Having lived in Roseville for a few years I had heard about this spot for so long but had never been in the area! Finally my husband and I were able to make our way over there for breakfast and were so impressed! We found street parking right away & were greeted by the friendly cashier upon walking in. We let him know it was our first time and he immediately recommended the Tri Tip tacos! We were happy to see that they served these during breakfast & they came in an order of 3. We also ordered the breakfast burrito & split that. We got hot sauces to go with our to go order & couldn't wait to get home because the food smelled SO AMAZING. We smelt the smoker before we even saw it when we pulled up & so we knew it was going to be good, but not this good! The Tri tip tacos were the star. We were so glad we took the staff's recommendation ! The Tri tip was thinly sliced & Smokey in every bite. The tortilla was fried it seemed and then the taco was topped with a shredded cheese blend and lettuce. It sounded a bit basic .... But together and with the meat, it really was fantastic! I have been hankering for some tri-tip lately. Roundhouse deli has a long history of serving the best tri-tip in Roseville. It sits right across the street from the Union Pacific locomotive works and enjoys a steady stream of customers from the railroad yard. I arrived just before noon and found parking across the street. My friend and I both ordered the tri-tip taco special. Three soft grilled tacos similar to Jimboy's tacos but stuffed with bbq tri-tip fresh off the fire. Yum. Not greasy at all. The red hot sauce on the side was delicious and added a nice kick to each satisfying bite. A side dish and soft drink was included in the Wednesday special for around $15. I loved it. A line of customers was out the door moments after noon but service was very fast. I will be back. read more

Tri tip sandwich was excellent - tender, lightly bbq sauce on a fresh baguette with lettuce and tomato (I held the onions and mayo). My friends tri tip tacos were proclaimed delicious as were the fries - hot and crisp with the right amount of salt. We come here for the breakfast burritos. I love the chorizo burrito, just a bit of heat to it, but so delicious. We have tried the Jeremy, which is HUGE, by the way. I actually got halfway through mine and had to save the rest for the next day's breakfast, that's how large it was. But again, very good! I have not had a chance to try their sandwiches, but if they are anything like the burritos, you won't be disappointed. Service was prompt. Took a quick minute for me to connect "Roundhouse" to the train engine complex and multiple tracks straight across the street. Then a 13-minute freight train rolled by. We came on a weekday before noon (& before the lunch crowd line & wave of takeout orders). We parked in the unpaved lot by the smoker. Across the way are train tracks. Inside is a small, cramped space, & customers maneuver around each other. There are a few close-quarters tables & a lot of refrigerated beverages available. Fountain drinks are self-service. We were greeted by a friendly man who took our order at the counter. While waiting outside, order names are announced loudly & clearly over a speaker when ready. Outside, there is more seating at a few long picnic tables with umbrellas along the street. Like a picnic setting, you occasionally need to wave away some flies. Our experience felt very communal with the diverse diners--people accommodated each other at the shared tables, joked a bit, & we bumped into an acquaintance. We ordered their famous Tri-Tip Tacos, which look simple, but offer such deliciousness. The meat has smokiness & a little tang that is flavorfully prominent, but not overpowering. It is juicy, tender, & easy to bite through. The tortilla is crisp & has saltiness from a sprinkle of cheese. It's all buried under a mountain of shredded cheese & lettuce that offers a fresh, cool contrast to the rich meat. Love, love, love this place! I have been wanting to go here for quite some time and now I ask myself why I waited so long. I had their tri-tip sandwich and it most definitely lived up to the hype. The tri-tip was incredibly tender which made the sandwich so much easier to eat than most tri-tip sandwiches. The bun was a perfect holding vessel for the deliciousness within. I ordered it exactly as the menu described it and that was perfection. The place itself is a little hole-in-the-wall but still has character. Roundhouse deli is definitely a place you need to check out at least once if you are in Roseville. It is literally next to the train tracks so parking is all on the street and restaurant looks like a hole in the wall. There are tables inside and outside to eat but not too many. Usually there's a line out the door if you come during peak lunch hours. On the weekends and Friday they have tri tip tacos and I highly recommend getting these. The tri tip is so tender and pairs well with the crisped up tortilla and cheese and lettuce. The ingredients are so simple but so delicious. Make sure you get the red spicy sauce to put in your taco. Also, if you go for breakfast their burritos are huge, but be warned you may not be able to do any work after eating their burritos cause they are huge haha Check out roundhouse deli and you won't be disappointed. The people who work here are all so nice and it's just a little hole in the wall space with the best food! I finally made it back, and this time I tried the tri tip sandwich. This was the BEST tri tip sandwich I have ever had. The roll it came on was so soft inside, but had a thicker texture on the outside. the tri tip was cut up thin and was SO tender, with just the right amount of bbq sauce. I was only going to eat half and bring home my wife the other half. After I ate my half I stared at the other half for a few minutes debating if I should eat it or take it home to her. I decided to bring her the other half, but it was not an easy decision. Next time Im going to try the train wreck, which is a tri tip and pastrami sandwich. I can't wait. read more

Do yourself a favor, if you haven't been to Roundhouse Deli go. If you've already been, I don't need to tell you- you know! This spot is a Roseville staple and is a popular spot for those in the know. There's street parking and as soon as you get out of the car the smells of the grilled/smoked meats wafts through the air and if you weren't already hungry you will be. The staff is hard at work getting food out to customers, the owner is usually at the counter (at least when I've visited) and is super friendly. They serve breakfast (Until 10:30am) as well as burgers, hotdogs, sandwiches and tacos. Check out their daily special and if it's the tri-tip tacos get them! I was skeptical the first time because I'm not big on tri-tip but they are SO GOOD. They have limited seating inside and some picnic tables outside. If you can, enjoy the food there because it's so good fresh and hot, but from experience I know it can survive the ride home and still taste amazing. Ok so I love tri tip. I've gotten their tri tip tacos, the tri tip burrito and finally today their tri tip sandwich. I have got to say that the sandwich is the way to go. Didn't like the tacos or burrito but the sandwich was pretty good. It's always so busy during lunch! It's what brings me back, as I'm tempted to try something new. It's no surprise that Roundhouse Deli was selected as one of the Yelp top 100 local tacos in our area. Super proud of that achievement and yes, their smoked Tri-tip tacos are unmatched. Over the summer it became super challenging to get in there as road construction was happening. All that has been completed thank goodness. I got the recommendation to go there for the crispy tacos. Today it's definitely my goto for great tacos. The service is excellent, it's a small place. If you go outside of peak times, it's very accessible. I'm really disappointed with how this situation was handled. About a week ago, I found a hair in one of my tacos. I called the restaurant at that time and was told that they would be able to remake the order for me if I came back in. Yesterday, I called ahead again to confirm, and then went in to have the tacos remade. When I explained why I was there, the woman at the counter immediately told me they have a policy and that documentation was required. I let her know that I had already sent the documentation and was even pulling it up on my phone to show her. Instead of calmly checking, she began raising her voice at me. I asked her why she was getting loud, as I was simply trying to resolve an issue I had already been told would be taken care of. I then asked directly if they were going to remake the tacos or not since I had called and been told yes. She seemed visibly frustrated, and the whole interaction felt tense and uncomfortable. Her dad then angrily said, "Just give her the tacos," and handed me the bag. There was a long line behind me, and the entire situation was embarrassing. Mistakes happen -- finding a hair in food is unfortunate but can be handled professionally. What really disappointed me was the way I was treated when trying to resolve it. Customer service matters just as much as the food. So much for supporting a local, I will never be back. read more

Ok so I've heard about this place for years but have never made the trek to try the tri tip tacos. Today was the day . Omg! I'm a taco lover, I mean I know that most people love them, too .... Popular spot open during construction right in front of the business. We did not let that deter us. The dining gods were with us as we scored a nice inside booth. Service was friendly and prompt. Both of us got the Tri tip and would have a hard time deviating from this choice as they were soooo good, but the rest of the menu looks amazing as well. We got the meal deal.
