The Chinese Buffet at the Deli department is the best . Very tasty, juicy, and fresh. It beats Raleys, Woodland, Chinese buffet hands down. I don't know why Raleys doesn't improve their food. It just doesn't taste as good. The price is the same at both stores. That said, Bel Air recently changed their tri-tip roast supplier, and the meat provided by the new supplier is not as good. It tastes strange... and the texture is weird. I used to get my tri-tip at Bel Air, but won't anymore until they upgrade the beef. read more

This review is solely based on their deli - specifically their sandwiches. First off, the service is great! They are very attentive. I forgot to add a meat to my ticket and they went out of their way to find me and ask me if I wanted meat on my sandwich. Second, you can't beat the price. $12 Bucks for a six inch, chips and water. Today's date 05-28-2025. It seems that this store is going downhill! I am not sure if they have new management or not, but they do have a lot of new, younger employees. The turnover in this store (East Gibson Road - Woodland) is high, they don't seem to be able to keep employees. On Sunday 05/25/2025, afternoon) I walked up to a checker (Lady, blonde, about 50 years of age) and asked where I could find a certain item. She asked what it was and then she said I don't know. So, I asked if she could look it up on her screen (Computer at the checkout counter) and she said she had no way of checking. Then she got kind of snotty and yelled over to another young checker (Young guy, about 22-25 years of age), and said "I have things I need to go do, can you tell this guy (me) and tell him where the item is that I am looking for. He said to try aisle XXX on the left side. Bingo, there it was. He knew right away! (Give this man a raise) This lady does not belong working in this store if she is going to act this way. I hope management sees this and has a talk with her. I have been shopping at this store 2-3 times per week since it opened and now, I am not happy with this store. Recently (05-25-2025) I purchased some frozen meals made by Tribali. I took one to work for lunch. When I opened the package, the plastic container was shattered into 20 pieces and was all inside the frozen food. I couldn't eat it, so I wrapped it back in its box (See blue tape). THIS is when I noticed the expiration date of 03/06/2025 (What the heck?) I called the store, and they said to bring it in for an exchange. I took it in, went to the freezer section and found about a dozen more of these meals had expired, some as far back as Oct. 10, 2023 (Almost 2 years expired). I immediately went back to the employees and had them come take a look, and they did. I asked a lot of questions as to Whom is in charge of getting expired food off of the shelves and out of the freezers. They said they have a "program" that tells them. LMBO - this program doesn't work. Today (05-28-2025) I decided to call the store manager. He told me he was sorry and explained that employees are supposed to check the items when they stock the shelves. It's evident that the employees do not do their job properly. He also mentioned that they have a program to check for expired foods. The more we talked, the less confident and less understanding I was feeling. After a long conversation with the store manager, I asked for the corporate office number, I wanted to take this further. He gave me the number and of course, I couldn't get through. Finally, after 45 minutes I was able to get through with the help of someone else. Now I spoke to one of the managers there and went through the same scenario - how can this happen if you have programs and people are supposed to check these things. We had a nice talk, and he is going to have a discussion with the Bel Air manager. For now, and the next many months, Bel Air is going to lose my business, roughly $300 per week. Visited this place yesterday afternoon to grabbed a cake for Father's Day. Two ladies who rather spent their time talking and looked at me and ignored me, agitated because I had a question about the cake. Wasn't very helpful, attitude is everywhere, I mean name it these two ladies has it all. No improvement on their customer service here. Unlike Raley's everyone's are friendly faces, great attitude, excellent service. Bel Air needs a lot of improvement. This review is solely for the Peet's Coffee Counter :) Outside of the Bel Air grocery store, there is huge signage saying, "Proudly Brewing Peet's." That is exactly what caught our attention from the big parking lot, as we grabbed DELICIOUS Korean food to go from Kuji Asian Grill. As you enter Bel Air (nearest Kuji Asian Grill) you can spot Peet's Coffee Counter next to the bakery. It is very clean and they currently have a limited time flavor, Peppermint Mocha :) Again, that signage on the counter caught our attention and there's no question in what we ordered. Special shout out to Brianna for making the perfect cup of decaf peppermint mocha. The milk was heated perfectly, the peppermint was not over powering, and the mocha....what more can be said about mocha ;) She added a beautiful swirl of whipped cream and sprinkled more chocolate on top. He did not acknowledge my hello and it took all of his strength to ask me if I wanted my receipt. I doubt that I will return. Bel Air needs more Checkers. I had a large cart filled with many items and wanted to wait for a Checker to help me. I got into the ONE line with a Checker. Only one person ahead of me. I did not mind waiting. The Checker wanted me to go over to the Self-Check area where the Self -Check person was checking people out. She looks at me and tells me to start my own checking. I am irate. I had probably 40 containers of yogurt alone or more plus other items. One by one I check everything. It takes forever. The line gets longer and longer. It took me at least 10 minutes. When I was done I told them I got into the regular line bc I knew it would be faster for everyone. If I wanted to check out my self, I would get a job at Raley's or Bel Air. I don't want to do that. Nugget is always fully staffed. Why is Bel Air always like this? read more

The lady who works at the deli in the Woodland Bel Air is one of the most condescending and mean persons I have ever encountered. I have decided not to return there and will try other places to get sandwiches. Although I like that location because it is close to my office, I find the other employees there to be great. This is a pretty good store. It usually has what I am looking for and at good prices. The store and restrooms are pretty clean and orderly, and I have always been given respectful and friendly customer service. I do, however, have one ongoing complaint--they almost NEVER have regular bulk green beans. It is baffling to me. The bin is almost always full of those super thin French green beans and my only option is to buy the expensive and usually dry and woody prepackaged green beans or make a separate trip to Nugget or Raley's across town who ALWAYS have regular green beans. During the holiday season, Bel Air did have some more regularly, but now that Christmas has passed, its been 6 weekly trips and no luck. I get not having a great selection of craft beers, speciality cheeses, or more obscure ethnic food items, but GREEN BEANS?! SMH. I finally summoned the energy to reply "No" to the cashier the other day who asked if I found everything I was looking for, and shared my struggle with finding normal green beans in her store and she said, "Yeah, I was fulfilling a call-in order the other day and the lady complained about the same thing. I think it just has to do with our allotment and how much leftover Raley's has. We get what's left, I think." Seems unlikely. So, for now, I split my trips and wallet across Bel Air and Nugget. It would be great if I only had to go to one store, but if I need green beans, which is pretty much a weekly purchase, I go across town and spend more money at the fancy Nugget, which drives me bonkers, but is better than hitting two stores a day. Come on, Bel Air. Please show me the green beans! I would much rather shop regularly with you guys, if possible. :) read more

I'm so impressed with this Bel Air location. I have visited a few times and have always received excellent customer services from the staff. The store is impeccably clean too. The selection of products in the store are great. And every time I buy something from the bakery, everyone is always excited about how delicious and how pretty the cakes are. The produce department is exceptional as well. I don't always shop here, as I live in SoCal, but every time I visit family in Woodland, this is my go to grocery store. read more

We recently discovered a community room at Bel Air grocery store. A place where our sewing group can meet to sew quilts for people fighting cancer. Everything we need is right there including snacks, lunch and coffee! So no time wasted going out for any of those things. Being from out of town I haven't been to this store until now. After calling 4 other normal go to stores for cupcakes And denied due to no advanced order..I Called first thing at 6am when the store opened and asked for 4 dozen cupcakes to be ready within 4 hours..simply stated "2 dozen chocolate, 2 dozen white cupcakes with rainbow frosting and confetti sprinkles" ... Bakery said OK!! NOT A PROBLEM!! Get to the store and the cupcakes are ready and waiting!! just how I asked!! Individual containers with really cute and simple rainbow buttercream frosting with confetti sprinkles...the bakers even went as far as having the cupcakes in cardboard boxes for easy transport! My daughter loved them!! And so did everyone else at the birthday party!!! The cupcakes itself was Super moist and the buttercream frosting was sweet and yummy and plenty of it!! Since the pandemic started there are some days where shelves are a little bare but I usually find everything I need. Staff are always friendly and helpful. There a signs for social distancing as well as plastic in between the registers. You can bring your own bags but you will have to put the groceries in the bag yourself. I have fond memories of being taken to Bel Air (the one on Arden in Sacramento) as a kid and have been impressed by the service as an adult. The Woodland market is several miles from my home but I try to stop by for groceries when in the area. The selection is impressive. Davis has a larger population than Woodland but I often can not find ingredients I need at the local grocery stores. Bel Air in Woodland never fails and most times the item I am looking for happens to be on sale. This Bel Air carries Lovin' Scoopful ice cream but only in a limited number of flavors. Yelpers, please give it a try, you'll fall in love with the taste and then maybe they will carry more. read more

After no response for about a week, I contacted customer service again. Still no response. Why have a customer service email link on the app if no one is monitoring it? I frequent this location often due to it being the closest store to my house. This afternoon I went to get a birthday cake , upon finding the cake I wanted ( there selection was horrible) myself and my mother approached the bakery counter for assistance with writing on the cake. After waiting for the three clerks behind the counter to finish their personal conversation, I finally said "excuse me" two of the clerks quickly looked and treated us by saying "hello we will be right with you", then they proceeded to continue their conversation. After about a minute of waiting one of the clerks took it upon herself to ask one of the others and I quote to "help them before she PISSES me off" . And yes she said it loud enough for me to hear from over the counter. Now as you can imagine I was extremely caught off guard by how this young lady was speaking to my mother. I immediately put the cake back on the counter and walked off to find management. The manager that approached myself and my mom, apologized and said he would get it handled . I work for a company that ships Amazon freight, so needless to say we had to work on Thanksgiving. The boss gave me last minute instructions to get food for not only my station, but the Stockton station too. On Wednesday I called many places and had no luck, but finally I found hope at this Bel Air. Amelia from the deli took on my last minute order for meals for around 300 employees. Amelia and her team were just the most amazing thing to happen to us. We had ham, turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and cranberry sauce. I picked up the first round of food at 7:30 am and the second round at 2 pm. The employees loved the food. Happy employees made for a good day of work. Thank you so much, Amelia! I don't tend to leave negative reviews, but here goes nothing. I think the thing that drives me the most crazy about this store is how awful the cashier customer service is. If it was just a one time thing I'd leave it alone, but I can't even get a greeting, a hello or hi any time I go to pick up something. It's like I'm the scum of the earth to them. They'll talk to the person ahead of me but I don't get a single word. The other people working throughout it the store are nice but I haven't ever been treated even remotely nice by a cashier. Not once. Having been a cashier myself at a grocery store for ten years I just cannot wrap my brain around how they can so consistently get away with doing such a poor job. Believe me, I know how hard a job like that is, but saying hi, a total and thank you goes a long way. Does management know how accountability works? Clearly the staff doesn't care. This review is of my last 2 shopping experiences, which consists of delivery today and curbside pick up 10 days ago. Delivery was supposed to occur between noon and 1 pm, after several phone calls was given partial delivery at 5 pm, they forgot all dairy items. Around 7 pm I finally get the rest of my grocery to find half of the items were substitutions that I would never have chosen. It is bad enough prices are super high, but service to be subpar is not helpful in retaining customers. The previous visit almost a quarter of the items were not provided, and was charged for one I never even got. I appreciate they are open during the pandemic and providing an essential service and they offer curbside and delivery, but for the fees they charge they need to exceed the quality of instacart. read more

I have lived close to the Woodland BelAir for 12 years and have gone there much of the time. Over time I have seen the post office section close , the lottery counter close, and the Pharmacy close. More recently the store staff is minimal at best. Usually only one register open. The self service often has jam ups or other problems where I have to have an employee work me through it. I have notice very recently some of the lemon cakes that I like to but a very dry and should have been removed from display. I just through out one after trying to eat one slice. Yesterday I was at the Deli section to buy some fried chicken. I tired to get someone's attention from the back room. After abouot 10 minutes I left to do other shopping. When I returned two women were at the deli trying to get service. They asked one employee to help them and he said it will be awhile as I'm training a new guy right now. I then left the store.
