I randomly brought my 8 year old here for his first real barber cut...we walked in and Alex took us right away. He did a great cut on my son's hair, was super patient while my son fidgeted and did exactly what I asked for. He spent time making sure my son's thick hair blended well and after my son washed it, it (his hair) laid and styled itself really nicely for once. My son was pretty nervous and anxious, and about halfway through the cut Alex started talking video games with him, and I noticed my son immediately loosen up. I appreciated that Alex tried to find something in common with my son so he would relax..I think that also added to his barber shop experience. (It's nice for him to get to chat with the guys and feel like he's part of their cool club). I will definitely bring my son back to Alex soon for his refresh cut. read more

As soon as you walk into the door, instant greetings. A very warm welcome from the barbers. I instantly felt like I was treated like I was a regular even thought it was my first time there. The service was very professional and clean, the equipment was also very much well maintained. I asked for a 1 on the sides and slight trim up top. I used to go to Golden Crown in Laguna Niguel off of Crown Valley and this was my 2nd visit to the Lake Forest shop. I came in on my lunch break and they were busy (not surprised at all!) I waited for about 20 minutes before a chair opened up. Kia introduced himself, took the time to ask what I wanted and then asked a few questions before getting started. Kia was friendly, created conversation with me, and exceeded my expectations for my haircut. I could not be happier with the cut and his service and will definitely be back! I have been coming here since the week they opened. I have tried others that are cheeper but the quality is hit and miss. The guys here are all good. You will not miss. He always knows how to cut it, and I've always had a good experience since he started working with me. I never mind waiting if there are a few people ahead. Wait is always worth it. Unfortunately, the cut was a bit uneven and not exactly what I asked for, but the barber's amiable demeanor made up for it somewhat. I've been coming to Golden Crown for the past four years. All barbers are different in their own-- unique way. Golden Crown is known for not doing appointments and is walk-in only. Some days they may be packed, others you can walk into at least two barbers ready to take you. Yesterday I got a haircut by Louie/Luis. It was probably one of the best haircuts I've ever received. When I walked in the first time I thought it was also a tattoo parlor. Seems every barber has loads of tattoos. Very friendly and rarely a long wait. Never know what will be on the TV from sports to a classic action film. Also, plenty of restaurants around for before or after. There is even valet parking for the area. read more

Not sure who cut my hair but he was younger. I called ahead asking if they had someone comfortable doing a straight razor on my head. They said yes, it is just a hot towel shave. Perfect. Show up. It's cash only so had to go get cash. Told the barber what I wanted. He put a hot towel on my head and then spent 1.5 hours using a electric shaver. He said all done. Okay I'm writing the same review here because Cambria is at both Mission Viejo and Lake Forest. I cannot stress enough how great a shop this is. Everyone is family here and everyone is a priority. Cambria hooks me up every time I come into GCB. I've never had a bad experience here. It's a chill atmosphere and the true definition of what a shop should feel like. When you come in everyone will give you a great cut and make you feel welcomed but I recommend Cambria the most just because she's THE BEST! I have been his client since we were both abandoned by my previous barber who had eventually ended up at Golden and then moved out of state. To explain it clearly the particular barber I got said, "bro you gotta stop doing that!" I responded doing what? Because clearly he wasn't specific enough and I had no idea what I did wrong. His next reply was, " I will give you a bald spot if you don't stop." I had no idea what he was talking about since my head remained still through out the process during the haircut. This barber shop has the most unskilled,unprofessional, unpleasant crew I have ever encountered. Have been here about 5 times. 3 out of the 5 got a cut by Gabe. Which was great. The other two were a disaster. One guy was literally ridiculing the previous costumer that just left, right informs of everyone. Having a big Lough at how stupid and slow the guy spoke. Zero compassion and professionalism. After he was done giving me the cut along with a beard trim, I looked in the mirror and it wasn't even close to even. I asked him to correct it, he did but, boy did he have an attitude, made me feel extremely uncomfortable. The next time I came around which was just two days ago. I got such a bad cut. I had to buzz cut my hair when I got home. It's astonishing the owner even hired this guy. My cut is very simple and he managed to mess it all up. The place is right next to my office and it's very cheap. $25 a cut. But in this case you get less for what you paid for. Even for $25. Maybe there are some guys in there who know the job. But these two guys are the worst barbers I ever encountered and they work at the same shop. So be careful full when visiting. One of the guys was a stocky Persian guy covered with tats and a beard. The other was a clean shaven young chubby guy. Maybe white or Mexican. Sorry for all the other guys that work there but these two dudes need to be fired ASAP read more
