My hand surgeon said for me not to just go back to my regular physical therapist but emphasized i go to a hand therapist. My niece's husband who is a physical therapist, recommended Evans Hand Therapy which is not too far from me. A physical therapist friend recommended Ricardo over at Evans especially since I had two things done to my hand that I needed an experienced hand therapist. Ricardo is a CHT (Certified Hand Therapist). Ricardo knows what he is doing and is very friendly. Another therapist there, Josh, appears to know a lot too but have not dealt with him much. After 5 sessions, my hand is about 85% healthy. I highly recommend Ricardo. As my physical therapist relative said, you recover must better and faster if you have great surgeon and therapist. I hurt my finger and was really scared it would never work properly again. Dr. Kimberly explained where my finger was hurt and what we needed to do to heal it again. I'm really glad she took the time to do that because it made me less scared that my finger was forever damaged. I started therapy and found out her staff is just as amazing as she is. The vibe is casual and actually fun. All the patients are super friendly. I really enjoy my therapy appointments. They're very gentle- I'm not every worried they'll cause me any pain. I was referred to Evan's Hand Therapy by my doctor when I broke my pinky and my hand/wrist was Injured from a bad fall. From the first time I went there I felt very comfortable and at ease knowing I was being well taken care of. During my time as a student volunteer here, I was surrounded by a positive atmosphere and welcoming staff who were knowledgeable in their profession and generous in their personalities. The therapists here such as Kimberly, Ricardo, and Nancy have an intrinsic nature to help their patients with quality care and attention to detail. They go above and beyond by conversing with patients allowing them to fully understand their treatment as well as providing them a nurturing environment that is integral in a rehabilitation process. Expertise can be seen in their treatments of the entire arm, ranging from but not limited to treating carpal tunnel syndrome, frozen shoulder, rotator cuff and triceps tears, and mallet fingers along with the formation of splints as needed. Along with the team of therapists, Josiah, ensured a sense of hospitality and was informative to patients as they entered the clinic. As a student, I am grateful for the time I spent here being able to observe and work with a great team. Thanks to their willingness to mentor and answer my questions when needed, I learned a lot about the field of occupational therapy and specifically hand therapy. Had Surgery July 13, 2022-Carpal Tunnel surgery right hand, My Doctor sent me to this office for of course Therapy. I am so happy & satisfied with my beginner progress I am sharing. I was a real police 9-1-1 dispatcher for 33 yrs., Retired that profession & took a super nice job that required a little typing & a lot more hand writing, that's how Carpal Tunnel syndrome made it's way into my life. I was having too much pain and muscle tightness on both of my arms and wrists. From great communication and easy scheduling, to first class therapy from day one.... Suture removal and wound care transitioned to therapeutic Paraffin wax, to moist heat, then more rigorous stretching, ultra sound, dexterity and then strength exercises.... By the end. They got me back to full function, pain free, and and back to work in record time. Just as importantly as the therapy- are the staff. I'd give them more stars if I could. I went to Evan's Hand Therapy after having surgery to repair two torn ligaments in my wrist. I had been receiving traditional physical therapy - what my insurance company called "work hardening" - but I was not seeing any real improvement. I complained to my doctor who said she would recommend Evan's to the insurance company. I am very glad she did. They are in a small building off Broadway, with a very low-ceilinged parking garage. From Joshua, who greets you at the door, to Kim, the owner and chief Occupational Therapist, to Dena, one of the other therapists, to the newer young lady whose name I cannot remember (she is very nice and friendly, I just have a terrible memory), every one pitches in and helps you in your treatment, making you feel comfortable, treating you like a friend from day one! My therapy was a combination of heat, manipulation, and mobility training, finishing with some strengthening, and then ice. I had 18 sessions, and went from being constantly in pain and unable to do some basic movements to in almost no pain and having gained back about 60 - 70% of my mobility. I still have some work to do if I want to get back to pre-surgery conditions, but my friends at Evan's gave me a tremendous boost on that road. I call them my friends because that's how they made me feel. The have eclectic taste in music, they use Alexa for timers, they do everything they can to accomodate all the personalities that pass through their doors, and they know exactly how to handle the emergencies (yes, emergencies can happen during occupational therapy) that pop up occasionally. I have recommended them to multiple people, and have commended them to my surgeon. As I said, I'd give them a lot more than five stars if I could! I was referred to Evans Therapy for a injury to my left shoulder . Very bad fracture, and due to the one on one care and attention I received from my wonderful therapist I did very well. Kim did not help me through rehab at all. I saw her 3 or 4 times with each visit lasting about 15 minutes. No resistance equipment was used or any technique that a 5th grader couldn't figure out on their own. In each 15 minute visit I was simply told to extend my arm and bring it back in. These steps could've been told to me over the phone or email. After the 3 to 4 visits she moved her office to a new city which made it even more inconvenient for me to see her so I stopped seeing her at this time. I received a bill for $615 after what my insurance covered. I left several messages to dispute the charge with no call back. She then sent it to collections where I am being harassed for hundreds of dollars for what exactly? read more

I broke my elbow August 2016 in a climbing accident and was told I had a "terrible triad". That resulted in emergency surgery and lots of physical therapy since I lost almost all of my motion in my arm from all the scar tissue and trauma (10 screws and a metal plate). The doctor I was seeing referred me to Kimberly and she was very knowledgeable in the area. She made me two casts which helped in the healing process. One cast that I slept in was made completely straight. That cast worked on straightening/stretching my arm. She would adjust this cast occasionally so that I was getting a bigger stretch each time. Each time I went we worked together to gain back the rotation in my forearm and extension of my arm in general. Kimberly was very kind and approachable and truly wanted to help. She didn't take shortcuts and really explained and mapped out what I needed to do to have the best results.
