The Szechuan beef dish had no garlic, ginger, peppers, peppercorns, or chili peppers. It was overwhelmingly julienned Celery and a small amount of carrots, a few slices of onion. No taste. No flavor. No spice or even a whiff of heat. The spring rolls were bland and looked like they were store bought and heated up. Fried rice was bland, with a few frozen veggie carrots/peas. What a huge disappointment. My spouse had Sesame beef- ditto for lack of flavor. I rarely post such negative reviews and can usually find something positive to say. This review is from a long time customer due to not many options in the area. This has always been pretty mediocre but they offer delivery in a 5 mile radius. I was in the shopping center that Dlite is in and wanted to stop in to grab an updated menu since I haven't ordered in a couple months. There is a few seats and a table or two but this is mostly a carry out place. Ordered a few times but be aware there prices are not what they are on the menu and they openly tell you that the menus is not updated. No bueno. Actually believe this could be a violation. Anyways. Ordered last couple times and was in the $45-$50 range all the time. Both times I ORDERED I asked for EXTRA SPICEY MUSTARD. Both times I was delivered 3 small packets which is enough for one person when you order for 4. Thanks. But they do offer more packets of whatever sauce you want for an additional charge! Never again. 50$ worth of food and I have to pay extra for any more than 3 packets of any sauce. Crazy. Maybe a little common sense like if I order one lunch special. Was happy to find lunch specials on a Saturday and tried the combination lo mein and General Tao's chicken. Came with soda or soup and an egg roll. The chicken was fantastic! Some of the best general Tsos I have had. Freshly made and flavorful. I also liked the fried rice. The egg roll was just ok and the wonton soup broth was salty and lacked Flavor. Fried rice is very good, I prefer it a bit salty but that's my personal preference. All in all the food is a bit more on the sweet side. Even the spicy wonton wasn't spicy, not even really salty. Nothing was bad about it so I was going to give 4/5 stars because the taste is personal preference but my fortune cookie didn't have a fortune... and they only gave me one... This restaurant used to be our go to place for "American style" Chinese food, but it has definitely gone down hill over the past several years. I don't know for sure because they cook everything in the back out of view from the customer, but I feel like they used to cook meals to order. Now everything tastes as if it has been cooked in mass quantity, kept warm and then served up buffet style (in the back). I say this because in the past, if you wanted something extra crispy or extra spicy, they would do it for you and it was awesome. Now all the chicken dishes are the same exact soggy chicken with a different sauce squirted on it. All the dishes have just gone down hill. I wouldn't be surprised if they were heating up frozen egg rolls, breaded chicken and crab Rangoon. Nothing seems to be homemade anymore. To compound the situation, their prices have gone up 10-15% every year for the past 5 years. Literally, I have one of their menus from 2020, 2022 and their current one. Their menu is nearly double what it was in early 2020. I get supply chain issues and inflation, but a 90% increase in less than 5 years is absurd, especially with the decline in quality. For nearly the same price, you can get amazing Asian fusion food in another strip mall about a mile away (I'll let you figure out which one but the name rhymes with "fox"). The ambiance is what you would expect for a strip mall. This is clearly not a place designed for dine in eating,.... but you could if so inclined. read more

The fork is so damn flimsy it won't even cut the chicken, they have no knives they can give you. Everything is of the very cheapest quality they can source. It was quick order for carry out. They do deliver within 4 miles. I ordered over the phone, changed my clothes and drove there. It was ready upon arrival. As you can see lots of food for lunch special. The menu price changed but the rest is the same. We ordered lo mein, general tso's chicken and broccoli shrimp lunch special. COVID-19 review: We ordered online and we indicated that we wanted contactless delivery in the comments section during checkout. Food arrived in about an hour and the driver dropped off the food, rang the doorbell, and waited in his car until we picked up the food from our front porch. We ordered Crab Rangoon, and the Orange Chicken meal for 2, which includes the entree, fried rice, 2 egg rolls, and we chose egg drop soup for 2. The meal for 2 cost $25; however, there didn't seem to be a lot of the Orange Chicken to share. It might be more beneficial to order 2 different entrees for $12.50 each. Finally had the chance to make a takeout order that was eaten shortly after without reheating. Sadly, the special is not very special. "The chicken "blossoms" are pieces of white meat that look deepfried before getting stirfried, restulting in stringy rubber. The uneven cuts will have one piece be tender on one end and hard at the other. Stopped after a few pieces as I didn't want to develop the bad habit of spitting into a napkin. The vegetables swim in a dark sauce that leans to the sweeter side. I could have used it to dip the crab rangoons, which are oddly shaped, molar grinders. My wife and I regularly get delivery or takeout from here. The food is reliably some of the best Chinese (and sometimes Thai) in the area, and delivery has never taken longer than 20 mins (we live very close-by). Inexpensive, good variety, always tasty. Interesting story: We went to get carry-out from Szechuan D'Lite tonight, and at pick-up, wondered why the bag was so heavy: My wife had ordered "fried wontons, hot & sour soup" but the nice lady at the counter heard "FIVE wonton, hot & sour..." So we had SIX containers of soup along with the rest of our order. D'oh! Yet, the lady there was very nice, apologized for getting it wrong (though I think we all played a role in the screwup), and ALL had a good laugh over it. Gross. I threw most of the order away. I've been searching for a new Chinese carry out/delivery option as Chopsticks Express seems to have declined over the last 2 years since ownership changed. Hot and sour soup was oily and tasted burnt. Egg drop soup was over thickened and did not have much flavor. Pu Pu platter spring rolls were greasy, but edible. Crab Rangoon was in a thick wonton skin and fried so hard that it was inedible. The spareribs were OK. The chicken kabob was very dark and the meat was spongy --- mystery meat no thank you. I ordered the combo of Heavenly and Peking chicken. The Peking chicken was good, but came with the sauce applied and was soggy when it arrived. The Heavenly chicken used to be beautiful chunks of white meat chicken cut into crowns. Again it was mystery meat. I gaged on the first bite and threw it away. I actually worked for this place as a delivery driver in the 90s when the Tsun family ran it and it was top notch. Sad to see what it has become --- no wonder they push out so many coupons. read more
