I love these donuts! So light and soft and fresh and full of sugar - perfect for my sweet tooth! I've tried almost all of the varieties and never had one I didn't like. I love the filled varieties the most for that extra bit of sweetness. The shop is bright and clean and always well stocked. You can also often catch a glimpse of the donuts being made when you stop in. The women who work there are friendly and always very patient if you take a while to decide what flavors you're getting on that visit. There's seating both inside and outside, and plenty of parking in the lot in front of the store. read more

The Reading Terminal location is always WAY too busy for me so I came to this location instead. My husband and I were the only ones in there which was nice compared to the other location. We got 2 maple bacon donuts, mocha donut, peanut butter creme donut, peppermint stick donut and just a chocolate iced donut. We brought them back to the hotel to have them each morning for breakfast. Beiler's donuts is home to a nice selection of tasty, doughy treats, all of which were fresh and fun. We got a dozen donuts early in the morning when the case was still full, so we had our pick of cream donuts, m&m and chocolate, and peanut butter and jelly, to name a few. My favorite was the peanut butter and jelly, with its peanut butter frosting and a just-right amount of filling. I think it was well-balanced, unlike some of the others which were a bit too sweet without the necessary grease offset. Even though they're homemade, these donuts won't feel like the old fashioned type you'd dip in your coffee. I think these are more the sweet breakfast treat you get when you are brave enough to go into the office on a Monday, or you need your kids to just be quiet for five minutes. Last thing I'll mention is that this isn't a great spot to dine-in, as the biggest table they have is only four seats, and there are only a handful of them. Well - these rank at the very top of my donut list! I went for the first time, and about 12 hours later went back again because I kept thinking about all the flavors I hadn't tried. There is seriously something for everyone, even the pups - I purchased a doggie donut for my sister's dog and even though he had been sick, he loved it. I stick by my thought that donuts do heal all wounds (human and canine!) So, which ones were my favorite? After trying roughly 12 different flavors I will say, I love the salted caramel and the caramel apple equally. The standard vanilla frosting with sprinkles is an easy winner for me. The apple fritter - Yes!! Traditional glazed, yeah, I liked that one too! I'm not a chocolate fan, but the rest of the family is and wow, did they love the chocolate glazed one as well. PB&J, winner. Donut Mention It It's a shame on me for never writing a review for Beiler's Donuts. These donuts are in no uncertain terms life-changing. Being 100% honest, I do not like donuts. I find the flavor to be too blah; the texture is usually not that great, and they're almost always tooth achingly sweet. However, I do have two exceptions to my "all donuts suck" rule, and that is Stan's in Santa Clara, CA, and Beiler's Donuts. Beiler's is an Amish-run business that began in Philly's Reading Terminal Market and has now opened up three other locations, with this Lancaster one being the one we always visit when we're in the area. While the donuts are fantastic, for my money, all I want are their fresh, soft, and fluffy fritters. Apple or blueberry, it really doesn't matter. The Beiler's Donuts apple fritter is fire! My car is parked in the garage by my hotel and I can smell the freshly made doughnuts calling me. I'm with my wife and she wants to bring a half dozen home. Walking in I see not only apple but blueberry fritters?! There is nothing better than enjoying a freshly made doughnut, mmm mm! I ask the person behind the donut case what the filling was on the iced chocolate donut - white filling. Hmm, okay - how about this one, pointing to a different colored iced donut - white filling. I asked this question on four other flavored donuts and received the same response - white filling. They had an amazing variety of different flavors I don't typically see at donut shops. PB&J (always a favorite combo I'll order whenever I see it), Chocolate PB, Key Lime Pie, Caramel Apple, Chocolate M&M, Maple Bacon and of course classics like fritters, glazed, chocolate frosted, etc. These donuts were smaller than other shops but the perfect size for us. Means you can try more before getting full! We ordered a dozen and it came to about $15. Not a bad price for "fancy" donuts. They all are filled right in front of you, so you know you're getting the freshest donut possible. And all the filling were right there in front of you - so cool. So if you're in a bind and you need a "good" donut, Beiler's will deliver. If you want something that's going to rock your world, I'd keep searching. That's the definition of a 4 star place for me. This place is popular, so if you go in the afternoon you will have a lot less selection (which is fine and normal for a bakery but good to keep in mind). I got a half dozen of all different flavors, and they were all excellent. My favorite by far was the salted caramel. If I go again I want to try even more flavors but I think I'd have to get the salted caramel again because it was that good! -1 star because their iced tea is literally bottled Turkey Hill. It tasted like sugar and lemon with a hint of tea, maybe. So disappointing that they probably shouldn't even sell iced tea. Beiler's started out at Reading Terminal Market in Philadelphia 30 years ago and then opened up two more locations--another in Philly and now in Lancaster. However, they recently opened up yet another store in Philly and I was told by the manager that they will be opening one in Maryland. Beiler's pride themselves in serving fresh, hand-rolled Amish donuts made daily. They use a recipe that has been in their family for generations. I asked what their most popular donut was and the young lady working at the counter said their fritters for sure. They offer both Apple and Blueberry. I stopped in to get a few donuts on 11/13/21 after eating lunch nearby. I wanted to see what all the fuss was about with Beiler's Donuts! First, a super sweet smell assaults your senses upon entering. For a Saturday afternoon, selection was fair, but I was shocked at the $1.50 per donut price (now it's 1.60)! OK, I guess that's to be expected for a family-owned place. And they have some unique flavors on offer. The employees were decent. When we got home, we tried our new treats. The Caramel Apple donut was way too sweet and we didn't finish it. The coconut and apple fritter were both good. Overall, we might check it out next time we pass through that part of Lancaster.
