I just moved to the area and of course the first thing you should do after finding a good pizza place (Squisito's!) is find a good Chinese place. Szechuan No.1 is pretty darn good as Chinese delivery goes. They arrived exactly when they said they would, the food was piping hot, and REALLY well presented for delivery Chinese. I mean just look at the photos. The price is right (19.02 for General Tso's Chicken and Sesame Chicken Dinner Combos), the food is tasty (though I thought the egg rolls could've gone in the fryer just a litttttle longer), and what else could you really ask for? If I had to nitpick tho, I'd say it's frustrating that they don't seem to have any website, so I had to call instead of order online, the menu on Yelp is several years old so I don't know if it's accurate, and they didn't provide a menu in their delivery bag, so I can't keep it on the fridge for the future. Next time I order I'll go pick it up so I can get a fresh menu. read more

Had the shrimp egg foo young, & orange chicken (lunch specials). The day that I went the egg foo young was burnt, the orange chicken was good, just wasn't too much of it. This is my usual spot for Chinese - it's convenient, inexpensive , they delivery without having to go through other delivery methods, on time, food is fresh, & yea the lady talks nasty to people but I have not had an issue with her. This place is down the street from my grandmas house. I personally didn't get any food from here, but my sister and her fiancé did. My sister got wings with Mumbo sauce and fried rice. I got one of her wings and some Mumbo sauce. No Good No Good..... the wings were hard as a rock, the sauce was just that.....sauce, not Mumbo sauce though. My sister gave me her leftover fried rice, which I took home to eat later, well it's later . You know that fried rice that look so good when someone eating Chinese food out the container on tv, well this is that fried rice, and I did just that. This is the place my boyfriend and I go when we want something quick, cheap, and good. He always gets general tso's chicken and I always get the crispy chicken with spicy salt and pepper. I was on the hunt for salt and pepper shrimp (without head and shell) that doesn't cost a fortune. This is the place!! I got that and an order of the shrimp spring rolls. The salt and pepper shrimp was so good! You can tell they freshly prepared it with a good kick to it. I asked it to be spicy, so there was a good amount of pepper & jalapeño, which was perfect. The shrimp spring rolls were okay, nothing to write home about. Also, the lady who works there is so sweet. It's the typical takeout Chinese place: pictures of the food on the walls, two tables if you're crazy enough to dine in, drink cooler in front of the counter. Their egg rolls are short and chubby compared to most. The one extraordinary thing is they have whole roasted duck on the menu. I'm going to have to try it sometime. I had the pork fried rice. This is the second time I've ordered and eaten from this Chinese takeout place. The food isn't great but it's not bad. I'm conflicted in my review because honestly it's nothing memorable. I had the vegetable egg foo young with brown gravy and white rice. The egg foo young was a little over cooked and thin. I know the price of eggs is soaring in this economy but you could have sprung for one more egg! We also had the broccoli and rice but my palate rejected the sauce that it was cooked in so I could only taste one bite. I think I'm going to try a few other places before I return to this location. Pros the food is consistent and has some decent flavor. Cons the food takes forever to cook. I've never seen Chinese food take 25 minutes to cook but maybe they cook everything from scratch. I can't see thier cooking process which also bothers me because 9/10 I can see the people cooking at these establishments and I feel more secure in my decision to eat from Chinese restaurants. read more

First time to order, it's your pretty standard amerinese fair. Anything you'd expect them to have, they'll have. We split some kung pao chicken and crab rangoons. How surprised were we? Very! Delivery was really fast (but they're only 4-5 mins from where we lived), everything was piping hot, the delivery man was very sweet and the food was yummy! The rangoon wasn't really greasy, and the kung pao was just spicy enough. I actually recommend their orange chicken. So delicious, and HUGE pieces of chicken. I used to be skeptical about this place because the actual store sat near the back of the parking lot BUT now I order from this place all the time! These are the most respectful individuals I've come across as far as ordering take out. Most of their food is great - however, I would not recommend the crab rangoons or the chicken curry (the curry was like a watery brown paste and it tasted horrible). They were better with the sweet & sour sauce. The general tso shrimp was okay. The shrimp were fried sweet & sour style, which I don't like with tso. The sauce was too salty like soy sauce, not sweet enough. It was a good level of spice, though. Honestly, I've gotten takeout from Panda and Yo-Yo cafe and they weren't great either. This has been our go to spot for Chinese take out for over a decade. The food is so consistently tasty! My friends and I used to walk over after school and grab our afternoon meals here, or even have it delivered to Paint Branch! Their delivery is so fast without having any dips in quality. They have all the take out staples and when you're craving classic Americanized-Chinese food, this place really hits the spot. And the people who run this place are so nice, and their chefs are great. This is my go-to take out Chinese place. They're very fast both for take-out and delivery. Granted, I've eaten at better Chinese restaurants, but for the quality, price, and efficiency, you can't go wrong here. I have my regular dishes which I order, and whenever I call, she already knows who I am. Kind of like each time Norm walked into Cheers, the bar, everyone knew who he was... yeah, order a few times here, and they'll know your name - or at least recognize your face. My regular dishes are the sweet and sour chicken, the spicy green beans, and the tofu mixed vegetables. The chicken is perfect (crispy outside/tender inside) with a delicious sauce that is the perfect mix of sweet and sour (duh). Well, we've all been to places where the sweet and sour ends up being either too sweet or too sour; Szechuan 1 has the perfect balance. The spicy green beans could be a bit spicier, but for those of us who prefer milder levels of spicyness, this one works just fine; but I"m sure you can request it to be extra spicy if you wish. The tofu mixed vegetables has more vegetables than tofu - which works for me; the vegetables are fresh and there's a good variety of them in the dish: broccoli, cabbage, carrots, peppers.
