I mentioned to a friend that Burke seems like a Chinese Food Desert with lack of good choices and he suggested China Town. Many reviews say the delivery is Terrible hence their low ratings. I thus chose to order carry out putting in my order at 6:30 and driving there and it was ready by 6:50. I ordered the Drunken Noodles which came spicy and full of beef as they should be. This little take-out place is just a quick drive from our home. We've done take-out numerous times. I wanted to give them a shout-out for their awesome food and great service. On a day when all of DC/NOVA appears to be shut down, this little Chinese restaurant answered their phone and was open for pick up orders. We quickly ordered several items to tide us over for this snow-mageddon type of day. The Kung Pao dishes were the tastiest I have eaten in this area. They do dinner portions, which are very large. We tried the lunch portions today and they were a good size for a minor cost of $7. You get your choice of white or fried rice and an egg roll. We also ordered their appetizer donuts, and they give 10 pieces. All the food was hot and packaged very well. There are 2 entries for China Town Restaurant, but this 2 name one seems to match the menu. I stopped in to pick up to-go soups and egg rolls, after we gorged on Spartan's Gyros. Since we had to stock and store up for Snowmageddon 2015, the idea of hot Chinese soup was perfect. The place is a no frills take-out restaurant with 3 tables if you chose to dine-in. The soups and egg rolls were ready in 15 minutes. They were piping hot and the containers were filled to the top. I took a quick sip of each one, and they were very flavorful. They came with bags of those yummy addicting crunchy won tons. Pricing was very reasonable. The soups were made fresh, not sitting out for reheat. I appreciate that freshness. I notice they have online ordering and delivery. With my favorite location closed for remodeling, I may have to give this place some future business. read more

I ordered using the Yelp ordering service. I will say I was disappointed that the specials were not offered ordering using this service. I continued to order because I had a 5.00 off coupon but in hindsight I would have just called and ordered and got the specials. This is the reason for -1 star. The food was really good. I ordered a combination fried rice. There wasn't a lot of beef or shrimp but it was tasty even reheated. (They have a 4.5/5 rating & way more reviews on GrubHub if you're curious & Delivery Fee is the same.) I received a confirmation email at 8:28PM; the expected delivery time was 45-60 mins. It arrived super hot & delicious at 9PM. Spring Rolls & Crab Rangoon (4/5): Expected it to be mediocre & was pleasantly surprised. Spring rolls were mainly cabbage, as one would expect. Typical cream cheese & imitation crab meat filling in the crab rangoon, but it was a little sweet & was good w/o any sauce. Combination Lo Mein (5/5): Noodles were chewy & the pieces of protein were bigger than the baby shrimp & tiny slivers I've come to expect. Kung Pao Chicken (5/5): Flavorful but not saucy, just like it's supposed to be prepared. Peanuts & celery were crisp. They also have a Kung Pao Combo for like $1 or so more, def want to try that next time. *Note: I love spicy food, but ordered this "Medium" spicy to be safe & found it to be pretty mild. Lately, I've been on a Chinese food kick. I'm talking about the cheap take out variety, the kind that raises your glucose levels to ridiculous highs, and puts you into instant coma. I tried the orange chicken, the combination fried rice, and the crab rangoon. The crab rangoon were ok. Not as sweet as I would have liked. The combination fried rice was good, decent amount of meat and not super greasy. The orange chicken was really dry. Not only was the sauce dry, the chicken itself was really dry as well. Overall, the place is ok. They have decent lunch and dinner plate combos. However, they don't have shrimp toast, which is a negative for me. Food coma isn't settling in as fast as I would have liked. I am happy to say that we have found our Chinese take-out/delivery place in Burke. If you'd read my previous review of Tau Tau, you'll understand why we were looking so actively. They have a limited 3-mile radius delivery, but we just fall into it yessss. Food was delivered fast and fresh. And they have these cool 2-person combo plates that come with pork fried rice and 2 eggrolls. My mom and I shared the sesame chicken, which was crispy and delicious. My son had pork lo mein, which had a great flavor and had nice, juicier pieces of pork instead of those pork-like chips you sometimes get. My husband had sweet and sour chicken, which is pretty hard to screw up. He liked it. So next time you think there's only Tau Tau, consider this great option! read more

I used to order from here frequently until the owner changed. That's when the food quality turned bad so I never ordered from there again until today. I was walking by and saw that there was a new management so I went in to see the place is a lot cleaner and had a new look. The prices were okay and I decided to try out their Basil Chicken lunch combo that comes out with fried rice and a eggroll. On top of that, I ordered a small hot and sour soup too. The Basil Chicken should be renamed Onion Chicken. Don't get me wrong, the taste was great it's just that there was a sparse amount of basil and just a whole bunch of onions. It was just...that many onions. I felt like I've been jipped into buying a tray full of sauteed onions instead of basil chicken. The only good thing about it was the freshness and the lack of MSG there was. Now the hot and sour soup....I don't know if it was whether I've had gotten used to the taste of hot and sour soup filled with MSG or not but this hot and sour soup was really HOT and SOUR. The sour taste in the soup was very strong unlike most soups I've tried at different Chinese restaurants. I couldn't tell if this was supposed to be the authentic taste of the soup since Chinatown claims that they are MSG free. I do like that they put in some of my favorite straw mushrooms in there though. Remember I said that I got the basil chicken as a lunch combo? Turns out they didn't even give me that combo. Just the Basil chicken and the soup. No fried rice and egg roll. I didn't mind about the missing fried rice (I got the regular steamed rice), but the missing egg roll kinda peeved me. More like I was peeved since I asked the cashier if the basil chicken was a combo that comes with fried rice and egg roll and she said yes as she was handing my order to me. I was disappointed both times i ordered carryout! I typically get the same 3 dishes when I order Chinese. Either General Tso's Chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken or Sesame Chicken. I have tried all of these at China Town between what I had ordered and what my boyfriend ordered, and I was not impressed. Their crab Rangoon are yummy, however, being they do not make any of my 3 favs to my liking, I had to add them to my "banned list". I recommend Szechuan East. read more

Although for $12.50, the mongolian beef has 8 small strips of beef in it. They put 2 WHOLE onions with them. I will never order from here again. If they are doing rough, go out of business. We ordered from here for the first time last night and we were so pleased! First off- we love the online ordering feature! I was worried about "customizing" my order with the online ordering (ie- I wanted fried rice, not white and sauce on the side) and the online feature allowed me to put in these special requests. The food arrived very promptly and was DELICOUS. We got the spring rolls, general tso shrimp and coconut chicken. We also got a free order of lo mein (a great promotional!) and it was all fantastic. It was a rainy night and we were craving Chinese so we figured we'd give this place a shot for delivery. We got the chicken pad Thai, general Tso's white meat chicken and Mongolian beef. The pad Thai was actually good... we enjoyed it very much. The general tso's was ok... it was more like the sweet and sour type of breaded chicken soaked in that sweet general tso's sauce... the breading wasn't even sticking to the chicken. The big disappointment of the night was that Mongolian beef... they should have called it Mongolian onions... it looked like they had sliced a big white onion, sautéed it with 5-6 slices of green bell pepper and probably 10 little pieces of beef. This was a meal for 3 people so we ended up with 1/3 of an onion on our plate, 2 pieces of green bell pepper and 3 little pieces of beef that barely had any flavor. If I ever get food from here again I'm sticking to the Pad Thai and maybe try other menu items because the general tso's and Mongolian beef were a disappointment. It reminded me of an old dish I used to have at another Chinese place back in Georgia a loooooong time ago. That dish was called the chicken Formosa and it brought back some good memories.
