I was so very excited to try my first beignet !!!! Easily placed an order over the phone and added on a breakfast sandwich too, since it was going to be a long day! I tried the Cafe au Lait, but it wasn't very strong. The flavor was not overly sweet either, it was good tasting, it's just me, I prefer a stronger coffee. The beignet's were the hit! I personally loved the like crispy edges! I think it could have used a TON more toppings, powdered sugar too. They were hot and flavorful, not too thick with crust and not too thin.... The mini beignets are so unique and offer more crunch per surface area, but you also can't go wrong with the full sized beignets for a proper experience. We were passing though the area headed to Houston, so we wanted something authentic and tried this place and so glad we did! My husband started with the pralines and cream coffee and he said it was the best coffee he's ever had. He practically licked the cup clean. We ordered a breakfast to split so we didn't order more than we could eat since we are on the road. The sausage was the best breakfast sausage I've ever had! It was juicy and delicious! They are just as wonderful as I recall... the beignets are, in my opinion, superior to other more commercial ones I've had. I placed an order at 9:10am, following their motto "skip the line - call ahead." I arrived at 9:22am, on my way to my daughter's school. I was hoping that I would be able to get in and out. But to my surprise, I arrived and there was only one waiter, a young girl around 14 working. She was very polite, but was being bossed around in a negative way by the owner. The criticism was not constructive. The owner appeared to be overwhelmed and took her frustrations out on the waiter. I have come in here often enough to know that there is a high rotation in workers. Now I think it's because of the owners attitude towards them. It is 10am and I am still waiting. I've watched 4 potential customers walk out and an elderly guest falling asleep in the chair while waiting to place his order. My suggestion would be to hire people she can trust to work the register and train folks that are old enough or are capable of making beignets alongside her. The beignets are great, however, the service and wait times, cause me to regularly second guess coming here for food. I also had to cancel a class and my daughter was late for school due to this. If all you are going for is a beignet then this is a great place, light, fluffy and delicious. The down side is breakfast, I got a breakfast sandwich for $11 and the word small comes to mind. It comes with 2 minis but the sandwich was on a small crescent, the cheese was not real cheese, the sausage was as thick as the cheese and the egg was not even a full egg, all croissant and no substance, extremely overpriced. Ordered on DoorDash but will not be a returning customer. I left a review on their DoorDash as well and they responded very rudely so I am coming here to leave my experience as well. The "Hot Buttered Grits" were probably the best thing I received even though for a small square Togo container they were not worth the 8$ they cost me. The "Croissant Breakfast Sandwich - Sausage" was meh, okay... but would be cheaper to get a frozen one from the grocery store for the same taste. It did arrive warm which was a plus. Their menu states they had a "Large Chocolate Milk" and a "Regular " in which I got one of each ( one for myself & one for my child) they were the same size ,and 1 day before expiration. (The owner says I should remember next time they have one size yet the menu states they have two). The Beignets were horrible ( in my opinion) since this is MY review. The owner has commented that everyone has their own taste buds. Which I agree but mine were not pleased. They tasted like old grease and were very heavy and dense and nothing like the beignets that I'm used to (being a NOLA local). Pretty upset at the price point as well for everything. Gotta give a bit of a break since they don't seem able to staff a cook or servers, but reality still needs to be considered. The location is not great for staying to eat, so DoorDash instead. It's a breakfast place that serves egg meals... but ONLY scrambled (seemingly powdered) eggs. Don't bother asking for a fried egg. The biscuits were tasty, and the two micro beignets were alright. We ordered the regular Carmel glazed beignets to-go and they were very light on the glaze which was disappointing. I do think they are trying, and the service was very polite. There are just better options available for the value. **After the owner's response** There are several signs posted around the place advertising that they are looking to hire servers and a cook, offering a sign on bonus for the cook. The restaurant was not socially distanced, just dirty tables and no staff to attend to the 3 occupied tables (no customers were turned away, that's all that showed up on a Sunday morning). A chef of 1 year should be able to fry an egg on order. The waitress was very clear that scrambled eggs are the ONLY option (leading to the suspicion of boxed or powdered eggs... which are very plausible since we actually ate and tasted them). The bacon seemed like it was microwaved. I did want to allow for grace due to staffing issues everywhere but it seems like this owner needs to adjust the rose colored glasses. Regardless of "tastebuds" there is a difference between "glazed" and "lightly drizzled". We went out of our way to dine there, and even stayed when our immediate reaction was to leave when we saw the condition of the dining area. But we really wanted to support local and skip the chains, but honestly there is better product being made at the Waffle House (whom will fry an egg if you'd like). read more

This is a tiny, nondescript spot nestled in a small random strip mall. We were in New Orleans for an event on what also happened to be a big holiday weekend and we wanted to grab some beignets before heading back home but I decided I'd rather look for some outside of the city and bypass all the crowds. The coffee was a perfect dark roast, our breakfast croissant sandwiches were average croissant size, not huge but tasty and hit the spot. The sandwiches come plain with no sides, but they do come with two mini beignets per order. We also ordered a regular beignets and they were delish. The staff was friendly, if not the most attentive. The only negative I can offer was that I had had a coffee while waiting on our order so a few bites into my breakfast sandwich and I was out of drink. Our waitress never came back over so I had to try to get her attention which took a while since her attention was always focused elsewhere and she never looked our way. I almost hate mentioning it because she really was sweet, but it did get to the point I was becoming annoyed... and very thirsty. Best beignet and coffee in Louisiana, hands down. My husband has been working here from GA for two months and when I came down he had to introduce me to his favorite spot. I'm a coffee snob and this is hands down the best cafe au lait I've ever had. Beignets are fluffy and fresh. We had time to kill before our swamp tour so our family popped in to try beignets for the first time (We were visiting from Michigan). They were amazing!! We tried the traditional kind, and some with raspberry glaze and they were all delicious--soft inside and not greasy at all.
