While this Bel Air is a convenient stop I find it's best to come here for basics and without a must purchase shopping list. The parking lot is a busy one, but has ample parking- you'll want to be careful of others driving through and pedestrians walking around the parking lot. Inside the sections are well organized, but I've found that the selection of meats and produce aren't always as extensive as other local options. Definitely not the biggest issue, I just plan my shopping here around what I know they have and shop elsewhere for items that this location typically lacks. read more

Bel Air was my go-to grocery store for years when I used to live in Natomas! It is located in a shopping center off West El Camino next to Starbucks. We stopped in while in the area to get groceries for the weekend. Their prices are comparable to most other stores and they do carry some harder to find items. Their produce is hit or miss - I wanted to buy some basil, but it didn't look very good. They had ice on their lettuce too which I found odd - not sure if that was a normal thing. They have a decent bakery section, take home sushi display and Chinese take out area as well. The store is usually pretty well organized and staff isn't the friendliest, but I'm usually on a mission when I'm grocery shopping and don't care to be bothered. I don't want to say how many years I've been coming to this place as it'll give away my age :) They have a small selection of vegetables, so I don't always know if I'll get what I need however, this is my go to for my milk and my chocolate milk. One of the few places that has milk that is dated pretty far out and that you can count on never being sour or gross. The fair life chocolate milk is my husband's favorite chocolate milk ever and it's one of the places you can count on to have it. One thing I really like about this place is that they always have in stock all strawberry yogurt, which most places don't they only usually have strawberry with banana or something else. I like that they are open pretty late so I can always count on them if I forget last minute that I don't have creamer for the morning. This is a great place for you to go get your last-minute selections or something. You may have forgot not always the most inexpensive prices however it's not the most expensive place either. All the workers are seemingly really nice. I've only had one experience with the bakery that I was very unhappy with however I was able to drive to North NATOMAS and go to that Raleys and get what I needed. The employees here are great, but the store is chronically understaffed. Lines and wait times to check out are long. Honestly I try to avoid this store because it's more expensive than other stores and the speed of service doesn't make up for that. Usually it's one or two cashiers for at least 10-15 people in line. To my surprise, after purchasing one thing today that was a birthday surprise while I was w/the birthday girl, I needed a bag for a small "cake." Oh that will be 10c. Quality: 4 Value: 4 Service: 5 We use Bel Air for three main reasons: - ease of use of app-based ordering and picking up - they use unionized labor and treat their workers right - it's near our house Since COVID19 began, ordering from here using their app is honestly a huge time saver and I don't foresee us going back to shopping in person once pandemic protocols end. They are always really responsive and have great customer service if something has to get substituted or we want to change something. The ONLY real negative I can think of is that their personal shopper sometimes grab produce that is nearly expired, or dairy products that are near their expiration date (while I always reach to the back of the fridge to get the newest product). Every time me or my fiancé go shopping we are guaranteed to find spoiled or rotten food. The workers or the farmers must care too much about this community because they wouldn't literally put food on the shelves that could make people sick. I'm not talking about organic produce decaying faster, I'm talking about milk that's out of date, raspberries that are bright on top and green and fuzzy on the bottom, premade salads that give you the sh!ts, and even boxed food on shelves that's out of date. So Bel Air's Italian Rum is one of my favorite cakes, well until yesterday. How do you sell Italian Rum cake without any Rum or even rum flavoring? The Rum used to be so strong when you took the lid off you got a contact high (not really but you get my point) then a several years ago I noticed there was a lot less rum, but still delicious. I've raved about this cake so much so, I had to put my money where my mouth was. So I bought one for my nieces dad's birthday, well this time we struggled to find even a hit of rum anything, I don't know if they forgot the rum or what. So I had to find happiness in the almonds. I'm going to give the cake a second chance as my sister's birthday is coming up. Even though the advertisement of rum failed to deliver, the cake was still very good. So three stars. read more

Came here to buy some oysters and saw that lobster tails were being sold for 5 bucks a piece. Saw the lady working there just literally helped someone infront of me. When i asked for helped she told me to ring the bell. I pressed the bell button and waited for someone to come out to help me. Like come on. How lazy can you be. Before the pandemic, we only occasionally bought our groceries here, when we were missing an item or when we needed something on a weekend. Usually, I would buy my groceries from Trader Joes which is right next to my office. But since the pandemic began, we've been getting all our groceries from here and it has been great. Most of the time we opt for the e-cart curbside delivery system which is super easy. But what is extra nice, is that Bel Air is actually taking safety precautions seriously, which means that we do feel safe enough to go into the store when we really need to. Like the neighborhood, the store has also followed the chain and evolved into a more high end grocery experience. This store is located on El Camino and Truxel Roads surrounded by many Yelp favorites. The overall layout of the store has not changed, but the owners have cleaned up the look to meet the chain standards. The selection of gourmet and organic options has dramatically increased, but there are still all the old favorites. You will pay a little more here, but you get great service and selection. Having someone bag groceries or using the eCart system is worth a few bucks! I have also used this Bel Air several times for catering, and the staff have been just great. They chill the sodas, and load the car for you making it really easy. The South Natomas Bel Air will not win any beauty contests, but it is probably the best option in the area for full service grocery shopping. read more

I've been coming to this location for years. The employees are absolutely amazing here. The store is always well kept. They have a pharmacy, bakery, deli and hot food area. They have a little area so kids can get a free fruit while you shop. They also give kids free balloons if you ask. The bakery will also give them a free cookie. This store is very kid friendly. On Monday's they have $5 deals. You should sign up for the rewards card. You get free money and discounts on things you buy. The shopping center itself is starting to get a little sketchy. I usually don't go after dark anymore. They do have a security guard but still they usually just stay inside. read more

While living in the area, I would visit this Bel Air location- off of Truxel road - only when I was desperate for last-minute ingredients. While at the time this store was convenient to my home, it always lacked basic brands or items. Some of the staff were absolutely wonderful and friendly while others pretended that customers did not exist. Symptomatic of all other Bel-Airs, the prices were (and still are) over-the-top, averaging a good 15 to 30% higher than similar grocery stores. On occasion there would be a good sale, but I noticed the higher prices on produce did not mean higher quality. This particular location has a separate customer service/post-office counter, however they had very limited hours and ever-changing rules on what you could, and could not mail. I will say the deli area was well managed: Those who worked at the counter were friendly and seemed to have a good time, which created a friendly environment anytime I would place an order. The store at some point time may have been nice and modern, but unfortunately several areas need a serious upgrade, not just haphazard repairs here and there. Kudos to the staff who try hard to keep it neat and clean! The shopping center, housing various chain and independent stores, has also fallen into somewhat disrepair. It seems the property owners are just not interested in updating. In the years I shopped at this location, it went from decent, to okay, to unkempt ghetto. The last few times I stopped by, not only were the prices still high with low-quality fresh items, but the parking lot had deteriorated to the point where they need a security guard 24/7. They may already have that now... Over-inflated prices with an unsafe parking lot, equals no thank you, I'll pass. read more

This is what happened: On the evening of 4 August 2022, I visited my fave Bel Air to buy some produce, milk and orange juice. After I arrived, the store's music system began to play a soft rock tune I had never heard. I have no idea who the singer was, but it was a man. The tune was entertaining -- a good, slow beat with a guitar. In it, the singer bemoans his deteriorating relationship with a woman. I was standing among wholesome oranges, apples and lemons in a pristine setting, at roughly 10:40 p.m., when the song reached its shocking end. In words clear as gin, the singer bellowed: "You're still talking shit." I couldn't believe it! I was stunned! I don't appreciate profanity in a family business. So I wonder why the Bel Air music system played this song? It usually broadcasts superb songs without gutter language. I returned to the same Bel Air a week later. Really hit or miss. I've been doing eCart here and quality of service really depends on what day it is. Sometimes I get a lovely woman who calls or texts to go over substitutions with me. She told me that even during quarantine, they're supposed to be doing this. A different woman said they're too busy and I'll get whatever they give me as a substitute and they won't call. I saw another review about staff wearing masks incorrectly, and I also saw that when I went into the store. In fact, one of the people wearing their mask like a necklace was (I was told) the store manager. So, I'm sure he just doesn't care. Belair, part of the raleys fine store chain. This is my local goto store. I have been coming here since i moved to natomas back in 2004. Many of the employees are still here, which makes it feel like home in a sense, many know my family and are always friendly, and helpful. They have recently updated this store and the look is amazing compared to the old look. Returns: i have only had to do a few returns over the years, once was pineapples, and oranges(at different times) they looked and smelt great on the outside but once we got home, yeah they were indeed bad when cut open, so not sure what todo i brang em back the next day for a simple return, said what happen and got my money back. And the other was on milk, it had a funny taste, definitely different but not spoiled. (If you ever seen napoleon dynamite, the part where he is a milk taste tester ,you know what i mean). But again simple return. just make sure yiu have the receipt, that is needed, especially for the easy return part. Shopping is primarily easy in this store. There produce, meat and cheese, seafood, and bakery department have been really good here, i cant really complain much about this location, besides the neighborhood. Overall, pretty great staff, decent selection of items, good sale prices, gotta check out the raleys dailies, and the monday $5 deals. Sometimes they have them Saturday to monday as well. It's pretty much a Bel Air. You shop for sales. Other stuff is priced a bit higher than average. Produce is better than the Smart Foods a bit down the Truxel. This location is busy at lunch due to many large offices in the vicinity. If you really want that Bel Air Chinese food,or sandwich get in line before 12pm. Same for using their mail window. Also there is a better than average chance someone will ask you for money as you approach the store. read more

Not the best Bel Air in town, not the worst. There are several apt. complexes within walking distance so it gets really busy during peak hours. Parking lot can be a bitch. Store is smaller & older than the other ones in Natomas. They could really use a remodel, especially in the bakery & produce sections. Personnel are very friendly. The meat dept. guys always go above & beyond. They'll sharpen your knives for free usually while you shop. The only area I've gotten bad service in is the bakery. The cases where they keep individual items like doughnuts, bagels, etc. are usually under-stocked & unkempt. And they never have twist-ties! More than once, I've gone up to pay for stuff, only to have it come spilling out of the bakery bags. HATE that!!! They started running "bogo" coupons for their coffee drinks, so I thought I'd give the Peets a try. The bakery staff does the drinks which is fine, but after 3 tries, I came away twice with drinks that were awful. Go a couple of doors down to Starbucks or 2 miles over to the store on Arena Blvd. read more

I've been shopping here for six months and haven't had any problems in the service department. The store is nice inside, and it has a good selection. Came here before a snow trip to get snacks, food and other things just to constantly be watched, profiled and internally reported on by staff who thought we were going to steal.
