    Purchased a snowblower in November, started it up today for the first time today (Our first…read moresnowstorm of the year). It started up, but the drive gear never engaged, it wouldn't move. I called Ace Hardware, within 20 minutes Mark was at my house. He tried a few things and it didn't work, he went back to the store, brought back a technician, unfortunately he couldn't get it working. 45 minutes later, they were back with a brand new working snowblower. Everyone was so helpful, apologetic, and reassured me they would make sure I had a working snowblower for the storm tonight. Mark was amazing and was true to his word. I drove down from Merrimack NH (where I work) to see it and most likely buy it. Walked in the door off school st, looked around. Now I saw to Ace employee's near the check out. One was young, the other older. Asked the younger one that was facing me if he knew where Tricam 2-Step Stool that was in stock was? He looked at me with no reply for about a minute. The older associate that was looking at him said; ' you know where the step stools are, show him'. He brought me to the small area was along a wall. He said: 'here, this all we got and left!'. That pretty much shock me. Well I looked and looked could not see the Tricam 2-Step Stool anywhere that I saw online (showing as in stock at the Nashua Ace Hardware / Pearl st) . So after that lovely customer service experience (not), I decided this a my clue to leave. On the journey to the door, did not see one associate that had a smile, nor any customer connection or follow-ups for any help. I just hopped in my suv in the packing lot across the street and said to my self....I will never never go there again. Funny because the little research I did on the Nahua Ace seemed to very high. Big things on George Katis (owner) and Dave the manager. Some stuff about very good service / helpfully driven there. Well I certainly did not see that, feel that or experience that..... So what will I do? One, share this. Two, I will go the my known good Ace Hardware in Windham NH. Order it and pick it up once it comes in. Also again I have no reason to back to Nashua Ace because of the lack of over sub par service and logistically it is not worth it too. Now please note, I am a very strong supporter of good to great small local businesses but not the ones that don't even try and seem to have toxic atmosphere, pass! Now I do hope others have a better experience then I do at the Nashua Ace. But recommend it, I will not.......Cheers Tom

They do run a good business…read more If I owned a CENNAHVILLE Real Estate Empire I would probably be a frequent customer, but I digress. I have to question AG's decision to affiliate with ACE Hardware. I bought an item from ACE Hardware directly via their website and had it shipped to their store. I also purchased a few items directly from A.G. Again pleasant experience, real hard working knowledgeable folks in here. It really is a call back to the hardware stores of yesteryear at A.G. Well the item I purchased from Ace's website did not meet my needs and I tried to initiate a return with A.G. But they sent me packing and to deal directly with ACE. I understand it's ACE policy and I technically did not pay for them for that item. I just feels like if the local stores are going to accept shipments from ACE they should be able to initiate an Return Merchant Authorization as well. I called ACE numerous times and even Tweeted at them, but I was blown off. So now I'm out $40 dollars for a tool I don't use and could be sold as new again. They did not honor their 30 day return policy. Yes, I understand we are in "uncertain" times, but it just felt off putting. I had to buy a mini-fridge from Home Depot recently the unit I got was defective out of the box. Home Depot took the fridge back and refunded my money post-haste. Markets and customers change and I guess I will take my business elsewhere, but it feels like ACE has some really outdated policies and procedures in handling customer disputes.

I love that I can walk in there with something in my hand and say "my husband told me to get this and the thing that hooks to it" and they know exactly what I need or what. Same thing with odd projects. We walk in and tell them what we are trying to do and they are very helpful! Only bad part is that sometimes I get stopped walking into the store and they take me right to the section I need to be in, and then I lose out on the opportunity to wander around the store. I think their sales would skyrocket if they'd let their customers wander about a little before they help them.
