I asked for water, but she gave us a bottle of water instead - which I found out later was $4! It wasn't a fancy brand of water either. I would have appreciated a heads up that there was a cost for water, especially since tap water is usually provided for free at most restaurants. Double check your bill. I didn't make any complaints because the employees seem not to speak English well and it's hard to be a foreigner trying to adapt to the culture and the language. On my last trip- $43 for an empanada, tequeńos and a patacon just doesn't sound right for Venezuelan food, and I come from living in Miami where restaurants are supposed to be more expensive. Add a tip and you're paying over $50 for street food. That's wild.
