Best neighborhood take out if you know what to get. General Tso's tofu best I've had. Curry dishes are greasy messes of mostly onions--don't go there. Sesame dishes good. Stick with Chinese basics and it's good for a quick meal. Don't look for atmosphere. Not much behind bullet proof plexiglass. It's next to a laundromat across the street from a pawn shop in the "bad" part of Takoma Park. Ask for extra fortune cookies or you won't get any. read more

I was seriously hungry and in need of food. In that regard, I was more than satisfied: I ordered a spicy Hunan chicken and was pleased to see that there was just as much veggies in the dish as there was chicken (gotta get my greens in!) I'm talking carrots, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, mushrooms, snow peas, and most of all, a heaping mountain of broccoli! This is ideal for me, since too often then not I am not served many veggies along with my food at small Chinese restaurants. The white rice came in a Chinese takeout box on the side, which kind of made it difficult to eat together with the Hunan chicken. Okay, so ingredients out of the way, the dish itself was nothing special whatsoever. I dare say, even bland. It's too bad since the presentation and cooking techniques were on point (the chicken wasn't dry, and the broccoli still retained a solid crunch). But the sauce was just not doing anything. It was just kind of there as a present, oily substance. The spice wasn't overwhelming at all, in fact I got more heat from eating too fast and burning my tongue on the broccoli (I had somewhere to be afterward). I wouldn't choose to eat here again if all of their food was of the same taste, which is again too bad since the cooking was actually well done. The flavors were just, nonexistent? Basically, I only ate it to quell my hunger and to not actually enjoy the taste, which is not the goal. I can't complain too much though, it could have been worse (I would rather be served an under seasoned dish than an over seasoned one, have you tasted pure sesame oil?) The food itself is relatively cheap, but I can't see myself coming back here unfortunately. If their execution improves, this would be a hit! read more

Beijing Delight is a gross place to eat. The aesthetics of the restaurant is poor. I arrived at the restaurant already place a order using Grubhub. I went to pick up the order but first got a haircut in the same plaza of the restaurant. I parked next to the restaurant. The owner arrive to the barbershop shortly afterwards & warned me to move. The owner gave me (5) minutes to move. I was in the middle of my haircut. The owner of Beijing Delight was rude & rather up-noxious. The restaurant is hardly busy. However, the restaurant monitors the parking spaces & will cause an unpleasant scene if you park & not go into the dirty restaurant. Needless to say, due to the owner's response, I canceled my order. I ended up moving my car & finishing the haircut. The owner rude disposition & poor restaurant quality changed my appetite & mind. Be ware!!! read more

The food service is definitely always great, the place place definitely has a good ambience, it's great food worth the money.

Was craving Chinese food but didn't know where to go so I picked this place since it was the closest to me and I'm glad I did because it was very yummy! Ambiance- there are a couple places to sit. Super casual like your average Chinese takeout place. There were a decent amount of spots to park in their lot which is a plus. I ordered the Singapore Mei fun for takeout and there was So. Much. Food! It was seasoned really well and nice and hot. It says spicy next to it on the menu and I'm usually used to my Singapore noodles having a kick but it wasn't spicy at all. Still tasted very good though so no complaints here. This may turn into my new go-to! read more

This place is HORRIBLE, please DO NOT eat from this place. I asked for some chicken and fried rice and got sick to my stomach. The food stinks, it seems that these people recycle the oil, and the chicken is hard. On top of that these people talk amongst themselves in front of costumers in a foreign language, they don't have the decency and respect for their costumers, you don't know if they're saying something bad about you in their language, they just leave you hanging there, looking like an idiot. Beijing Delight is your basic no-frills Americanized Chinese food take out place. They are a bit behind similar establishments that are now expanding their menus with more items like curried tofu and dishes with faux meats for vegetarians. The white rice you get in a box with your meals is also low quality white rice. To their credit, they offer green tea and I think brown rice. Their cashiers are also conscientious. One noticed that my order had all vegetarian items in it and warned me about a type of spring roll that has eggs in it. There are only 2-3 tables in their lobby. There have been climate issues in their lobby for years. In winter they have a heat lamp running and in the summer a fan. Should you try eat there you will share the space with people standing & talking on their phones waiting to pick up their orders. In short, Beijing Delight should be considered as strictly a takeout place. Beijing Delight has fantastic hours. If you have a taste for take out later in the evening you will be in luck. read more

Things have changed here, and Not for the better. The hot and sour soup used to be delicious. Now it is awful. Neither hot nor sour, it was annoyingly sweet. The broth tasted really bland. Couldn't taste any meat. Seems like they changed it to vegan or vegetarian broth. Terrible. No flavor. Chow fen noodles weren't as good either. Now that I can get better and more authentic Chinese food through Uber eats from the new spots in college Park (Zhang's, northwest etc) I doubt I'll eat here anymore. read more

I love this place! Their Sweet and Sour Chicken is the best I have ever tasted. It's always moist and delicious. Their Pepper Steak can be a little salty, but nothing mixing some rice in can't fix. It's not pretty, inside or out. And sometimes they have people answer the phone that speak virtually no English, which makes ordering problematic, unless you speak Mandarin. Parking is always tough. But the Chinese food they make here is pretty good. It's not the best, but it's good. I usually get the General Tso's Shrimp with a side of won ton soup, and while that's nothing exotic, it's a great benchmark to use when comparing other Chinese restaurants. I have been a regular customer here for many years and the food is decent. HOWEVER tonight when I went in there to pick up the food that I ordered, there was a drunk guy who was inches away from me saying all sorts of lewd and threatening comments. The person at the window would not run my card because she was busy on the phone taking another order. I kept asking her to please give me my food and she did not even look up at all the whole time. When I went out to my car after I finally got the food the guy followed me and I knew he was going to so I quickly got in my car and locked it. I was just about to call the police when he took off through an alley. After he was gone I went back in and told her about it and she feels that sorry was enough. Once I got home, my daughter went up there and told them they should've called the police and paid attention when that was going on because the woman admitted that that guy comes in there all the time and she tells him not to. Meantime now we're banned from going in there because my daughter told them off which is crazy because she should've called the cops when the guy was harassing me instead of worrying about making an extra buck especially on a regular customer. Dissapointed. Our food came out looking pretty good-- vibrant colors in the veggies, visually appealing mix of ingredients-- but I'm afraid that my wife and I couldn't stomach the overcooked entrees (both of which featured chicken so overcooked that it turned rubbery-hard); additionally, the appetizers were underwhelming, and judging by the rest of the reviews here, I don't think they having an off night... it's just how they do things. The quality of our food yesterday was a real improvement to past pickups. Each of our items was tasty and well cooked. We got three combos mongolian beef (lots and lots of onions and little beef but the beef was very good), general tsos chicken (good), and beef with broccoli (they got this wrong in the bag - we got happy family by mistake which was really good) . We also got one order of bourbon chicken for the kids which had almost no sauce but the kids enjoyed so that's good. Lots of egg rolls in the bag. I think they give free ones for larger orders. The order was a pleasant surprise since we've had some orders that weren't great in the past. Best piece of advice - avoid items that could have a lot of filler (like celery or onion) because they do. read more

The outside looks a little dingy and you might not expect good food when you see the small and haphazard interior but the food is consistently good and they are quick and reasonably priced. I always order for pick up and I've liked just about everything I've tried and we've been visiting this place for at least 10 years. The only dish I wouldn't recommend is the cashew chicken, which I have found to be rather bland and soupy on more than one occasion but otherwise it's a good place for classic Chinese staples. read more

Unprepossessing takeout joint with a couple of plastic folding tables on what looks like a construction site at the down-at-the-heels corner of Piney Branch and Flower, but: - Good steamed dumplings (with very tasty dipping sauce and a sprinkle of fresh scallions), - OK bbq spareribs (a little dry, but not overly sweet like many places), and - Best/most surprising: the roast duck. Pretty, lacquered-looking, well-rendered skin, very moist and tender meat. (The skin isn't crispy like Peking Duck, but it's not too greasy as duck can be. (I asked the server which duck dish she liked best and she recommended it.) I got completely spoiled living in Bethesda for ages (where the North China's Taiwanese menu blew me away), but this is a nice find when I need a dumpling fix. read more

I'm surprised this place has only 1 review and 1 star. It's always so busy. Beijing Delight... blah. Their chicken fried rice is one of THE BEST chicken fried rice dishes I have ever had. It's a little dry, but nothing a drop of olive oil can't fix. Dog meat? Yeah right, if dog meat tasted like the food of the gods. They have a special of fried chicken wings and fried rice that's like, $5, which is pretty tasty the first few times around. My husband and I order it at least once a week, though, and it's become boring to my palette. Besides, the fried rice is plain - still good, but it really needs a meat to be good because it's so damned dry. We recently tried the pork fried rice, which was also quite delicious. Hmm. Everything else that I've ever had from there is well below average. They should just stick to fried rice and chicken wings. read more

Well after coming here a number of times I will admit that I like their food. I live right down the street so it great to just go and get my weekly fixin of Chinese food. I have tried their sesame chicken, general tso chicken, and combo fried rice. All were pretty good and much better than the easterns spot further up the road on piney branch. Plus they are quicker in getting your order, and less rude when taking your order. It's not the best take out I've had, not definitely not the worst. Pretty decent for me.
