Tri Tip sandwich

Finally got a chance to stop by here, passed here everyday but never did stop. I'm glad I did today. Got the Tuesday special tri tip sandwich and it was amazing! Staff are so friendly and the atmosphere is very rustic and comfortable. Staff suggested I try the train wreck next time! I'll be back!

Old school, hole in the wall place with a funky interior of a few tables and outdoor picnic tables. Service was friendly and prompt even during the busy lunch hour. Tri tip sandwich was excellent - tender, lightly bbq sauce on a fresh baguette with lettuce and tomato (I held the onions and mayo). My friends tri tip tacos were proclaimed delicious as were the fries - hot and crisp with the right amount of salt. Definitely want to go back to try the breaksfast burritos as well as the burgers.

This business is ranked #4 on Yelp's Top 100 Taco Spots for 2025. It's one of those places that's in the category of great unassuming hole-in-the-wall finds that serve darn tasty food. We came on a weekday before noon (& before the lunch crowd line & wave of takeout orders). We parked in the unpaved lot by the smoker. Across the way are train tracks. Inside is a small, cramped space, & customers maneuver around each other. There are a few close-quarters tables & a lot of refrigerated beverages available. Fountain drinks are self-service. We were greeted by a friendly man who took our order at the counter. While waiting outside, order names are announced loudly & clearly over a speaker when ready. Outside, there is more seating at a few long picnic tables with umbrellas along the street. Like a picnic setting, you occasionally need to wave away some flies. Our experience felt very communal with the diverse diners--people accommodated each other at the shared tables, joked a bit, & we bumped into an acquaintance. We ordered their famous Tri-Tip Tacos, which look simple, but offer such deliciousness. The meat has smokiness & a little tang that is flavorfully prominent, but not overpowering. It is juicy, tender, & easy to bite through. The tortilla is crisp & has saltiness from a sprinkle of cheese. It's all buried under a mountain of shredded cheese & lettuce that offers a fresh, cool contrast to the rich meat. There's a charm to an inconspicuous, humble restaurant that provides such a satisfying experience. We enjoyed our eats here.

We were in the area for a basketball tournament and was looking around for a spot to grab lunch. We drove past, noticed the line out the door, and full picnic tables out front. I quickly checked Yelp and made a u-turn which ended up being the best decision. The line does go by fast and there are maybe 2-3 parties waiting inside so don't be afraid of the line out the door. The inside looks like a roadside country market with a few tables to sit and eat at. We were lucky that the special included the tri tip tacos which was $16.99 and it came with Mac or potato salad and a fountain drink. We also ordered the loaded pastrami sandwich. All I have to say is DELICIOUS!!! Both meats were tender, moist, and sliced so thinly. Highly recommended if you're in the area and will be coming back to have more.

Look at that sandwich!

EPIC Tri-Tip sandwich - meat so exquisitely tender and full of smoky flavor. Bun was up to the job of wrangling the innards. Served with lettuce, tomato, mayo, and BBQ sauce in proportions that don't overshadow that ahhhhmazing meat. I had read about Roundhouse as a deli, but the aroma of that smoked meat sucked me in and I switched from a Rueben and ended up ordering the Tri-Tip. O M G - TOTAL WIN! Took a quick minute for me to connect "Roundhouse" to the train engine complex and multiple tracks straight across the street. Then a 13-minute freight train rolled by. Train geek heaven and epic food in one spot. The locals clearly know what a gem this place is - non stop orders right up until closing time of 5 pm.

This place was awesome! The service was quick and friendly (we did go around 3pm on a Thursday) , we had our orders within minutes. The tri tip tacos were the star of the show! Don't forget the hot sauce! My plain turkey sandwich was also very fresh quality and delicious. We will be back!

We have been wanting to try Roundhouse Deli for years and finally went! We made the order over the phone and it was ready for pick up in less than 10 min. The food was so delicious. The deli is quant with good vibes and energy. They were super busy but the pick up was quick. Def coming back!!

There's a chicken taco hiding underneath that mountain of cheddar cheese. Not health food - 100% DELICIOUS!

Beef Tri-tip taco trio at 10:00am. Breakfast of champions. Delicious. Smoky richness. Cooked well done yet still moist. Early hour means there are tables and chairs available. Usually all taken at lunchtime. The take out orders were flying out the door. Rightfully so, the food is down home marvelous.

Roundhouse deli is definitely a place you need to check out at least once if you are in Roseville. It is literally next to the train tracks so parking is all on the street and restaurant looks like a hole in the wall. There are tables inside and outside to eat but not too many. Usually there's a line out the door if you come during peak lunch hours. On the weekends and Friday they have tri tip tacos and I highly recommend getting these. The tri tip is so tender and pairs well with the crisped up tortilla and cheese and lettuce. The ingredients are so simple but so delicious. Make sure you get the red spicy sauce to put in your taco. Also, if you go for breakfast their burritos are huge, but be warned you may not be able to do any work after eating their burritos cause they are huge haha Check out roundhouse deli and you won't be disappointed. It's for sure Tex-mex so not your traditional Mexican food but oh it's good!

We stopped in on a Tuesday around noon - the place was hopping - people sitting inside and out but seemed as if most people got their order to go - lots of street parking - they have outside picnic seating too. We got there and when inside my husband grabbed a two seater table - we ordered tacos, Reuben & 2 fountain drinks - the service was super fast - the line kept moving with a constant in and out of people - I see why though - Thai place is a hidden gem - the inside is decorated with train and old Roseville style stuff - the food is amazing!! The tacos I scarfed them down as they so delish - the tri tip was smoked and perfect for the tacos my husband also scarfed down the Reuben and said it was great!!! hidden gem - check it out!!!!

Always love my Roundhouse deli Chicken tacos! I had been craving one all week so we went yesterday, a Sunday. Be warned weekends are very busy and they are closed Sundays. Prices are fantastic and food terrific! Service is fast and friendly. Limited seating available. Love love love this place!

Does this place have air conditioning?

Yes

As of today, when are the tri-tip tacos available? Thought I saw somewhere they're available all week now?

Does anyone know what the Monday specials currently are?

Cheesesteak, Hot Pastrami, Grilled Reuben, and Trainwreck. This is based off my menu photos from early 2021, which were the same as another person's photo at the end of 2020. I suspect it doesn't change much for the regulars to know what meats to…

Has anyone used these folks to cater a backyard gathering? Looking at maybe 50 people. Thank you!

Yep.

Any kosher or halal meat?

I'm not sure what would qualify. They have chicken, chicken sandwich and chicken tacos. Breakfast is usually Bacon, Sausage burritos or Tri-Tip burritos and tacos for lunch. Pastrami is popular. I don't think they do the garden burgers or the fake…

Are there Vegetarian options?

I have often grabbed salads and large fruit salads from the soda case. I'm almost positive they do grilled cheese sandwiches too if cheese is something you can have! The salads are good but can run out if they are busy.

What comes in the trash breakfast burrito?

Egg, sausage, potato, pepper jack cheese, beans, lettuce, tomato, onion and jalapeños... and if they can fit the kitchen sink, that'll go too

I keep forgetting to ask, when I'm there, if the taco shells are corn or flour. Does anyone know?

They use corn tortillas for the tacos (flour for the fabulous breakfast burritos).

Anyone know what days they have tri tip tacos?

Tue wed fri sat

When did this store open?

They have been there for awhile but the owners changed multiple times. The current owner took over 8 or 9 years ago.

Clean storefront with plenty of tables and homey Americana decor. My initial visit I ordered from their "vintage" menu. I got Erik's B.L.A.S.T. with bacon, Arcadian lettuce, avocado, clover sprouts, Secret Goo and tomato on toasted sourdough. They accidentally forgot the clover sprouts on my order. I love sprouts, so I was a bit disappointed when I realized they were missing. However the sandwich was great so it didn't ruin the meal. I loved their special tuna sandwich, called the Ocean Avenue, which was a delicious concoction. Made with tuna salad, cucumbers, onions, tomatoes, clover sprouts, and sweet hot mustard on swirl rye bread. The ingredients were all fresh & tasty. Another winner I just consumed was the Ciao Down, made with the softest Dutch Crunch I've ever eaten. I appreciated having the roof of my mouth intact! The combination of ingredients (salami, turkey, Swiss, tomato, onions, clover sprouts, basil pesto) gave me salty, vinegary, sour, and savory, with just a mild spicy kick from the hot cherry peppers. Whatever you do, don't skip the carrot cake! It is the best carrot cake I've ever had. I actually wondered if they outsourced it, but it turns out it's a proprietary family recipe. Made with carrots, pineapples, cream cheese frosting, and walnuts. It tastes homemade and perfectly balanced.

The owners of this venue are simply adorable…read more I ran a sandwich food challenge on the Nexdoor app and I reviewed a few sandwich shops recommended to check out. The Pastrami Shop was roughly 7 miles from home, so it was worth the short drive. The place is right off Sunset and Whitney Blvd in Rocklin. It's a very small place so ordering to go is popular. But if you find a seat, definitely enjoy the local vibe of the regulars and talk with the owners for a bit. They really are passionate about their business, and serving their customers. I really enjoyed my half hot pastrami classic sandwich. The bread was toasted, mustard, provolone, and a side of pickles and jalapeños. Boy was it good! I really should have had the full size. Give er a shot if you're in the neighborhood. You won't regret it. I'll definitely stop by again. Loved it.

I'm truly at a loss for words in describing this place. Perhaps 'basic' might be most appropriate…read more Let's first say that when I walked inside I nearly immediately turned around to walk out. The general look and atmosphere is off-putting. It seems devoid of product, somewhat disheveled and disorganized and lacking any substantive character. The place appears very 'long in the tooth', and no food products were evident anywhere. Added to it, no customers, yet some came later. Yet, I was hungry and stayed. To be honest, glad I did. They sell essentially one thing-PASTRAMI, and that's it. Well, indeed true to the restaurant name. Again, everything is basic! I opted for a Classic Pastrami Sandwich and was given the option for bread, I chose a soft roll, and provolone for cheese, plus mustard. At $22. for a sandwich, well, I had some hesitation. The place is apparently owned and run by a charming older couple who really are out to please, very friendly and congenial. I felt like I fell into an old Russian Jewish deli on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, no frills. Basic, but good food! OK, the Pastrami and the entire sandwich were AMAZING! The quality of the meat was top notch and quite good, probably some of the best around. The sandwich was HUGE and enough for two meals. I was offered peppers on the side and it was perfect for me to add some. The sandwich was nicely warmed/toasted, the cheese melted perfectly and it wasn't a difficult messy thing to eat as are many more upscale sandwiches and burgers these days. So, in the end it was worth it. The sandwich was indeed a surprise and excellent. Plus, they checked after I bit into it to be certain I was satisfied, with a smile. I got some chips and a drink and ate it there. Plenty of napkins were provided. Located in a rather funky 1960s shopping mall it's small, not that easy to find yet parking seems OK. Albeit it somewhat pricey the food is very good and the value is there. If you want Pastrami then this is the place. They sell bulk packages of it too. Try it. You might be as surprised by it.

It has avocado, cheese, and mayo. For a pastrami sandwich purist, it might not sound good, but it was so flavorful, and even my husband loved it, and he's one of the pastrami purist and not a fan of mayo. That says a lot.
