The biggest mistake I made after two big water issues was NOT calling Belfor first. After a deeply unfortunate mistake with another water mitigation firm, USAA sent Marc Serra over as my project manager. Since December 14th - with a massive ice storm in the meantime, I've learned to be patient. First Marc was extremely thorough and identified all kinds of areas of damage the first company totally missed. So, the estimate grew, and so did the scope of work. I ended up on the couch as my bathroom, garage and bedroom were upended. All the workers, most especially Willy, who hates to paint but is so very good at it, took apart my house with care. I was able to make some critical improvements along the way, floor upgrades and changes to paint color, adding insulation to my garage and much more. While yes, this took a good long while, largely due to the incredible demand because of a devastating ice storm, we are one drapery dry cleaning and stair shampoo away from done. It's been worth it. We have to remember that everyone has staffing shortages and all clients want their work done yesterday. For here, someone with twelve trees on their house (true story) is going to be a higher priority than finishing my touch-up paint job. Willy swiftly became my favorite because of his dedication to details, care with my house and endless good humor. My poor toilet, the source of all the trouble, also got excellent care due to their uber-competent plumber who found additional issues in the tank and made sure I wouldn't have a repeat event. Marc has been good-humored, patient, responsive and thorough, regularly communicating with USAA about any additional needs. I also want to mention Lincoln, whom USAA first sent over to do the initial evaluation. He also was attentive, polite, and did his best to get things moving. That started a long journey, but here's what worked about that: I had plenty of time to think about what else I wanted to change, and as a result, I ended up repainting my whole house. The Belfor team helped me identify some problems that I didn't know existed, for which I am forever grateful. Kudos over and over to this whole team. If I may, a point of advice: you and I are going to receive far better service when and if we make workers feel at home. Marc's team had a house key, full access to my kitchen, a very clean utility bathroom and could use my fridge. In fact I still have a bag of someone's pot stickers in my freezer. I have seen how grateful workers are when we take care of them, are willing to be patient and have a good laugh when things go sideways, as they so often do. When people feel welcomed and valued in your home, they will take care of it. Belfor treated my house with great respect, and Willy will be missed around here.

had a really great experience with Biodynamics Restoration. The team was professional,…read moreknowledgeable, and genuinely cared about doing the job right. They took the time to explain the process, answered all my questions, and made a stressful situation feel a lot more manageable. You can tell they specialize in what they do, their attention to detail and expertise really showed. Communication was clear throughout, and everything was handled efficiently and respectfully. I'd absolutely recommend Biodynamics Restoration to anyone needing odor removal or remediation services.

Don't be misled by this company's claims of being doctor-recommended, experienced with CIRS cases,…read moreor committed to professionalism and customer care. My experience was the exact opposite. They advertise that they use IICRC-certified technicians, but the company itself is not IICRC certified. I recommend asking them to provide proof that the technician assigned to your project is actually certified. I hired this company because I am severely ill due to mold toxicity and believed their claims that they understood CIRS cases and would take the extra precautions needed to protect someone in my condition. Instead, I felt like they were more concerned with making money than protecting my health. Their actions showed a complete disregard for the fact that they were working in the home of someone who is medically vulnerable. Throughout my remediation, the crew did not wear PPE, despite charging me $1,500 for it. Even after I raised concerns, they refused to refund the PPE charges and told me to "prove it." I provided photos showing their worker performing demolition inside the containment area without a suit or mask, and my family, as well as another contractor, witnessed this throughout the project. The crew also failed to follow basic contamination-control procedures or accepted IICRC remediation standards. They left HVAC vents uncovered during demolition, cut a large hole in my ceiling without properly sealing it, and did not use decontamination chambers. These failures cross-contaminated my HVAC system and attic, creating additional remediation that I now have to pay for. At a minimum, they should have left my home in the same condition and contamination standard it was in before they began work. Instead, they left it worse than they found it and refused to take responsibility for the problems they created. After only one week of work, I terminated the project. I had paid a $10,000 deposit and received just $299 back. Not only did they refuse to reimburse me for PPE that was never used, but they also refused to have my HVAC system cleaned after contaminating it. A professional remediation company should stand behind its work, acknowledge mistakes, and make them right--not leave the homeowner with additional damage and expenses. After terminating Bio Dynamics, I hired an independent, non-biased mold remediation inspector to evaluate the work that had been performed. His inspection confirmed many of the concerns I had raised. He identified multiple deficiencies, concluded that IICRC remediation standards were not followed, and documented several ways my home had been cross-contaminated during the remediation process. I provided Bio Dynamics with a copy of the inspection report, hoping they would take responsibility and correct the issues they had created. Instead, they refused to do anything to help fix their mistakes. Despite having an independent inspection documenting the problems, they declined to properly address the cross-contamination or make things right, leaving me to pay for the additional remediation needed because of their negligence. The worst part about this company is that they know they did this, I have documented proof they did this, but they just do not care ! This experience has been devastating for my family. We are currently living in our driveway while our home is being remediated, and my family and friends have even started a GoFundMe to help with my medical expenses because of how severely mold toxicity has affected my health. We hired this company believing they would help us create a safe environment, but instead they left our home in worse condition than when they started and added even more stress, expense, and health concerns to an already difficult situation. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company, especially if you are sick! If you do, I document everything, verify their technicians' credentials, and make sure they follow proper remediation protocols every step of the way.

It was a fun, collaborative process, not nearly as stressful as I feared. Christian and his crew were highly adaptive during the process as we threw them a couple curveballs. Even with a few changes on our part, we ended up on time and on budget. Every little detail from framing to finishing seemed to respect the original design and style of the house, which was very important to us. I would highly recommend Cityscape if you're looking to renovate a home. We'll be calling them again when it's time for a basement upgrade.

Christian came highly recommended from another company who had done some work for me. So when Christian agreed to jump in and do the job quickly I didn't think to research them. I was never offered a contract or anything in writing (dumb me). When they finished the job, Christian was not there and he asked me to give a check to one of the workers, which I did. I expected to get a receipt in the mail but never did. I requested multiple times via texts and phone that he send a receipt and also send information on the type of roofing material he had used and how to maintain it. He only responded to one text, saying he would send a receipt but never did. Then while trying to determine how to clean the surface for the 2018 winter, I noticed a large bubble with water under it. After almost a year trying in vain to contact Cityscape I filed a BBB complaint against them for a unacceptable job and refusal to respond to my requests for a receipt and information on the materials used. Once I filed the complaint, he responded pretty promptly and came and patched the bubble and gave me both a receipt and information on the material used. The patch was an eyesore! I contacted the material manufacturer Rep, who came to my home. He said the patch looked awful and was not even the same color material as the rest of the deck. Christian had tried to blame the problem on the fact that There was furniture on the deck. According to the Rep, the furniture should have had no negative affect. Hello - it's a balcony. Of course we had furniture on it. The materials rep committed to donating the material to have it done right and Cityscape agreed to do the work, but the weather was already getting bad, so I had to wait until this year (2019). In attempting to contact Cityscape and the Rep this year, I found that the Rep was no longer there and of course; Cityscape did not return my call. I tracked down the new company Rep, and they still commit to donating the material. However, I have to pay again for someone to do the labor because, according to an email from the current Rep: "I reached out to both my Seattle and Portland distributors and they both had no records of Cityscape Renovation & Restoration LLC, or Christian *****. Neogard will sell direct to customers, but only to approved applicators. My concern is that Christian had no training from Neogard on how to apply the materials, and we have no idea where he acquired them . . . " The railing that Christian built was wobbly within a year. Being an upper deck above the river (I have a floating home), a fall would have been deadly for my 4 year old granddaughter who lives with me. I do have to give him credit for noticing it and bolting it to the house for stability. In short, this guy did an inferior job and a lousy fix and now it's too late in the season once again. To top it off, now I will have to re-pay for the labor to do it right this time.
