This is my first time ordering take-out from Beijing Tokyo restaurant. I ordered the Hot & Sour soup and General Tsa's Chicken. The soup was reasonable; but more hot than sour. So it gets 4 stars for the sushi,tea and crab Rangoon. My husband got the jalapeño roll and loved it. My daughter got the moonlight roll and loved it. I got the "chef special" crispy eggplant with spicy red garlic sauce. SO disgusting. It was smallish pieces of very bland eggplant heavily battered covered in a thick gelatinous sweet sauce that wasn't spicy at all. To add insult to injury the sauce was cold and dumped on top of the hot eggplant. Also got the chicken yakitori. Same thing. Very bland chicken with a gelatinous cold teriyaki type sauce dumped on top. Like the eggplant sauce it was disgustingly sweet. Bottom line is this is one of those restaurants where you have to be careful what you order. You can either get amazing food or barely edible. I will be back for sushi and the Rangoon. read more

Terrible experience. We ordered online and what we received was disgusting and definitely not worth what they are charging. We used a coupon to get a free California roll with a $25 purchase and our purchase was well over $25 and it was not free. So basically we spent $45 on the only good thing a sushi roll that was supposed to be free!!!!! Will never eat here again highly upset. EDIT: ALSO I found bone in my chicken and when I called management I was told to send a picture proving its bone and they even agreed it is bone and offered to give me 2 spring rolls!!! Sadly last nights meal was barely a two. I ordered delivery for 830pm. It showed up at 730 pm. They did call to tell me it was on its way and they made the mistake of sending it early. Was trying to time it right for wife to have fresh for dinner after work. Strike one. Strike two was that my Chicken Terriyaki was as rough as shoe leather. Sauce was off too. Strike three wife's sesame chicken was tough as leather as well. We've ordered from here pre covid and post covid. Never any problems. Food always good. Wow... Is all I can say about the food here. We needed to do some grocery shopping on a snowy Sunday and my girl spied this place. She said she could go for some soup. Not surprising (due to the snow) we were the only patrons in the place. My girl ordered some Saki and lemonade for me. Soon after, we ordered Wonton soup, with a variety of appetizers consisting of shrimp toast, crab Rangoon, BBQ spare ribs and I ordered a 2-piece order of Sushi - Unagi (eel). Everything was so fresh and delicious. The crab Rangoon was probably the best I have ever eaten. Instead of being overly crunchy, it was soft and melted in my mouth (in the center) with a slight crunch on the edges. PERFECT! Chinese, Japanese and little Thai... this Asian Fusion spot is not to be missed. We will, without a doubt, be back for the amazing food. read more

Today's delivery was pretty awful. You can see a picture of one of our rolls sitting in liquid (?)! I have no idea what that liquid was, but the sushi itself tasted bad. I told my boyfriend not to eat it. When rolls have a cucumber wrap, you can expect to sacrifice the cohesive wrapping, but this one fell completely apart. The other roll we ordered was wrapped in soy paper and I had to pick it up with my hands also because the chopsticks would tear right through. Again, flavor off, bland and boring. The potstickers were the size of a quarter. They were ok but the size was cute in a bad way. i.e. did this come from my first easy bake oven. The crab and avocado salad was very tasty and I wish I had more of that to replace the other items. Also the tuna and salmon maki were tender and fresh. The individual rolls have been better than the speciality rolls now that I think back, but even then, the tuna last time was tougher and chewy. I'm not sure how this spot was so good and then fell from its pedestal so roughly, but I think Dukwo is more consistent in quality as well as value. I spent almost $60 today (for 2) and ate less than half of it. read more

I really wanted to come here after trying some of my boyfriend's yummy leftover crispy chicken. He had dined here on another occasion and recommended this place. I rarely crave Chinese food, but those late-night leftovers seriously won me over. They just opened 2 weeks ago and have been offering 20% off everything for their launch. Perfect opportunity to stuff my face! The first thing I noticed was the restaurant's setup. It's small but very spacious and clean; decor, simple but modern. The next thing I noticed and was most excited about was the menu - my eyes zoned in on "SUSHI." Well, duh, this place is a Chinese AND Japanese restaurant so of course they're going to have sushi and sashimi! But they also have bento, udon, soba noodles, teriyaki, tempura, and hibachi specials. It seems like their menu is substantial enough to accommodate different tastes, but not so large that they wouldn't be able to perfect their dishes. I loved the Chicken Hunan Style and both the Szechuan Crispy Beef and Chicken. The bf mentioned that everything tastes 'homemade.' And it does! The dishes have a home-cooked quality to it that tastes fresh, not like your typical Chinese-American take-out with it's overcooked broccoli and heaps and heaps of syrupy sauce. The baby corn, mushrooms, and broccoli in our Chicken Hunan Style were flawlessly cooked... the broccoli still had a lot of crunch to it. The sauce was perfect - a tiny bit spicy, a little sweet, and tasted clean, not overly syrupy (if that makes sense). The chicken was tender, not dry at all. The Crispy Beef and the Crispy Chicken are both awesome. The shredded meat have a light crunchy breading and sweet and savory sauce. Mmm mm mmm! The Dancing Eel Roll (eel, avocado, crab, cucumber) wasn't the prettiest, but the taste and texture were really good. But I think they mistakenly served us only 5 pieces instead of 8. The menu says 8 which makes more sense at a price tag of $12.95 but it was something I didn't catch at the time. I assume this was nothing more than an innocent fluke as a lot of their other rolls come with 5 pieces. I do want to come back and try more of their specialty rolls and maybe their chirashi or sashimi platters. Service was excellent. The people here are very kind and accommodating. The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is because this review is based on just one experience at a very new restaurant, and I didn't get to explore the menu as much as I'd like either. I will definitely be back as I think I've found my favorite Chinese restaurant, and the convenience of having fresh sushi & sashimi is an added bonus! This place is brand new in Burke area. I give it a try last night with my boyfriend and I was amazed by the food. I thought it was just a simple take out restaurant but you actually can dine in. The place looks amazing with the updated designs and seatings. I like their plates design. The surface was okay but since it is still grand opening, they have 20% off now so give it a try. the food quality isn't bad for a small restaurant. I ordered a General Tso's chicken and the flavor wasn't too strong, therefore it is good with white rice. I like the food portion was big enough to share with a partner or with a friend. I will definitely go back to try other dishes to see if they will maintain good quality throughout their business not just couple weeks of grand opening. read more

We stopped in for a quick lunch on a late Saturday afternoon. They had one server who was working about 4 tables. He was working hard to take our order, serve waters and help other customers. We didn't have silverware and had to wait for that. Food came out promptly. I ordered the hibachi lunch special which was cooked up fresh. The steak was tender and the veggies were crispy and fresh. I've been to various Chinese,Japanese, Korean restaurants where I often order sushi but always go back to Beijing Tokyo. Not only the ambience is great but their sushi~~delicious overload!!! Hands down especially for their volcano roll , dragon roll and shrimp tempura roll. Everything is fresh and tasty! Also tried their hibachi chicken with fried rice for lunch today and might as well say it was the bomb dot com. I have passed by this place time and time again and never but never made it in. So one evening when the rest of the family was out if town, why not? I had the Gyoza and General Tso Chicken. And I must say that was the best dumpling I have ever tasted!! Unlike a lot of places, they were moist, fresh, and the dipping sauce was awesome, soy based but not salty with spring onions and sesame oil. The General's Chicken was all white meat, tender and yummy. It had a great blend of ginger, garlic, chili paste, and leaves a nice tingle of heat in the back of your throat. Of course next time I am going to ask for it a little hotter. The staff are all super nice as well. The owners get the good out fast, are very talkative with the guests. This is our go to sushi and Chinese food. Even tough we have moved out of the neighborhood, we continue to come here. It never disappoints.

After calling several Japanese restaurants to see if we could get a hibachi table for only 3 because one of us has a fatal onion allergy, none would guarantee no cross contamination.  We called Beijing Tokyo.  The woman guaranteed no onions!  She said they would clean the grill, so we went.  It was excellent.  We had hibachi chicken and steak, chicken teriyaki, vegetable tempura, a salad, egg roll and egg drop soup.  Miso soup came with our dinners.  I don't usually like miso soup, but I drank every drop of it!  We finished the leftovers the next day and it was so good.  There were no onions!  The woman even knew that scallions are part of the onion family, which a lot of restaurants don't know, and she said "no scallions in your miso soup."  The salad was very fresh.  We live in Burke and have not ever been there.  We can't wait to go there again!  Thanks Beijing Tokyo for preparing such a delicious meal onion free, as well as providing fast and friendly service! read more

Just tried out this place tonight and we have found our new favorite Chinese food. It was GREAT food! Everything was fast, fresh and tasted amazing. I had some great stir-fry and my husband loved the sushi. My 5 year old devoured the fried rice. What especially stood is that our three year was being crabby and one of the women there made her a special little "sushi" roll (rice wrapped in seaweed paper), and amazingly it cheered my daughter right up and she went on to enjoy her dinner. Especially when restaurants are trying to get kids out of their places, for someone to take a moment (even though we said that she didn't have to) really stands out for me. Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed. The servers are still figuring out the menu, but it's a pretty big one so I'm not going to take away a star for that because this place impressed me that much. read more

I know Christmas Day is a busy occasion for restaurants but the experience we had was beyond awful. We ordered 5 soups, which were forgotten until after they brought our entrees - but not any plates. Our entrees were already sitting on the counter before being brought to the table so by the time we got them and got plates to eat from they were cold! They also brought us the wrong entree (chicken instead of beef). We asked for more napkins which were also never brought. The kicker was the rude woman who seemed to be running the place. When I told her that the experience was subpar, she told me "you are lucky to have a table, we are busy, MOST PEOPLE UNDERSTAND". I would attribute it to her poor English as well, but being rude to guests is NOT OK. The food was mediocre but the service was what gives this place the 1 star. read more

This restaurant does not know customer service - I ordered thru postmates & my order had shellfish in it which I did not order and they wouldnt fix it- they told me when calling "my" delivery guy from postmates was rude - I went over myself after calling to see if they would remake it- still wouldnt make it right. Also not to mention I could have been hospitalized and they weren't remotely sympathetic- you can see her in my photo pointing at me ! My go-to Chinese restaurant in my area. Portions are huge with plenty of meat and fresh (not soggy/wilty!) vegetables. We've had a good variety of their dishes, and have yet to be disappointed. I'm pretty picky with my egg rolls, but they are crispy with plenty of fillings inside, and not too salty. Spending a certain amount of money on their online ordering system usually yields free goodies, like a roll of sushi, egg rolls, or even a full order of fried rice with any meat. Can't beat that. My husband and I get our Beijing Tokyo to go, but the restaurant itself always looks sparkling clean, and the design is modern and fresh. Don't let the plain, strip-mall facade fool you. Love being able to walk to get sushi and Chinese food in Burke. This restaurant is beautifully outfitted for intimate dining. I love their sushi. The rice is perfectly chewy and seasoned, the fish is fresh, and presentation is attractive. The entrees are large enough to share for two people or to eat and take home for leftovers. My daughter wanted sushi and I was hesitant as I have not been able to find a really good sushi place that I really like in the area. I trusted Yelp as the reviews for this place were really high. The couple not so good reviews were in reference to the time it takes to prepare the food however nothing negative about the food. Bad experience all our orders are mess. We order pork fried rice, the rice looks a steam rice they just add pork soy sauce and whatever in the fried rice we order egg drop soup big. But when I open it's not in there plus the dumplings without sauce ‍ and the chow mein is too thick and dry taste like a sh*t. Egg fo young is taste not right, we tossed everything. One of my top two places to order Chinese food from in Burke. They have really good egg drop and wonton soup. Also really like their beef chow fun. They give you freebies for ordering over $20, so we typically get free spring rolls. Food always comes hot and fresh.
