I called my insurance company, and they told me to have a water remediation company come out right away to start the dry out process to prevent any mold from forming, and recommended Servpro. I called our local Servpro branch, and they were courteous, professional and helpful from the very first phone call. They not only answered all of my questions, but they were able to get a crew out to my house in less than two hours to start drying it out. They assisted me with getting the asbestos testing performed (which is required in all homes built prior to 2004), performed all of the necessary demo, setup heaters and dehumidifiers as needed, and did all the cleanup when they were done. They also touched base with me regularly to let me know what was going on, and someone came out to my house every day during the dry out process to check on the progress. I felt well taken care of, and didn't feel like anything was left up to chance. Overall, I was VERY impressed with my experience with Servpro, and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for water remediation services. In addition, I would like to give a special thank you to Jamaica who was in charge of overseeing the entire job. I feel like she went above and beyond to make sure that our home was well taken care of and that all of my (many) questions were answered, even going as far as to give me her cell phone number so that I could get a hold of her directly if any issues came up. In the process that nicked the tile below and the cabinet door above. Using a hole saw instead of a hammer would be the way I would have gone about the task. The legs of the heater they used to dry the floor scratched my tile. The tile that I have has been discontinued and I can't find a replacement. My insurance company does not cover that damage. The offered me a discount of $134.10, not nearly enough to cover the damage. The discount ended up being $200, but still not enough to cover the damage. I also stopped them from cutting a hole in some drywall, had they walked around to see what was on the other site they would have noticed that the wall was open because we were installing a new shower. In fact they would have seen our contractors face through the hole, because they were working in that room at the time. I called them as courtesy to let them know that I would be leaving an honest review of my experience with them. I would most definitely not engage SERVPRO if this happens to me again.

They advertise that they use IICRC-certified technicians, but the company itself is not IICRC certified. I recommend asking them to provide proof that the technician assigned to your project is actually certified. I hired this company because I am severely ill due to mold toxicity and believed their claims that they understood CIRS cases and would take the extra precautions needed to protect someone in my condition. Instead, I felt like they were more concerned with making money than protecting my health. Their actions showed a complete disregard for the fact that they were working in the home of someone who is medically vulnerable. Throughout my remediation, the crew did not wear PPE, despite charging me $1,500 for it. Even after I raised concerns, they refused to refund the PPE charges and told me to "prove it." I provided photos showing their worker performing demolition inside the containment area without a suit or mask, and my family, as well as another contractor, witnessed this throughout the project. The crew also failed to follow basic contamination-control procedures or accepted IICRC remediation standards. They left HVAC vents uncovered during demolition, cut a large hole in my ceiling without properly sealing it, and did not use decontamination chambers. These failures cross-contaminated my HVAC system and attic, creating additional remediation that I now have to pay for. At a minimum, they should have left my home in the same condition and contamination standard it was in before they began work. Instead, they left it worse than they found it and refused to take responsibility for the problems they created. After only one week of work, I terminated the project. I had paid a $10,000 deposit and received just $299 back. Not only did they refuse to reimburse me for PPE that was never used, but they also refused to have my HVAC system cleaned after contaminating it. A professional remediation company should stand behind its work, acknowledge mistakes, and make them right--not leave the homeowner with additional damage and expenses. After terminating Bio Dynamics, I hired an independent, non-biased mold remediation inspector to evaluate the work that had been performed. His inspection confirmed many of the concerns I had raised. He identified multiple deficiencies, concluded that IICRC remediation standards were not followed, and documented several ways my home had been cross-contaminated during the remediation process. I provided Bio Dynamics with a copy of the inspection report, hoping they would take responsibility and correct the issues they had created. Instead, they refused to do anything to help fix their mistakes. Despite having an independent inspection documenting the problems, they declined to properly address the cross-contamination or make things right, leaving me to pay for the additional remediation needed because of their negligence. The worst part about this company is that they know they did this, I have documented proof they did this, but they just do not care ! This experience has been devastating for my family. We are currently living in our driveway while our home is being remediated, and my family and friends have even started a GoFundMe to help with my medical expenses because of how severely mold toxicity has affected my health. We hired this company believing they would help us create a safe environment, but instead they left our home in worse condition than when they started and added even more stress, expense, and health concerns to an already difficult situation. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company, especially if you are sick! If you do, I document everything, verify their technicians' credentials, and make sure they follow proper remediation protocols every step of the way.

Then explanations changed?…read more We asked Your Crawlspace Guys to come back out after they worked on a wall, but it was still showing movement- we were told that they didn't know the problem was to the extent that it was(1 inch cracks appearing throughout as time went on in the summer) didn't know so much shifting would occur, and didn't have the tools needed to truly fix the problem, but that it would be a reoccurring issue due to the groundwater levels and yearly settling. Other back and forth continued for some time, and once a dissatisfactory review was posted online, their explanation changed. It changed to they knew the issues at hand, but they weren't hired for THAT, so they didn't fix it. Instead of acknowledging my complaints individually, the owner places blame on me and apologised for ME "being unrealistic" - AFTER THEIR OWN WORK INVOICE SAID IT WOULD DO SOMETHING THAT IT DIDN'T. They also claims they did the work for the sellers, and not even me and my partner....as the estimates, and invoices have my name listed on it, as well as my partners(name highlighted in green on attached photo). If they really didn't do the work for us, I would have expected him to hit back with "I couldn't find you in the system" like they have on other negative reviews. I also would have expected them to decline to even come back out to our house, if that was the case. The owner also claimed the company replaced a vapor barrier for me at some point, maybe they meant at closing?? but their response made it seem like they did it as some sort of courtesy sometime after the intial work was done. They either failed to communicate yet another thing, or they made up info to try to make a negative google review look better. We might never‍ know lol. They have so many positive reviews that our experience truly has us scratching our heads as to why our experience has sucked. If my partner worked on someone's car, but the same car came was back within 6 months, with even more issues, and all he had to say "sorry your car is failing, but I didn't know it was going to get to THIS extent, and I don't even have tools for this", he would still be held responsible in his position. It's been nothing but a headache for the last year, I can't go into my garage without feeling frustration and wishing we had gotten bids elsewhere instead of taking the route we did. I recommend going elsewhere for foundation specific issues(they do fine with crawl space work), especially if you're getting work done before closing/using escrow. That, or make sure to physically be present during all conversations and scheduling regarding what's needed so that questions can be asked and stories, blame and explanations can't be shifted later.

We had three different major projects to get bids upon and Julio was one of the several construction company representatives who responded to our calls. He was on time for our in home meeting and impressed us with his attention to detail while considering the work and materials needed to complete the jobs. Julio was able to give us a comprehensive bid on each of the projects (flooring, siding and construction of an external awning/sun shade) detailing a prospective time schedule if we chose to hire his company. He was also able to offer us a discount if we decided to hire his company to complete all of the projects. This made good sense to us as it would save confusion in resources like dumpsters, vehicle parking, porta potties, ETC if we had different entities working at the same time. The work contract was easy to understand and there were no surprises throughout the whole process. Julio also provided all the necessary legal documents to show he had proper licensing and insurance for his company and workers. All the individual workers who Julio sent to our home were professional, courteous and efficient. The building supplies were ordered properly and we were promptly notified about the impending deliveries The demolition and removal of our old poor quality siding was done quickly and skillfully and at the end of every workday, the workers cleaned every bit of scrap and all the sharp nails and pieces of wood that would have been a hazard to us and out pets. The siding crew that wrapped our stripped house was great and the crew that cut and attached the Hardie board siding was amazing in their skillful technique. The painters did an excellent job and got everything right, down to the smallest of details. The awning project was initially not what my wife expected but Julio quickly understood and directed his crew to make the necessary improvements getting it just right. The same work ethic and and attention to detail was applied to the removal of our old, worn-out and stinky downstairs carpeting. After stripping the floors bare, the cement was leveled and prepped for the tile we had chosen from the business that Julio had recommended. The relatively big area was tiled, sealed and new baseboard was attached. During the entire renovation project, Julio was in constant contact with us and he was onsite at least once if not several times a day while the workers were present. The payment plan was clear and simple with no unexpected surprises at the end. I would highly recommend J&R NW Construction for anyone considering a construction or renovation project in the Portland area and would definitely hire the company again for any future projects.
