I like it when I can give a restaurant a great review instead of the times when I need to unleash my ire on an unpleasant experience. Instead I would rather profess my love for great food that I truly enjoy! For me while I enjoy many of the various dishes which make up middle eastern food, it is the basics which are still my favorites and which form the basis of any review. By that I mean in this case pita, falafel, hummus and baba ghanouj and perhaps grape leaves. The food comes to the table freshly made. From what I read the pita is made there in the oven and it comes out freshly made - warm, fluffy and is like eating a cloud. You will not find finer pita anywhere else in the valley or Utah! Both the hummus and baba ghanouj have the right consistency and taste. The falafel is light, crispy, and tasty. I have been to many of the other Greek and Lebanese places around and if this is what I want then This Is The Place to come for it! The grape leaves were a little different than what I have had elsewhere but were delicious. I will look forward to trying other things on the menu! It's very roomy inside with high ceilings so ventilation seems good and I don't worry about eating inside here. And to the guy (and people (food snobs) like him) who don't like the food here saying it is not like what they get in California, well I got news for you pal! Middle eastern food does not come from California! Yumm! First time trying Lebanese food, and I'm a fan! I ordered the gyro and the spinach and cheese flatbread. I thought both were quite good! The pita is different than a Greek gyro place, it's thinner, but I liked it! The flat bread was cheesy goodness. I would definitely go back to try some of the other dishes. read more

Beirut Cafe has fantastic food! They are fairly new and I thought their food was really great. They are still getting the hangs of things so it might be a long wait depending on when go. But once they bring you that food it is all bliss, their meats are so fresh and flavorful that you will regret not ordering everything on the menu. I ordered the mix grill so I had a little of everything, including Lamb, Chicken, and Beef. Knowing now with the new information that I have, I would for sure order lamb every single time I visit. Tangy garlic dip. Half Lebanese food. Half Farr's ice cream. During my quiet mid-afternoon visit, half of 10 tables weren't cleaned between diners. Nor had used dishes been collected from trash stand. All of these are fairly easy fixes for a new eatery. We'll see during a return visit to try falafel. read more

I stopped by here on a whim after completing an errand in the area. I got the chicken shawarma and a side of baba ghanoush. The dip was smokey and delicious. If it hadn't been so great, I might have given this place 3 stars instead of four. The shawarma was dry and not very flavorful, but by no means inedible. The waitress suggested a different chicken dish, and despite being underwhelmed, I would go back and try it if I'm in the area again. read more

We had a great experience here this evening. The place nice and laid back but the food was super tasty. Had a chance to chat with the owner and he was very nice and hospitable. I had the mixed grill and even though I am not a fan of lamb in general, I was pleased. Their lamb was tasty and tender, the chicken was juicy and the beef kabob was flavorful. We started with the mixed appetizer which was delicious. I really liked how crips on the outside but not overly dry inside falafels. Their hummus is amazing! Grape leaves were very tasty as well. Sorry but this does not match up with places I've had in California. The reviews are very misleading. Beware.

Utah has a lot of decent Greek options, but I was never impressed by many middle eastern options. It is extremely difficult to find authentic shawarma and garlic sauce. This place nails it and does it with quality and quantity. The food tasted fresh and full of flavor. I will be back to try the other options, but so far it's great! read more

We came back to try the food after a great experience having ice cream while exploring the city. We've never had Lebanese food before and aren't big fans of Greek food (similarly named items) so we were slightly hesitant but still excited. We were not disappointed. The food was fantastic. The people were friendly. It was a beautiful evening and we sat on the patio due to COVID concerns and it couldn't have been better. We got to watch the bread being baked in the oven behind the counter and then eat it. I loved it. The rice had a pleasant fragrance and taste and was not sticky at all. The meat was dry, but cut into small pieces, so I would prefer that to moist without a crust on it. We will definitely be returning. read more

Yum! I miss this kind of food. I usually have to go to San Diego to get my fix but this is pretty close. I highly recommend the mixed grill so you can get a little of everything. The baba ganoosh is so creamy and the bread is soft and fresh. My favorite is the Kafta. I highly recommend it! If I had one piece of criticism it would be that everything needs a little more salt. We haven't tried Farr yet, but the food at Beirut is delicious. We had the veggie combo , a great plate to try a few apps, I had the beef shawarma and my bf had the roasted chicken entree. I am in love. I've lived in the neighborhood for more than a decade, and the Sunburst 66 convenience store and service station have always been a staple. When the service station moved and the remodeling began, I couldn't imagine what would come. And Viola! The Beirut Cafe. The space has been renovated in such a clever and charming way. Yes, we now have a neighborhood diner here in this corner of Murray, and I see our neighbors walking there with us and eating there too. It's made us more of a community. That alone would be plenty But then, there's more; there's the food! It's wonderful! So nice to have well prepared, ethnic cuisine here. The hummus is so good, as is the falafel. As noted by others, the falafel have that perfect crispy outside and moist inside with great tahini sauce. For me, though, the chicken shawarma with the toum are the winners! Luscious! Someone else commented somewhat negatively on the "garlic spread." Come on, it's toum; of course it's garlicky, that's what toum is! It is so good, it has me wanting more. Oh, and did I mention the tabouleh? It too is wonderful; perfect seasoning and not too lemony or oily. And finally, there's the ice-cream side of the cafe. Not Lebanese, but who doesn't need ice cream?! And with 32 hard-pack flavors and about 10 soft-serve options, it's going to make everyone happy! I haven't had black licorice ice cream in ages! Praise Jesus, the days of disappointing food delivery are over! I'm going to try my best to convey just how delicious this place is, though I am still in a slight food coma. I ordered the falafel wrap add pickles inside, hummus, eggplant dip and French fries. I am BIG on sauces and usually ask for one of each. I'm telling you the thick white sauce - I think it's garlic - is to die for! I wanted to stop but couldn't. The flavor is amazing, especially dipping fries. The tahini is good too as well as the tatziki. All of it was so fresh. The hummus was smooth and perfect flavor. Also the eggplant dip - which usually not a fan of from other places - was delightful and flavorful but not overbearing. And I have to give a shout out to the people running this place. They called to make sure what sauces I wanted and to let me know what the cost would be for extra, which I really appreciate because that's a major letdown when food comes and sauces are missing. I know they read the comments sections, a, because they called, b, they added the pickles to wrap and, c, they did not include plastic ware as I unchecked the box on grub hub app. They did a phenomenal job and the food was fabulous! What a sweet find this restaurant was. Drove past this restaurant a few times in the last few weeks and finally decided to stop in. The staff/owners were extremely friendly and I found myself at home right away. We started with the spinach and cheese pie, which was much larger than we expected compared to the price and it was delicious. Incredibly creamy and equally seasoned it was well worth the order. For my main entree, I ordered the mixed grill plate. It came with lamb/chicken skewers and tasted phenomenal. The chicken was not only well seasoned but perfectly cooked allowing the outside to be crispy, yet the inside to be very tender and moist. The lamb was incredibly tender and rivetted my taste buds. I found the rice to be a little under seasoned and dry, but the flavorful meats and hummus made up for it. My roommate ordered the beef shawarma plate which was fantastic. Both plates were served with complimentary pita bread as well. We finished our meal with the cheese kunafa; one of the most interesting desserts I've ever had. /Mad with rose and orange blossom water the dessert was from another world. Creamy yet crunchy due to the pistachios and the rosewater gives it it's very unique and amazing taste. Overall the experience here was great. Service was phenomenal, I felt like I was part of the family. I would love to see better plating of the food to add the extra wow factor. The fact that there is an ice cream shop also operating in the location drew away from the vibe a bit, but sitting outside rather than inside provides a much nicer ambiance. The food isn't incredibly unique, but it's tasty and for that, I believe it deserves 4 stars. read more

I am extremely bothered by the lack of mask wearing by the staff. 3 out of 5 staff members did not even have a mask. 2 out of the 5 had them on, but were around their chins... the two that had masks were in the kitchen preparing food. There is a mask mandate in Salt Lake County. This is unacceptable. read more
