Giving one star is a challenge but here we go... My 16 year old has been growing his hair out for almost two months. He currently has the Textured Fringe. This hair cut was done at another shop but worked well and he wanted the same. All, I repeat all, we needed was a tiny bit off the top and trim up the sides and back. Our barber was KEVIN and we gave him SIX color photos printed out and left at his station of what the cut looks like. I look down then look at my son and he is bald on the sides and the back. The front is long and slicked back like a greaser. Pompadour style. Soooo not what was in the pics and definitely what we asked for. At that point I lost my cool and went to ask what the heck was up? My teen son had tears in his eyes. I showed him the pics and told him what we wanted. The guy said he would fix it. KEVIN BLEW IT! He literally cut the entire top and gave him the Dumb & Dumber! No joke. This is a nightmare my son said while hiding his tears. I payed Kevin and told him that that is the worst cut we have ever got. Two other barbers were watching as I bailed. After I arrived home I got even more upset and called the shop. Gene answered. He said he was one of two owners. He felt terrible and had seen the horrific cut happen. He begged us to come back (we don't live super close) and have him make it right. I agreed. Gene did a good job cleaning up the disaster. He also made KEVIN give me my $$$ back. My son now has a comb-over with a hard part which he did NOT want. But, at least it is an actual style. He is bummed but at least he isn't sporting the Dumb & Dumber. Good grief. Kevin really jacked up my boy and his summer hair. It will take 3-4 months to get to where we were. For a kid that is a looooooong time. Now I am appreciative of what the owner Gene but please learn from our mistake and DO NOT GO TO KEVIN. Repeat - NO KEVIN!!!!! read more

We have been coming to this barbershop for a while. Our son started at 5 years old. He is now almost 24. Mike has been very patient with our son. Whenever we come over to OC this is one of the places we come and visit. Thank you, Mike, for being patient and kind. Thuy is the best. Haircutter. I love coming here because some of the hair cutters are so good and so quick. Thuy it's my favorite, but she typically has a line of people in her queue to get their haircut. Peter and another great hair cutter. I love going to him as well. Been here twice and have had an okay visit and a great one. The great one made me want to give this place 5 stars. The okay visit would probably be a 4-star review, mainly because of the price for the quality. Service, in my has gone downhill the last few times I have been there. Today I went there for usual haircut, ( #2 on the sides and back, about a 1/2 inch on the top ) i told the guy how I liked it and he smiled and nodded a lot ( all Orientel people there, which i have nothing against ). The haircut took about 15-20 minutes ( usually takes about 45 minutes). I am not sure what kinda trimmer he was using on my neck and around my ears, but it felt like a straight razor. He brushed me off and blew all the hair off me and handed me the mirror. I said was still too long and he just laughed and quoted me the price. Didn't offer to fix it, just laughed and shoo'ed me away. Not at all pleased. read more

I hate to say it but this is pretty much the worst haircut I've ever gotten. I got my hair cut by a nice Asian man but he gave me the complete opposite of what I wanted and my hair is uneven. Cheap, but not going to be the best. You're better off cutting your own hair. read more

Been going here for years once in a while, but will not go back. The lady by the name Nana or Nina cut my hair and it's uneven and ruined. I asked her to to use thinning scissors and she said ok, but then did it saying ai have thick hair..., She was watching the news on tv a few times while cutting my hair. If you go here, Choose one of the men, In general, they are more patient and seem to care more and better barbers. Going somewhere to hopefully fix it my ruined hair. Went in here today after living in the area for 40+ years. Wont be back for another 40+. This might be the cheapest haircut around but dont bother as you wont get it remotely cut the way you want. The guy cutting my hair had me in and out in less than 7 minutes which was amazing but the problem was I asked for it to be cut short, off the ears, above the neck. He says "a mens cut"? to which I say again that I want it short all over, off the neck and ears. He used an electric razor the whole time, only once using scissors to cut the hair in front in a straight line. No thinning scissors were used at all. When it was done, he had cut my hair down by half, no where near short as I requested. It was at least 3 inches long still. WTF. But I couldnt really tell since he had used water or hair spray to plaster my hair back. He cut the sides very short which is good but with the top long I look like a fucking mushroom. The sideburns are a good half an inch off from being even as well but I can fix that myself. It was only $16 and I feel ripped off. Never coming back. read more

I am thankful Bell Tower is open. They set up shop in the walkway. Not as many stations as before and it is warmer without A/C, but the bottom line is you can get your haircut! I like my hair short, especially in the Summer. When the hair begins to touch my ears, it makes me very uncomfortable, itchy, and unruly. There is usually a line of 2 or 3 people, so put your name down on the clipboard then wait for your turn. It can be challenging to cut hair with my mask on but Mike did an excellent job. The chair is not as comfortable as those cushy chairs, but it does the job. Call ahead if you want to confirm they are open and their hours. The sign says walk-in welcome. And truth be told, I never make a reservation or an appointment. Beware this is a cash only joint, no debit card or credit card accepted. And yes, the price did go up by a $1 so the basic haircut is now $11. Still a bargain if you ask me. read more

We asked the barber for a specific cut and he ended up butchering my son's hair. I stopped him at the beginning to point out issues and he told me it was too early in cut. He had already cut too much by then. It was too short! He didn't follow the picture we showed him and could not cut a straight line, layer properly, or basically have it look decent. He ended up with bald spots, zig zag cuts, and clearly had no training. I had to go home and shave my son's head because the cut was not salvageable. He botched it so bad my son is being teased now. It wasn't even a decent bowl cut which we didn't ask for to begin with. We will never go back. You get what you pay for. Only posted side pictures for his privacy. read more

Last time we came here the service was good and the haircut was great. However, this time when we came to get a haircut, Thuy was rude and disrespectful towards us. She was rushing and got annoyed at us when we asked for the hair length to be shorter. She never asked if we were okay with the length before she proceeded to do the whole haircut that length, and when we asked for it to be shorter, she got mad and said that would cost another haircut price. We were more than respectful and nice when asking her to please cut the hair shorter but instead we got a horrible response to this and bad service. Avoid Thuy at all costs when coming in for your haircuts. read more

If I could give this place 0 starts I would , I wouldn't recommend getting a women's hair cut here. The hairdresser went in on my hair with a razor and all I asked was for some layers and for her to thin it out. My hair is horrible and uneven and I even had to pay another hairdresser to fix it because it is so bad. The whole time she kept complaining how my hair is so thick.. if your going to complain maybe you shouldn't be cutting hair in the first place and not to mention how much she was judging my hair saying " it was really bleached and burned " you don't think I know that ! That's exactly why I wanted a big chop done . The 2 woman workers also kept making assumptions if I was going on with my husband just because she saw me in the waiting room with another man who has 2 kids .. this place is awful and I would not recommended it at all. read more

I stopped to get a haircut at Bell Tower Barber Shop 24602 Raymond Way in Lake Forest. They had just reopened about two weeks ago and I didn't want Diana to trim my hair again. They put fence like barriers about 7 feet high between barber chairs. I asked for my hair to be cut medium with a block cut on back. He used a mirror to show me when he was finished. I told him thank you and also left him a tip. I felt so good that I can celebrate the 4th of July and fill normal again! Then I walked outside and drove off to find my next review. I've been a client for over 25 years. Doesn't matter the barber, it'll be a quick and painless cut. There are better barber shops in Orange County but none come close to the value of this location. As of today, a cut is $11 and most of the time takes about 5 minutes. Post COVID-19, they've added Hand Sanitizer, plexiglass between the chairs. I have visited this barber shop numerous times and very disappointed with the rushed service and the unsatisfactory haircut I received. The barbers I have gave the fastest hair cuts and gave no attention to detail at all. My brother and I called and complained a few times but no improvement made on their service. I strongly recommend the barbers slow down and pay more attention to customer's request to provide a better customer experience. read more

We asked for long on top so he can style it nice (this little boy takes pride in his nice hair!) Clean around the sides to stay cool for summer. Instead the barber just took it all off!!! There is nothing left, it's not even enough to do a little spike!!! He asked my grandson "how do you like it" Child almost crying says "What did you do to my hair!!" He turns to my daughter and says "What do you think mom?" She pays him and says "that's not what I wanted!" My hubs had not cut his hair since the pandemic hit. He's working from home & thinks looking like a 1967 Haight-Ashbury hippie is somehow acceptable behavior. Needless to say it looked so bad I had to threaten to divorce him to get him to cut it. I checked the Yelp reviews & Gene seemed to be a favorite at Bell Tower Barber Shop so we drove over & asked for him. He was available, took my hubby back while I waited outside with the dog. 15 minutes later he came out looking less like a caveman plus he looked 20 years younger. Gene gave him a regular cut, nice & short, no fade (those are for the youngin's) & he's happy & I'm happy. The price was $12.00. WELL WORTH IT. Gene did a great job, & now I'm not embarrassed to be seen in public with the Mr. The price is dirt cheap here so leave a good tip. Haircut was not bad at all for 15$, but the attitude of the workers here is unnecessary and uncalled for. If you're life is miserable then do something about it, don't take it out on paying customers. Even when I walked in the lady was like can I help you with something? As if I was lost.
