I prefer a scissor cut; it's more natural looking when the hair lays down. I'm glad I arrived a bit later; gave me time to watch and take notes. The other two barbers used clippers throughout most of the haircut for their male customers. However, Crystal had a female customer and was using barber shears which was a beacon of hope to me. I think I just found who I'd like to cut my hair. From Crystal & her client's conversation, the lady was a regular; another good sign. (i.e. - Returning customer) Fifteen minutes passed; the second chair barber was done with his customer and motioned me over. I thanked him but expressed that I was going to pass & wait for Crystal. I told the older customer that walked in after me that he was more than welcome to go ahead of me. If the haircut sucks, I can always wear a hat; give it a month and we'll try it all over again. GET WHAT I EXPECTED FOR A GREAT PRICE Walked in for the first time and Crystal told me to sign in. In a few minutes she escorted me to her chair. I had a lot of hair and showed her a pic of a short mens haircut that i liked. She warned me that i was asking for a lot to come off and i told her to go for it. Buzzer on the back and sides. She gelled my hair up right away. After the fade on the side, she combed my hair up in a Mohawk and just used her scissors to cut the top like a xmas tree and that was it. I giving 2 starts because there are a couple of guys there that cut decent hair that sits towards the back however there was a lot of hype about this "Crystal". I went to her yesterday and she jacked up my hair. I even showed her a pic and the cut I got was nothing like the picture. She was rushing, using clippers most of the time, and she wasn't rude but she was very talkative or friendly at all. The haircut sucks and does NOT look anything like the pic I showed her. on top of that they charge you more than they advertise. Its not $14. If they even hold a pair of scissors in they will charge you more for using scissors. Which hair cut place charges you more for cutting your hair with scissors??? It's cheap. But that's what you get in your haircut. It's cash only. My sides were patchy. How do you get sides patchy?!?! I just also want to put out there that most these 5 star reviews are just text and not pictures. Other barbershops I've looked at have pictures of these "excellent" cuts. And on top of that a lot are just plain old generic reviews. Makes me thing since there's so many of barbers there (if they even really are) they have their friends and family write them. My fiance went in for a shave tonight and left with multiple cuts on his face that will now show in our wedding pictures. The barber put the shaving cream from a can on his face, then placed a hot towel over the shaving cream, then shaved his face with a bic razor. Today I waited for a haircut and after waiting 50 minutes the dude tells me it's his break and walks off after agreeing to cut my hair. Vietnamese barber shop for cheap. I was coming here since it was $7 a haircut. Now its $9. Most of the barbers cant do a fade proper, some were ok, and 1 or 2 were great but have since left. Tommy was the best and deserved 5 stars but he's gone. Its all about the barber. I've tried most and can no longer recommend a good barber for a fade here. I don't do much reviews but this one, I can't take it anymore so i will discuss here what is my observation regarding this awful place One star review, why? The most important thing by being a barber is to be always open for suggestions or adjustments. Let me explain my very bad experience in this barber. Today, i tested one of their crews if they are really open for adjustments, i asked for a specific haircut, but then i am not satisfied yet at the haircut so i told them my suggestion (Ex. Please trim more here, etc. And FYI i only asked 2 times because he/she was not getting it), he did it again but its still not enough, of course im not gonna go out of the barber without my satisfaction because i paid for their service, but as i told them my suggestions, i can see the crew's face that he is very disappointed and angry, and starts talking in their language (i am not sure if they are vietnamese but they were talking to their own language), the reason why they're getting very irritable it's because they have plenty of customers, and actually stated "it is taking too much time" but there are like more than 5 of them inside that can do haircuts, this only proves that they're are not doing their job SINCERELY, and doesnt care about you, the only thing that they care is the money you give them, the hard part is you dont understand what they're talking about, there's a possibility that they are already saying bad things about you in their own language so that you wouldn't understand. If you are a first timer in this barber, i would suggest that you find another, if you still want to do it, you've been warned. Not all people have the same haircuts, not all people are SATISFIED in your performance, that is why suggestions are very important.
