem. After they scheduled me 2 unexperienced BT's which I had to dismiss one of them do to her telling my 8 & 4 year old daughters I didn't like her and my two daughters being upset at me I also had a 3 different supervisors on the case which didn't do crap. One of them told me that she would go only when weren't in the park or on outings. I do not recommend this company they do not make a difference! read more

My experience with BHW was not good at all. My son was receiving ABA services for about 2-3 months and I noticed the lack of knowledge and experience with their BT's. Within two months my son was switched to two different therapist, both therapist were unexperienced and didn't even know what they were doing. The clinical manager took forever to reply to my messages. The supervisor didn't seem to care about my son's case, she was just there because she had to. I would give this organization a 4 star because they have been great most of the time with my 2 kids who are on the spectrum. I have been lucky to get great, caring and stable therapists for one of the kids and as a result she has been making astronomical improvement in both speech & behavior. My other child is equally improving but at a much slower rate. He is yet to have a major leap as per my expectations having gone through frequent turnover of therapists & missed sessions due to impromptu schedule change. By and large the future looks brighter because the BHW team actually listens whenever I complain to see how they can make things better. i would recommend the organization. read more

Not even worth 1 star, this company is terrible if you are a client or an employee. Clients will have inexperienced untrained people making things up in sessions and will not give your child the best service. Majority of employees have no background in mental health or ABA. If you are an employee they pay poorly and receive little to no benefits, cases are rare and if you do happen to get to full time hours nobody cares about you. They throw around promotions like nothing even if you don't deserve it but you will be over worked and underpaid. They seemed to be admin heavy but light on actual ABA therapists. We spoke to various administrators along the way, and they're very nice. But when we finally got to the point of bringing in an ABA therapist to our home (process was around 6 weeks), an admin called and said they had a therapist for us. This was on July 3rd. He then went silent, said wait, I'll call you back by the end of day. He didn't. I called them a week later. The admin I had talked to didn't pick up. I left a message, waited. Two days later, I call again. A different admin says, oh the guy you were working with is on vacation. He'll be back in two days. Ok. I thought, it seems like he should have completed our case or passed it on before going on vacation. She said she'd give him the message, and he'd call me. I waited, but he didn't. So I called again. A different admin admits that they didn't have an ABA therapist for my child - as in they hadn't hired one yet. What had they been doing for 2 months?? But she assured me they have now found one, but the therapist wasn't qualified and had to go through the training. At this point my insurance found us another provider, but I got a call from BHW on 8/10 more than a month after they were supposed to have begun therapy for my kiddo to tell me they had a person who was almost, maybe, possibly ready to perhaps begin therapy. But also the times I would want wouldn't work, and I'd need to accept 6-8 pm for therapy. My kid is young and a morning person. 6-8 is quite possibly the worst time for us. They were also somehow unaware that my insurance had already dumped them. All those admins and yet they don't know how to facilitate care. I would NOT recommend them. Also, they convinced my husband to give them our credit card to pay for our portion of the assessment they did before services could begin. They charged us far more than our insurance would have allowed. So now I have to fight them on that, too. read more

I am flabbergasted and beyond frustrated with BHW. Do NOT use them! My 3y/o son was diagnosed in April. I immediately got referrals for all necessary therapies. Started speech and OT in May. It took BHW until May to even call and schedule an assessment. My son completed the assessment on June 19th. I kept calling the service coordinator, asking why valuable days in my son's early intervention were being wasted and why we didn't have a therapist. They kept making excuses, telling me that Tricare (my ins) required a cert that none of their therapists had. Mind you, I'm in San Diego, one of the largest cities in the nation. They would say they'd update me when they'd have a therapist but I would not hear back. I finally had to tell the regional director, Candace, that I'd be terminating services with their company. She asked if I'd be willing to let her rectify the situation. I agreed to give them another chance. She found a therapist within 24 hours. So their staff was just unwilling to do the work required to find my son a therapist. By 2 weeks ago, nearly 3 MONTHS after his assessment, we started sessions with Deisy. She was very sweet but had ZERO experience. She never looked up from her iPad, never facilitated activities, could not engage my son, did not set timers, did not communicate (a common theme for this company) and would literally stay on speaker phone with her supervisor, Timmy the entire time and Timmy would have to tell her each step of what we were supposed to do next. Eventually, my son naturally got frustrated with this impersonal, effortless "therapy" and started yelling at her to get out of our house. Instead of ignoring his tantrums, Deisy would continue to engage with and aggravate him. She eventually restrained him from behind, even though neither she or my son were in any danger. He was angry but not hitting or throwing etc. There was no coming back from that. I also tried several times coordinating our speech therapy appointments with Deisy and Timmy. Neither of them got back to me to let me know if it was something we could do or if I needed to reschedule the therapies. Deisy didn't show up to speech, which made us lose 45 min of therapy time that day, forcing me to reschedule more therapy that week. She shows up to speech for the next appointment. My speech therapist was also floored by how inexperienced Deisy was, how unengaged, how she wouldn't stop looking at the iPad, how aggravated my son was. Age was so concerned, she emailed me to tell me she doesn't think Deisy was a good fit for my son, or anyone for that matter! I called Timmy that day to say we were no longer interested in their services. I had 2 lengthy conversations with her about how distressing this was to waste 3 months doing no therapy, only to get a therapist who has no clue what she's doing. She informed me that the regional director would be contacting me. That was Friday. I show up to speech today and DEISY SHOWS UP! No one told her we terminated services! The poor girl drove all the way to my home and I was forced in the awkward position of telling her we no longer needed services through their company! I then call the regional director, Candace, myself since she couldn't be bothered to call me back to tell her that Deisy showed up and what garbage communication their company had. She was condescending and made it seem like I was being unreasonable! When I asked her why she never called me, as promised by Timmy, she said "well Timmy told me you were very upset with Deisy's performance and that you didn't want to talk to me" and she had "no idea" that I was terminating services with them. So she was just totally ok with me being unsatisfied and wasn't going to make it right with us. So now over 3 months of time has passed, where my son could've been getting services and improving his life skills, and I'm back at square one. I'm having to get approvals from insurance, research new companies, see if they have availability etc! Now my son is 4 weeks from starting preschool. I was hoping to have had him working on skills needed for school for months at this point. Now my son will have to start school with zero ABA to prepare him or myself. This company has zero interest in helping your child. Spare yourself a lot of wasted time, money, and aggravation! Do NOT use them!!!! read more

I would rate this company as average. It has same amount of pros and cons from my perspective. One of the things I didn't like is that some therapist don't really care about the kids. They just want to do their job and leave. My son's first therapist was Esmeralda (she is now a Supervisor) and she wasn't too interested or invested in my child. She left to be a Supervisor and didn't say anything or good bye to my son. She was kind of cold. I didn't really like her conduct as a therapist. My son's second therapist quit within 2 weeks. The third therapist was Molly and SHE WAS FANTASTIC! I really enjoyed her investment and motivation to help my son. We got attached to her. The Occupational and Speech Therapist were awesome at setting goals and evaluating my son. The scheduling crew weren't on top of things sometimes (as my son's monthly visits to see the Occupational and Speech Therapist were not scheduled sometimes) and I found some people there were too laid back or careless about the families that were receiving services. BHW had a few turn overs of in home therapists, with the understanding that this is a tough role to retain good therapists. BHW seems to hire high caliber entry level college graduates into this role, but unable to keep them. I think this is a challenging field even from other companies. i like Christine Zeyen who is professional and knowledgeable as a manager. She is very resourceful to the new hired therapists. So to start I'm gonna say don't waste your time with these people.. when I signed my son up they had better reviews and that's why I joined but now seeing the negative reviews and going through my own horrible experience with these people I understand the negative stars! At first all was great and dandy.. so either I was to nice or they think because you are new to the game ur a stupid parent who won't notice when they are throwing your kid to the back of the bus.. That's one, second, it seems they hire and and move up people who are straight out of school or have no experience!!!! If you have individuals play the supervisor and clinical manager role don't have them come to my house and just regurgitate whatever they read in a damn book and makes no sense with the situation being spoken of let alone the behaviors I'm telling you my child has.. oh and let me add the behavioral therapist they hire who don't have autism experience! And quit when they feel the pressure seeing the behaviors that may last more than an hour.. This company lacks so many things and have given my son the crappiest service! Yeah I learned things here and there and learned to manage behaviors thanks to the little people who actually give a dam about these kids and care about the job itself! (Hands down I give five stars to Joseph clinical manager, Haley Behavioral Therapist, and Kathleen supervisor) these three individuals actually care about the kids and there needs being met! Don't waste ur time here, you will have to worry about people doing there damn job, who don't show up when there suppose to, or cannot give you the support you need, or meet your child's needs!
