Great food and a menu you don't find at every restaurant. Start with the artichoke dip served with soft, warm pita bread "chips". Or carrots and celery sticks. Truly an amazing way to start your meal and there is plenty to share!! Main course favorites include salmon salad, chipotle chicken, my favorite Waldorf chicken salad on croissant with sweet potato fries with an amazing horseradish sauce. I'm not a fan of their homemade chips so I would recommend choosing fries or sweet potato fries. While they have a huge variety of wine, if you want to forego an adult beverage, they have the very best coffee in Fulton!! I dined here on a Friday night, hungry for steak. I do not recommend this place if you want a good steak. The artichoke dip was good. The $21 flavorless steak came with one side but a $3 charge for salad. What?!? It did come with a bread but the butter was too hard to spread. Nicely decorated place. Decent service. read more

A far better restaurant than you'd probably expect in a place the size of Fulton. The food is absolutely fantastic, and the atmosphere surprisingly sophisticated. You can get a fairly reasonably priced lunch if you wish, with some terrific sandwich options. The chipotle chicken is a particular favorite of mine. For lunch today I decided that life is short. So i had Cake... To be specific I had Zucchini Cake from Bek's. OMG !!!!!!!! I am sure it had to be homemade by the loving hands of Rebecca. So if you get the chance to go get you a piece of this wonderful cake i suggest eating it in private. Or everyone will want a sample. By far the best Fulton has to offer. I was dismayed when all I saw at first while driving around were Arby's, Subway, and McDonald restaurants. Someone told me about Beks because it was cozy and I had a bit of time to wait. It was a good recommendation. The surrounding area is a nice brick (on the roads, the buildings, pretty much anything that could be brick was) district downtown. The servers were quick, maybe a little understaffed, but the menu tells you that up front. The decor is unique and I really enjoyed some of the modern paintings of houses and towns. There is a pretty good selection of beer. It would seem some of the other reviewers don't understand what a rotating tap is. The selection changes based on availability and season. The food is inexpensive ($6-12 for lunch, again not sure where some of the other reviewers eat, but perhaps visiting a city with real restaurants might put prices in perspective). I ordered the beer, chicken and cheese soup cup to start. Not as thick as I am used to, but still good. Everything here has a hint of spicy just on case you don't like that. For the entree I got the chipotle chicken sandwich with a kale salad. The salad was nice, again a bit spicy. The sandwich was good but a few things could have been improved. The bun was just a toasted hamburger bun, and the chicken was thin. I liked that the chicken was thin, but because the bun was so thick it over powered it a little. I did not opt for desert, but they seemed to have a good selection. Very quaint and I am relieved I did not have to eat fast food again in this area. read more

Been there many times - last on Friday night - had appetizers, meals and conversation - manager came and asked us to leave, that our table was needed. My daughter was there with friends on Thursday evening & a waitress actually followed them into the street demanding tips! Overpriced - not unusual to pay $26.99 for a very small filet and 3 pieces of asparagus. Probably won't be back! read more

I would probably describe Beks as overpriced and overhyped. Hidden gem indeed, in a place with absolutely nothing else to do. We tried the steak which was fine. No baked potato though; fries, cottage cheese, or salad only. The pasta was fine, nothing extraordinary. Lots of obscure beer choices but missing some local favorites. Ate lunch there for the first time today...july 25,2011...and really enjoyed it . Food was excellent and wait staff very attentive. Traveled over from Columbia to visit Winston Churchill Museum which was great! Will visit Beks again and I am sure again and again. I recommend the very nice restaurant! read more

Gave Beks several attempts prove me wrong. Return trips only proved me right and will not be back. Why? Waiter/waitresses-not well versed on menu. Not child friendly-ignored by most staff. Too much playing around and flirting between staff/staff and staff/guests. No sense of urgency. The most recent and last visit to Beks visiting family was told, by someone in line at the post office, Beks was great, Against my better judgment, we went. Beks proved me right. We were seated at a table for 8 in a storage room with no chairs, no table setting, dirty with no menus or beverages. Wait staff was very disconnected and rude. Left without ordering as we worked our way around the 5-6 uncaring staff members(not sure who was hostessing, who was waiting or who was visiting) blocking the entrance. The glass case displaying desserts for takeout made me cringe but my guest suggested we get dessert for later. Carrot cake was disgustingly stale and the cheesecake-first bite contained a small brown hair. Human or rodent you ask? Don't care. Won't be back read more
