Safety isn't everything if you are getting ripped off. BUYER BEWARE! Don't get distracted by the checker and bag people while they ring up the wrong price. Barcodes don't match advertised prices on many items. They know it and hope you don't notice. I won't go there unless its an emergency anymore since I get ripped off every time I enter the place. I have been proactive not to get caught up in the distracting conversation while checking out. Its as if they are distracting you from noticing they aren't ringing up the prices you think you are paying. It's hard to keep up if purchasing a whole cart of goods. I was charged for 2 bags of potatoes when I only had one. I was overcharged on SEVERAL items on MANY occasions. This is happening too much to be a mistake or oversight. Credibility ruined. I was lied to by a checker who acted like she was doing me a favor wouldn't charge for bags after I refused to purchase bags...only to notice after I got home I was charged for 5 bags instead of 4 "free" bags I tried not to get! I don't know what they call the practice of leaving "expired" prices up and then when you point out they overcharged, they act as if you are cheap and wrong for doing so. Last time was the final straw. I bought a bag of candy for 2.50 as a "last chance" discount offer on the rack. When she rang it up it was 3.89. I pointed it out and a runner went to check. She said the price tag expired a month prior. I could understand if it was yesterday but a month? How many others paid 3.89 in a month? This is one item of many. Never a complaint here. Love the selection. Love the atmosphere. Love the customer service. This is my local grocer when I'm in the Gold River area, and I have no reason to look elsewhere. Bel Air is a grocery that definitely appeals to the more affluent community, but doesn't look to shun anyone. They have a great bakery, a wonderful deli selection, and a pretty fair organic produce selection. Their wine aisle is impressive, and their selection of craft and Belgian ales has me coming back regularly. It's my goal to try them all, but I don't think I'll ever do it, since they're frequently bringing in new offerings from local breweries! Their customer service is great too. Always friendly, and never a hard time about a return. I even once took a beer home and found that something had gone wrong in the bottling and the cap had leaked. The beer was flat and stale. They asked me to bring in the empty, and gladly replaced it, no questions. That's how you do it. read more

Don't get your canned foods here. I have never been so disappointed with Raley's in my life. Never again. I reported this to corporate and filed a claim with the store when this happened which was about a month ago and nobody called me back like they were suppose to. They literally don't care this happened or at least they are acting careless to hide the fact that they know it's a big deal. The comment they left is a bunch of crap acting like they care. I always shop Raleys or Bel Air and when I moved to Old Fair oaks I naturally came to this store, wow what a disappointment. I think the checker was also a manager and he was not enjoying his job. I've been in numerous times and the whole vibe of the store is tense and not at all like the Raleys stores at hazel and San Juan where the employees smile and are helpful . Not the employees fault, totally managements inability to "know their customer base" and react to it. I helped a lady who was walking around this store looking for "peanut butter" which I found disgusting. I helped her by walking through the complete store asking customers that tried to help me HELP her. NOTE: not an employee around on "any isles"... When I asked to speak to a manager to discuss this issue: no one appeared...Talked to a great long term employee all I got was sorry, sorry. sorry...they have nothing to be sorry for. I stopped by the deli department yesterday to order a sandwich and some turkey and was treated like actual dog crap from the woman assisting me. She was rude, aggressive and made it very clear she wanted no part in helping me. (She was the chunky brunette with arm tattoos). I am absolutely appalled by how I was treated and although, no customer should be treated poorly, I spend thousands of dollars a month at Raley's and Bel Air and should never feel the way I did yesterday after leaving the store. I even came home and told my husband what happened and he said he's experienced a similar interaction with her. At this point, I would much rather find a new grocery store than go back and be treated so badly. If management is looking at these reviews, I would highly suggest taking a closer look at how your customers are being treated. read more

I recently had a very complicated cake order, and the staff was amazing. Shauna was so helpful and friendly! Her willingness to go above and beyond in making sure I was satisfied. I was already feeling uneasy for placing a high demanding order but she made me feel completely comfortable and genuine in her desire to accomplish my order. Not only was it accomplished it tasted incredible, and I gave three recommendations to people that tried the cake as well as many more to come! read more

There is almost nothing to dislike about this store. My husband and I have been shopping here since 2000. The meats and seafood are excellent - nice and fresh. The butcher is happy to ask questions about the merchandise and even cut meats to order. Their deli section has a wide variety of choices: salads, sandwiches, items to take home and eat...mmmmm! I have tasted better Chinese, but if you were expecting Fat's or P.F. Chang's, at a grocery lunch counter, you missed the memo. For all that, I've tasted much worse Chinese food, too. Their bakery is attempting array of specialty cakes, and their "ordinary" stuff is to die for. Get here early enough, and you can have their scrumptious doughnuts. They go fast! Their produce is simply wonderful. They sell both regular and organic. Both are delicious. Even their conventionally grown produce is a cut above a lot of other stores. Oh, and did I mention marvelous customer service? They help you take out groceries out to the car, which is very helpful to us since both my husband are disabled. I have recently resorted to running in here for a quick breakfast or lunch 3 times and I was so pleasantly surprised at the good stuff I left with. Egg and Bacon Panini I asked them to heat it up and yum! It's pretty big so it makes for an excellent breakfast. Sushi! I am very disappointed in Belair in Rancho Córdova. They have gone downhill before Covid. I blame it on the store manager. There are so many things he won't let staff order. For 2 years I have waited for a product that never comes in. The beef has gravely done down. Tonight I ate salmon that made me sick that had a sell by date of tomorrow. This is a huge and beautiful supermarket. Clean, good parking,wide aisles, butcher, deli, rotisserie, sushi, bakery, great! I ordered two deli platters, the roll ups and fresh fruit, $39.99 each. I really hate grocery shopping. Really. But when I HAVE to go, this store makes it a little easier. With wide, brightly lit isles, shelves that are not packed too tightly, a great selection of everything from "ethnic" foods to health foods to alcohol, it's not such a chore to shop here. And speaking of alcohol, they have a giant isle with cherry wood floors and not a locked case in sight. Speaking as a person who used to have to shop in the type of stores where the liquor was locked up, this is a pleasant change. The bakery is unlike any I've ever seen in a super market: the desserts look like they came from a fancy French bakery. Add in friendly staff and kids who are more than happy to help you out with your groceries, and it makes for a not-totally-horrible shopping experience. And that's saying a lot. read more

The best supermarket I've ever been to. They are super friendly and I've never seen so many smiling faces in a grocery store. Some of the workers have been there for years and years. I lived in Gold River back in High School but I can still recognize a lot of faces after 8 years. The hot wok has these awesome old Chinese ladies who will remember you (even after 8 years) and they make pretty good food for not having any MSG. Instead of getting the pre-made food try ordering their chow fun, they'll make it on the spot, it'll take around 10 mins but it's probably the best you can find around the area. Pro: The store is always clean and organized. The staff is very very friendly. I don't hate grocery shopping anymore! I love the variety they have and great sales! Con: The Asian food in the deli area, to-go, has really decrease the amount of food and meat they give you. I am pretty sure they are a contracted company for a spot in the store. They close early (like a good 30 minutes), very rude each time (we eat it at least once a week) and they give about 7 pieces of meat in a rice bowl now and say "it's too full" if you ask for more... We have been shopping here since they opened. Before they opened we shop at Raleys at Folsom and Coloma, which happens to be closer to our house. That Raleys has gone down hill over the years, and many of the items we were buying there were no longer carried, and we found them and more at the Bel Air. Over the last couple of months our Bel Air has been undergoing a remodel. This has made shopping much more difficult and time consuming due to most items being frequently moved to various random places in the store. We lived with the inconvenience. Sunday, 11/6/11 during checkout the clerk asks to rescan ATM card due to a problem. This has happened before at other stores, and we have been overcharged. When told that the clerk said to run it as a credit card and then the overcharge can not occur. Looking at our bank info, we found they had double charged us. We called them and reported the problem to Martha were told they would take care of it "today or tomorrow." The next day, checked our account and found no refund, and saw they had also charged us again, a 3rd time. Total- 2 charges on 11/6 and 1 more charge on 11/7. Called back and spoke to Robby on 11/9@ 12:30, who said we will be reimbursed for the 2 extra charges. 11/10 called again and spoke to Jessica at 08:15 and then her sup - still working thru - took another report and said "don't know when we'll be reimbursed. Our on-line banking was down for upgrades until last night, 11/13. Found we had been credited for one of the overcharges, but not the 2nd. Called back and spoke to Candy at noon today, 11/14. As I was trying to explain our problem, she cut me off, and started what seemed to be a boiler plate script explanation she was reading off a paper. At which point I tried to cut off her cut off to explain that I needed to go out today and buy groceries, and was trying to decide where I would do my shopping. Candy explained that she had no idea when would get our full refund. I said this is into the 9th day, and that seemed too long to me. She kept trying to cut me off and/or talk over me, making excuses about the number of business days, etc. Not my idea of customer service. I hope they have it on tape to learn how to better help dissatisfied customers in the future. She did apologize for the problem. But clearly she was trying to get rid of me as quickly as possible. At that point I asked her to please report up the chain of command that I will never shop at Raleys, Bel Air or Nob Hill again. Her reply to that was that was not based on this conversation. Really? She never asked how I felt they could help me. No offer of a gift card to ease my pain. I feel they don't really care. read more

This is the only Bel Air we shop at because the people who work here are so amazing and helpful. The nice blonde lady who is usually at self check out does an awesome job and is great with the customers. The Chinese food is delicious and always super fresh! The sandwich department is on point as well! Lots of fresh, organic produce and yummy breads from the bakery. They have great products and every employee helps to create a wonderful experience. My husband and I love their amazing beer selection too. They have a ton of singles & craft beers available to choose from so it's always possible to try something new! Nice work guys! read more

I never thought I could love a grocery store so much I would Yelp about it. Like the reviewers all mention before me, I have never met a friendlier staff in a grocery store. In the fruits and veggie department, they go out of their way to help you pick the best and ripest veggies/fruits. Wandering the isles, there is always someone to offer a smile and give you a hand if you need it. There's pretty much a smile everywhere you turn: the bakery, the sandwich counter, the meat department... Checking out literally brightens my day pretty much no matter who happens to be ringing up my groceries. Too bad I can't afford to do my regular grocery shopping there. We were just here last night and my husband bought some amazing salami from the deli counter. We came back to get more, and I told the lady behind the counter that we got some salami the day before, but I couldn't remember which one. With attitude, she turned away to get gloves and very loudly complained about me to her co-worker wondering how I couldn't remember which one I bought. Look lady, I had a good idea of which one. Flower Department Complaint: Thursday, April 12th I special ordered 22 White Mums to be picked up Saturday April 14th for a large funeral reception. I was told they needed to be ordered and ready for pick up on the date mentioned. Laura the sales representative took my order. She mentioned she had only 4 flowers on the floor and the an order was necessary. I agreed and said I would be back Saturday afternoon. Laura mentioned she wouldn't be available Saturday however Mary Dee would have the order ready for pickup. On Saturday, 2:30pm I arrived to pickup the flowers. I approached Mary Dee and asked for my order. She said there was no record of an order under my name or company. Not only was my order neglected but the flowers were there but promised to someone else. Being very frustrated with what happened I cannot believe there was such a poor explanation of what happened. Mary Dee and Bell Air had no concern for my position in providing for this funeral reception. What ever happened to the customer service and attention to detail that Bel Air/Raleys are supposedly provides? After I left Bel Air I had no other choice but to drive straight to Costco. Costco's customer service was impeccable, they went out of their way to find the flowers, arrange a pickup and delivery immediately. Thank you Costco for coming through and pleasing the those at the funeral reception. Note: everyone at the funeral reception ask where the flowers came from. Costco Costco Costco. Not Bel Air/ Raleys. I was totally saddened by the poor service and lack of respect that should have been easily handled by Bel Air/Raleys. read more

Remember those checkstands and the friendly "seasoned " clerks that we always wanted to chat with. (I called them the "checkstands therapist"). Well they're all gone.
