Yes, 2 whole stars. You know when you see someone that looks really nice and you go, "oh wow", but then you get to know them and you're like "oh, cringe"? Yes, cringe. [[HIGHLIGHT]]See, the place looks great, the food looks great, the service is great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But the food just isn't. And, pay attention now: there is hardly any food. And it is way, way overpriced. Example 1: Wagyu Shawarma. First, it's not shawarma, it's a kebab. A teeny weeny kebab. Second, there are four tiny pieces of meat. It's barely an appetizer. It's a tapas for 1. You could easily eat 4 servings of this. But it's $32. And it's just not that tasty. Kind of tough and fatty, actually. Example 2: Shish Barak. There are 5 dumplings. They are tough. They have a fingernail of lamb each. The sauce is grainy. And dull. It's barely an appetizer. It's a tapas for 1. But it's $42. Forty-Two Dollars. Plus tax and tip means $55 out of your pocket for a dull appetizer. We had two cocktails and $12 bottle of Evian. And walked out with a bill over $175. BUT WE WERE STILL HUNGRY. Down the street we had smashburgers and fries for DINNER - now those were really good. You can tell I'm still salty. Now you can go somewhere better. read more

I loved this place and hope to be back soon! This is a real gem in the west loop. I feel that it gets overlooked by some of the trendier names, but the food is really exceptional. The miatake hummus is truly a must-order. It's a step above any hummus I've had before. The pita they serve it with is also delicious (and buttery!). The mussels were also a highlight, but a warning - they are SPICY! This wasn't obvious from the menu, and we were surprised upon our first bites. Thankfully our party loves spicy food so this worked for us. The mussels were truly cooked to perfection. The scallops were well cooked but over salted. It was difficult to discern much of the flavor over the salt. This was a bit of a bummer because texturally they were perfectly done. I'd skip the wagyu kebab - for $28 it was maybe 2.5 bites of meet. It's served wrapped around a huge stick, which really just over emphasized the paltry serving size. The chicken farouj was hit or miss. Parts of it seemed overcooked and very dry, while other bits were lovely. Overall this was just an uneven dish. The dessert was unfortunately forgettable. Beity offers a delicious taste of Lebanese cuisine. We started with the hummus, pita bread, and fattoush salad. The hummus was perfectly creamy, and the pita was hot and fresh. We ordered the sea bass entrée with a side of rice. The sea bass was submerged in a delicious sauce that complemented it perfectly. We were recommended the Samke Harra, which was sea bass for the night. The fish was perfectly cooked and enveloped in a delicious Aleppo sauce. The rice that accompanied the dish was okay but it distracted from the main course, as it had a confusing amount of layers. The cashews provided a nice crunch, but the caramelized onions and raisins made the rice almost too sweet. We ended our meal with the chamomile pudding. It was both aesthetic and delightful. My friend and I have been talking about trying this place for a long time, and we are SO happy we did. There were a total of four courses, and each course had multiple dishes packed with flavor. I absolutely loved the sourdough pita, falafel, muhammara, and chicken farouj. The combination of spices and flavors made everything incredibly delicious. Birdie and the rest of the staff were very attentive throughout the meal. The timing of the courses flowed perfectly, and they even wiped down our table from time to time and replaced our plates and utensils between courses. We also had the Laban cocktail, which was a very pleasant mix of smoky Mezcal and refreshing charred lemon with goat yogurt. We ended our meal with a surprise dessert, a strawberry rhubarb olive oil cake, since we were both celebrating our birthdays. That's typically what you'd expect to pay for a high-end steak. The chicken was good, but definitely not amazing. The labneh balls were overly smoky for my taste. The hummus was good, but the portion was extremely small for the price -- it's hard not to question how much it really costs to blend chickpeas. What really pushed this into frustrating territory were the fees: an automatic 20% gratuity regardless of party size, plus an additional 4% "employee wellness" fee -- which is then taxed. As someone who has lived in Lebanon for several years, I'm always chasing that authentic Lebanese flavor. When I heard about Beity, I had to check it out. Food wise, the kafta hummus was the star of the night, hands down one of the best hummus dishes I've had in the U.S. The cheese zaatar, on the other hand, tasted more like a cheese pizza and didn't really work for me. For mains, the fish was fantastic with unique flavors that stood out, but the lamb chops were a big letdown, they arrived almost cold, dry, and lacking in juiciness. Definitely something I'd avoid ordering again. The spreads at the start are excellent, and the coffee dessert is a must try. Overall though, the experience was mixed. This isn't the same as what you'd get in Lebanon, it's more of a refined, upscale take on it. With prices on the high side, I'm not entirely sure the overall meal justifies the cost. I stumbled across this place as I was walking down Fulton Market. This is a hidden gem with extremely high quality food and drinks. The service is very good and the bar staff will make you anything you want but I recommend sticking with the cocktail menu as they are artfully made and taste even better. We ended up at Biety on Valentine's Day, and it's a long story. I thought I was able to find a reservation at this place through an app called Seated. It showed table for 2, reservation time, etc. But I didn't get any kind of confirmation. I wish I had called them sooner, but I checked that afternoon and found out I had been misled. The manager said he was sorry, but the app doesn't do reservations. My hunch had come true. Being a busy day and not knowing what else to do so late in the game, I asked if there was anything he could do. He said he would accommodate us at the bar. So we show up and sat at the bar, only to then be informed that the bar doesn't serve dinner. So... What are they accommodating, exactly? I asked again for the manager and he said there was nothing he could do. They did have a small bar menu which was a bunch of snacks and dips. We ordered the 4 vegetarian ones. Hummus, Muhamara, and one other dip. Even though we had 3 dips, they only served us 2 pieces of pita bread. We did have this other dish, which was a mini mini pizza-ish thing. It was kind of way too over seasoned. Anyway, the bread was fluffy and warm and the food were ok. Lastly, we had some kind of chocolate mousse dessert, which was very blech. The waitress / bartender behind the counter wasn't too great. I think she was probably annoyed at us trying to make special requests for the dinner menu and all, but it was a misleading situation. First due to the app and then due to our understanding of "accomidation". Anyway, I'm giving this place 3 stars for now, because they kind of tried andahne the app thing isn't their fault. But otherwise I wouldn't have given it more than 2 stars. still, the tasting menu is probably good - buy we wouldn't know. Well .. maybe we'll be back under normal circumstances. The food & drinks are really good however to call them great would be a stretch. Highlight of my visit was a Lebanese whisky which I could've ordered beati also & I'd be just as satisfied. Said drink was damn near $50. The notes in the whisky were reminiscent of a dessert namely apples & caramel. It's worth noting that the drinks have balances that are only capable in a few establishments.i also ordered the pita bread which was a welcome accomplish to the broth with the chicken dish. Nice ambience and does definitely have the Mediterranean feel. The service is top-notch. Our waiter Lex gave good recommendations and was super attentive. We got the Chickpea Fetta...make sure you mix it all together first before eating as the individual ingredients on the plate taste so much better mixed. For dessert we got the Hazelnut Chocolate and Bananas although strangely enough there were no bananas...but the home made chocolate (nuttela-like) spread was very light and sweet but not too sweet...it was very good. Prices were steep for a Sunday brunch but it was good food so I'm not complaining. Oh also they charge an automatic 20% fee including an extra staff wellbeing fee. I've been following Beity's journey to becoming a restaurant online for over two years, and to say that my expectations were high would be an understatement. I watched photos of stunning dishes populate my Instagram feed and couldn't wait to see if the final dining experience would live up to them. After finally getting the opportunity to dine there last week, I can say that I couldn't have imagined my visceral response to the meal. (i.e., the final tasting scene in Ratatouille) As a Palestinian American who has always appreciated a tasting menu, I was genuinely moved to see such authentic Middle Eastern ingredients and dishes elevated to the caliber that Chef Ryan Fakih achieved with his menu. In today's world, where the Middle East is often at the forefront of global discussions, it feels more vital than ever to recognize and appreciate the beauty and complexity of its culture--especially its cuisine. I felt a profound emotional shift when I saw "Teta's Tasting" at the top of the menu while sipping a "Tabouleh" cocktail. While I've had tasting menus highlighting every other cuisine, this felt like a true homage to our collective heritage and the immense love that can be found in our grandmother's dishes. From the moment I stepped into Beity, I was blown away by the warmth of the space. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, with subtle touches that pay homage to a Lebanese home while maintaining a modern, refined atmosphere. Everyone I interacted with--from the hostess to the bartender to our server--was more welcoming than the last. Now, let's talk about the food. Each dish on the tasting menu was a work of art, meticulously crafted and beautifully presented. It's one thing for a chef to create a new dish that nobody has ever seen before, but the dining experience felt like a master class in taking some of the most beloved dishes of my childhood to a Michelin-starred level. The Shish Barak, Sayadiah, and Qatayef were some of my absolute favorite dishes on the menu, so get your taste buds ready. Not to mention, the staff presented each of these dishes with a perfectly concise explanation of the dish and its significance to the chef, which gave the meal so much more context. The staff was always present for a question or a refill but never overbearing. The attention to detail while wiping down the table between each course did not go unappreciated, especially while representing a culture so driven by cleanliness.
